Pros: Great light metering, good battery life, easy display menu, fast start-up time. Very lite. Cons: Dim display in daylight, needs 30 fps on video mode. Needs independent zoom controls.
I've been tossing around the idea of a point and shoot digital for a while. It's hard for me, I'm an old school purist film photographer. I was at a local retail store the other day and they had a clearance table set up with stacks of cameras they were ...
Pros: It's a Canon for less than $120 - quality Cons: battery life
Canon Powershot A410, who would have thought a couple of years ago that you would be able to buy a Canon digital camera for less than $120? Well, you can now, sitting down at the bottom of the A series is the A410 and you get quite a lot of camera for ...

The PowerShot: Perfect for anyone wanting an affordable camera! by iluvhippos11 ,Jan 21 '06
Pros: small, affordable, easy point and shoot, lightweight Cons: no sound, uses batteries easily
My old camera used to be heavy, and a pain to take around places. With this camera...I can take it practically anywhere and get good quality shots! This camera has great resolution and many functions. With the normal function, you can get great normal shots in daylight or nighttime. You can also set this camera to wait a couple seconds(you choose just how long) and take up to 15 shots(you also choose how many)! It is very easy to figure out, and not complicated at all! I would definitely recommend this PowerShot to any low-budget photographer! Unfortunately, it does have some down sides. The video feature does not record sound, and the camera quickly drains the batteries of their life. It's still an excellent camera, though!
Hope you purchase this camera for either yourself or someone you know!
An affordable and dependable product by loga16 ,Jun 19 '08
Pros: Looks good, fun, simple, AA batteries Cons: Small screen, not too many megapixels
Canon knows how to make a digital camera. This one has good zoom power and looks cool. It uses AA batteries, so you can take it with you to the woods, and take photos for hours. It's not too small, so there's something to get a grip on. Highly recommended.
Good low end no frills camera by spartan1998 ,Jan 10 '06
Pros: small, inexpensive, quick, good quality prints Cons: Batteries don't last very long (I don't know how this compares to other cameras).
I was looking for a supplement to the Canon Rebel digital XT. I needed something small to take anywhere and easy to use. My wife uses this as her camera and she likes it's simplicity and small size. Also, because it uses AA batteries you won't be stuck when the battery runs out.
I tested many other models in the store and I noted that this camera was even faster than the slightly more expensive Pro shot canons. (faster= less lag time between pushing the button and the camera shooting the photo). It also does have some scene features (portrait, landscape etc..).
The picture quality is great! I will mostly only use this camera to print 4x6 pics and for that it is as good as any high end digital camera. I developed a couple 5x7 pics just to see if the 3.2 MP could handle it. Even the 5x7's were excellent quality (even in very low light with a flash).
Pros: Ease of use. Cons: Slight shutter lag. Definitely need an SD card with more memory.
My first digital camera. So easy to use and download pictures to your computer. The pictures are crisp. The memory chip is easy to erase. This is such a user-friendly camera.
Canon PowerShot A410 Digital Camera by yjusa ,Dec 06 '05
Pros: Very good 3.2 meg. Digital zoom is really sharp better then some 5.1 meg. Cons: Non. Hoping for 4.0 meg for later at this price on this model.
Ok here it is! Will you go search for better digital camera because it's only under $120 with 3.1 meg, no optic zoom?
Wrong. this is very good quality product it has many many good technology built-in like more high price one. It can recorder 180sec of digital movies at 640 x 480 (VGA)when you forgot to bring that digital movie camcorders on that special events. It will save that time with low price to carry around $99.
One must need to do is Set that "ISO auto" setting to manually ISO 400S for fast action shots. Because Auto ISO takes extra time to focus to take shots at it. Did you know that extra money you spend is for fast auto focus features and more digitally processed pixels? I'm happy with just 3.2meg. It still clearly shows that hidden spot on inside the pictures, if you know what I mean.
The digital zoom quality on this is superior over more expansive products accept Canon products, of course.
Upgrades are must for any digital cameras- I recommending- please get that re-chargeable battery for 2600mAH MiMH for longer usage and upgrade to 1G Compact flash memory.
Pros: Value for money, Canon quality, simple operation, good photos. Cons: Flimsy, fiddly battery/memory card door.
The Canon A410 is simple enough for a six-year-old
(my daughter) to use in point and shoot mode, but
it also has plenty of adjustable features (ISO speed,
exposure compensation, light balance, drive mode...)
for more experienced users. It "only" has
3 megapixels, but that should be just fine for
6 x 4 inch prints and still leave room for cropping.
All in all, a really excellent starter digital camera.
