Ive been a dedicated electric shaver user since high school having learned at the earliest shaving age that placing a razor sharp blade against my throat first thing in the morning was not a wise decision, me not being a morning person and all. ...
To preface this, I’ve been using Panasonic electric shavers since I first started shaving. I’ve never used a blade or any other brand. I was sucked in by their mesmerizing speeds and foil designs. So after nicking myself on my 4 yr old (top of the ...
Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean & carry Cons: Fluid for cleaning is flammable, strong and costly.
I had never been a fan of electric razors. I would get bad irritation and a poorly shaved faced. I tried the Mach 3 non-electric razor and was sold. My wife found out that Macys had these on sale and asked me to try to it. I am thoroughly impressed ...
Pros: Does an exceptional job shaving your face. Cons: Is a big noisy but no worse than other shavers.
I think it's important to distinguish between shaves like a blade and having an end product like that of a blade. The 8995 didn't get my tougher hairs on the first pass like a blade, but it did get them after some concentration on the tougher areas. In ...
Pros: Looks nice. Great automatic cleaner. LCD on front of razor is nice. Cons: Way overpriced. Not the best electric cutting system. Trimmer seems inadequate for side-burns.
I was so excited to get my new razor, I waited 3 days to shave. Monday came, I was all charged up and ready to go. Half-way into my shave I wondered if this razor was worth the (approx. 185.00) price tag.The razor cut very ...
Pros: Close shave, clean razor each shave, Cool LCD and info. Cons: Pricey, Noisy, and Noisy cleaner.
I have been using the Braun 8995 for 4 weeks now after switching from my old Norelco, and I love the new Braun. With my old shaver I had to shave with a real razor twice a week because of the areas that it could not get, since using the Braun I have only ...
Pros: cutterblock system, quieter, easy to get parts Cons: Cost of cleaning solution (although probably comparable to a blade)
This is for the model 8995, and I've had this shave for about 16 months and just replaced the foil and cutter block. I have used foil shavers exclusively for about 20 years and have found this model to be the best yet. The new style cutter is ...
Pros: Engineering, features, clean shave Cons: None that I have found at this writing.
I have been shaving with blades for the past 30 years and because of my job it's become impractical to lather up every morning. I used my son's Panasonic wet shaver and came away unimpressed and never gave electrics another thought until last week when ...
Pros: Very smooth, close shave. Little effort. Holds a long charge. Cons: A little less expensive would have been nice.
I have never bothered to write a review for anything before, but this shaver is so good that I just had to make an exception.I`ve been using a Norelco for quite some time and have been reasonably happy. However, when I need a really close shave, I switch to my trusty razor blade. No more!
The 8995 shaves so closely, and with such little effort, that I can say goodbye to blades. It gives you a close shave with just one pass, no going over and over again until you get it all.
It certainly is no cheapy, but is worth the somewhat high cost.If you try this one, I promise you, you won`t be returning it.
Finally an electrical shaver that works for me by winter2006 ,Feb 12 '07
Pros: Smooth shave - as close as a regular razor, long battery life Cons: Only minor stuff - Need to work a bit hard on corners
I have extremely sensitive skin and I used the traditional non-electrical razor which always caused irritation. Tried before the phillips shavers which never worked out for me.
Following an attractive promotion (~$150) at comp-u-plus , I got this one. Have used for the past 6 months and can't find a bad thing to say about it. Finally no irritation and clean smooth shaves.
Battery life is sufficient for a full week.
Supplies (cleaning liquid) are kinda pricey but look for deals. You can get good deals on Amazon.
Not perfect, but close! by probertdd9779 ,Oct 30 '07
Pros: cleaning system great, cuts good, noise is acceptable Cons: misses some hairs on neck, cleaning system takes awhile and is a little noisy
I owned a Phillips Norelco for years -- i really liked the circular blades, but Phillips doesn't have good product support. I switched to Braun because I read good reviews on epinions for this model and others. Overall, I am very satisfied with this razor. it cuts well, except in some hard angle spots on my neck, which I expected based on other reviews. I didn't think the cleaning feature was that big of a deal, until i experienced it myself. The cleaning system is great, and has a refreshing smell. it cleans the razor impeccably. the carrying case doesn't stay closed that well, so you may want to find something else to carry it in. the cleaning system is a little noisy and takes about 30 minutes, but every morning your blade is ready to go... also braun's online support info seemed much more user friendly
The best of the electric shavers by tlutzy ,Jul 26 '07
Pros: Gets as close as an electric razor can. Very easy to use. Cons: Expensive, as are the cleaning cartridges. Cleaning process is loud.
The Braun 360 (model 8995) does NOT shave as close as a blade. However, it provides the closest shave of any electric shaver I've ever used. It does not get the toughest hairs on my neck without several swipes, pushing hard, and even then, it doesn't get them nearly as well as a blade. But I still love it because it's easy to use and does as good a job as I need it to except on those rare days when I wear a tie and want a closer shave on my neck. I like the self-cleaning aspect, though the cleaning cartridges are pricey. I clean it every two or three times, not every time.
Best Electric Shaver I've Owned by fatz2fly ,Feb 12 '08
Pros: Close shave without razor burn. Good trimmer design. Cons: Pricey. Bulky charger w/o folding prongs. Not ergonomically shaped.
After forty years as a Remington man, I switched to the Braun 360 and love it. I don't use the wash system, but the shaver itself is excellent.
There are two improvements Braun could make to the design. First, the charger should have folding blades for move convenient travel storage. Second, the razor could be more ergonomically shaped and have a non-skid grip.
Despite those two points, this is the shaver to buy if your budget can bear the cost.
