This Bose system sounds great for movies and music. Watching movies on DVD look fantastic. This Bose product is very easy to setup and use.

I bought this system because of limited space in my two story family room. I have a forty inch high definition television in one corner of the room. I'm able to place these Jewel speakers, Acoustimass module and Lifestyle system, in a small space.

The ADAPTIQ audio calibration is user friendly. It has adapted the speakers and sound to my listening environment.

Pros: Brilliant sound. Access to anything in your collection within seconds.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Heard it in the store and was blown away. The system lets me hear things I've not heard before on my CDs.The ability to access any track throughout my entire CD collection with one remote is great for me as I have MS and handling discs is troublesome. Everyone who comes and hears it is well impressed.

Pros: Discreet, easily expandable, easy to use, easy to install.
Cons: Maybe alittle pricey. But then show me another system this small and punches heavy weight.

The system has been problem free.

When an issue has cropped up about using the functions on the system. I have found that very helpful and polite people are at the other end of the phone. The customer service is excellent.

Included in the price there should be a remote that shows you, your stored music. Instead you will need to part with an extra £150 and buy it separately. Having this remote makes the system very simple to use.

Pros: Easy set up, calibration, Tech manual reads well and sounds great on regular music.
Cons: If I knew it would't play HD discs, I would think twice.

My recent purchase of the Bose System 48 was to hook it up with my Pioneer 50" HD plasma...all went well, except the Bose does not play HD DVD's ! I kept getting an error message " Format Not Supported " nice.....all that coin and it doesn't even play HD ! What gives ? ???

Pros: Great sound, Expandable, Compact, one component does it all.

I trust Bose as being an innovator with some of the best sound systems available. It is very easy to install and it's one compact system. Excellent customer support. They make you feel like a member of their family.

I did not buy the product,these are my opinions after my testing the speakers.I went to a compusmart store to buy something for christmas for me,then I saw the Bose Lifestyle 48 System.I was curious about how a $4000 speaker system sounds like,then I did some testing of the speakers(I pretended I wanted to buy a home theatre system)Boy,they sounded awful(the bass was ok),my creative computer speaker that cost $60 sounds better than that speaker(subwoofer excluded)The receiver had a lack of expandability.It only had some common video outputs and some other common audio outputs.

So I say don't buy this system.A Electrohome 5.1 Home Theatre that cost $49.99 in factorydirect is better than this system(again,except the subwoofer).If you want good sound,buy some other systems,but definitely not this one.
Buy something like Sony,Panasonic,or Yamaha.

Last words,I seriously think Bose should make bigger speakers,not these smaller ones.What's the point of hiding the speakers?You should be showing off your large speakers.Usually when people come to your house and see the small speakers,they'll think the system sucks.Vice versa.And Bose say"Better Sound Through Research".I seriously think they should think about "Better Sound Through Larger Speakers"
