Pros: inventive Cons: three hours of my life I'll never get back
One of my long-treasured fantasy tomes is Michael Endes The Neverending Story, in which a boy gets bound up in the fantastic tale hes reading and theres all sorts of adventures and bits of philosophy and humor along the way. ...
Pros: Elegant use of language, imagination, ending Cons: Too gruesome for young adults?
I love to read, and owe countless thanks to the storytellers of the world who put words in print for my ongoing enjoyment. Armchair travel or the many, many nights spent stealth-reading with a flashlight under the covers come to mind as I devour YA books ...
Pros: characters and plot Cons: story was slow at first but picked up
I am a lover of books, especially the ones where I feel as if the book is talking to me or letting me see the story thru the character's eyes. This book does just that for me. The characters are well-written and well-developed by the author. ...
Pros: A lot of the adventures are so original! Cons: Can't think of any!
This book is an excellent read for any bibliophile out there who likes to read a good twist on an old story. This is a story about stories. Think "The Princess Bride" meets "Harry Potter" and they slipped you some acid while telling you about Snow ...

Pros: Good writing, not run-of-the-mill Dragons and Heroes. Cons: Leaves you feeling creepy and dark.
The "feeling" of this book reminds me of the feeling I get after watching "Pans Labyrinth". If you have seen that movie, then you know that at the end, you don't have the "happily ever after, sunshine and glitter" feeling, more like a dreary realization of the sadness of life. Sometimes I get in the mood where I want that. In fact, there are even similarities between a couple characters in the movie and book. Personally, I loved that movie and I loved The Book of Lost Things as well. There were strange characters (such as the gay knight) but I am happy not to have the same stupid He-man (meat-head hero), She-Ra (most awesomely gorgeous woman) and Skeletor (scary looking villian) stereotypical characters in every book. I recommend it if you are looking for something different to read
