Pros: sounded pretty good in the demo room, which was total blue smoke and mirrors Cons: $4,000???????????? Are these people high?
I made a trip to a mall in Tampa, to get a replacement for an iPod whose home button had gone to the great Apple in the sky. While there, it occurred to me to walk into the Bose store and check out its "wave radio." The moment my ...
Pros: The Bose looks nice, and it is easy to operate. It handles dialogue very well. Cons: Sound quality is abysmal, especially considering the price. The system also lacks expandibility.
Bose is one of the most recognized names in audio. Bose's advertising is outstanding, but how about their audio systems? I took a trip to my local Bose dealer to put their Flagship, the Bose Lifestyle 48 to the test. It retailed for only $3,999.00. I ...
Pros: Sound, easy to listen to, easy set-up, highs and lows are respectable. Cons: Pricey. Larger speakers offer better range.
I'm going to try and write as best I can about my Lifestyle system, the reason I paid the money I did for it.. and why overall it isn't a bad system. I'll also explain what I dislike about the system. First of all, I'm not a newbie to speakers. I've ...
Pros: Balanced sound, accurate base, full midrange and silky highs. Great calibration software. Cons: None for me.
My background As an audiophile of many years, I have some very incredible sounding high end gear and built a music room ideally suited to music reproduction. I'm also a concert goer and know what live music of many different kinds sounds like. I've ...
Pros: All of your TV shows are in surround sound, Movies, Sports, and Video games, Cons: Price is high, but than the old saying that you pay for what you get.
I had heard of Bose, and I got a chance to hear it and I was ((wow)) by it for the size and sound. Movie,Sports and Video games is just so life like it unreal. I'm very happy with it. Anyone who is reading this should go hear it first before you knock ...
Pros: Looks, sound quality, processing, bass, sturdy build-quality. Cons: Price, but it has great resale value and selling it is easy.
I have no idea what these other people are talking about, but this system sounds and looks absolutely astonishing. It has the deepest bass, clear highs, and great compatibility with my video i-pod. The DVD/CD player is amazing. It stores tons of ...
Pros: Small sized powerful speakers, good picture. Cons: Not as good as it should for the asked price.
I was in the USA 2 years a go during my travels and I had a chance to look, see and hear the "life style system. When I came into the the bose store I was invited to a show room to see the "amazing life style system" :) as the sales man called it. ...
Pros: Small footprint in a living room. Somewhat ok sound for the size.
Cons: LAN jack is not active
I've had LifeStyle 48 System for almost a year. I was very excited to buy it. At the begging the sound was great until I heard other speakers... The size of the systems is great - small compare to other systems. Bose is doing a relatively good job as far ...
Pros: Love the great sound from compact speakers. Cons: Everything good canceled out by known bugs because Bose won't spend profit to fix it.
I've had 2 Bose lifestyle systems over the last several years and have always found it unbeatable to get great sound from such a small package. However, my first Lifestyle system 25 did not have a DVD player, so I wasn't aware of the issues surrounding ...
Pros: Great sound for music and movies. Surrounds are wireless by adding a transmitter and receiver. Cons: Expensive but I have two years to pay for it with no interest.
This Bose system sounds great for movies and music. Watching movies on DVD look fantastic. This Bose product is very easy to setup and use.
I bought this system because of limited space in my two story family room. I have a forty inch high definition television in one corner of the room. I'm able to place these Jewel speakers, Acoustimass module and Lifestyle system, in a small space.
The ADAPTIQ audio calibration is user friendly. It has adapted the speakers and sound to my listening environment.
Pros: Brilliant sound. Access to anything in your collection within seconds. Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Heard it in the store and was blown away. The system lets me hear things I've not heard before on my CDs.The ability to access any track throughout my entire CD collection with one remote is great for me as I have MS and handling discs is troublesome. Everyone who comes and hears it is well impressed.
Pros: Discreet, easily expandable, easy to use, easy to install. Cons: Maybe alittle pricey. But then show me another system this small and punches heavy weight.
The system has been problem free.
When an issue has cropped up about using the functions on the system. I have found that very helpful and polite people are at the other end of the phone. The customer service is excellent.
Included in the price there should be a remote that shows you, your stored music. Instead you will need to part with an extra £150 and buy it separately. Having this remote makes the system very simple to use.
Pros: Easy set up, calibration, Tech manual reads well and sounds great on regular music. Cons: If I knew it would't play HD discs, I would think twice.
My recent purchase of the Bose System 48 was to hook it up with my Pioneer 50" HD plasma...all went well, except the Bose does not play HD DVD's ! I kept getting an error message " Format Not Supported " nice.....all that coin and it doesn't even play HD ! What gives ? ???
Pros: Great sound, Expandable, Compact, one component does it all. Cons: To expensive, expensive to expand.
I trust Bose as being an innovator with some of the best sound systems available. It is very easy to install and it's one compact system. Excellent customer support. They make you feel like a member of their family.
Unexpected crappy sound from a $4000 system. by kudou_shinichi ,Aug 11 '06
Pros: maybe the bass, but not good enough for its size Cons: bad sound, bad look, bad price, speakers are too small, subwoofer is too big.
I did not buy the product, these are my opinions after my testing the speakers.I went to a compusmart store to buy something for christmas for me,then I saw the Bose Lifestyle 48 System.I was curious about how a $4000 speaker system sounds like, then I did some testing of the speakers(I pretended I wanted to buy a home theatre system)Boy,they sounded awful(the bass was ok),my creative computer speaker that cost $60 sounds better than that speaker(subwoofer excluded)The receiver had a lack of expandability. It only had some common video outputs and some other common audio outputs.
So I say don't buy this system.A Electrohome 5.1 Home Theatre that cost $49.99 in factorydirect is better than this system(again, except the subwoofer). If you want good sound, buy some other systems, but definitely not this one.
Buy something like Sony,Panasonic,or Yamaha.
Last words,I seriously think Bose should make bigger speakers, not these smaller ones. What's the point of hiding the speakers? You should be showing off your large speakers.Usually when people come to your house and see the small speakers, they'll think the system sucks.Vice versa. And Bose say"Better Sound Through Research".I seriously think they should think about "Better Sound Through Larger Speakers"
