Pros: Their automatic payment system worked flawlessly in making sure they got their money on time. Cons: Deplorable service. No interest in sending the lien release paperwork once a loan is paid.
I originally financed my car loan from another company, but they were purchased by Capital One Auto. So, I can't speak for Capital One's application process, but I can tell you that when my loan was paid it took them forever to get the lien release ...

Pros: Fast approval, all on-line, low rate, check in 24 hours. Cons: Getting customer service on the phone is a challenge.
This is my second experience with Capital One auto-finance. I spent 10 minutes and applied on-line at 7pm EST and had a check in the mail the next AM at 10. The rates are competitive, and I have always made my payments on time (and over payed) so I ...

Pros: Advertised low rates. Don't know if they deliver. Cons: Non-existant customer serviced coupled with the fact they have LIED on several issues.
I applied online with this 'outfit' via Costco. They had the lowest interest rate I could find. I'm 50 years old with spotless credit. I pulled my three credit reports prior to applying and one of my credit scores just to see what it was. Experian ...

Pros: Quick Approval
Better leverage when negotiating with dealer Cons: none
OK here is the deal. While paying my Capital One credit card, I noticed the Auto Finance link, so I went there, filled out the little form in like 3 minutes, and in 15 minutes I had my approval, and at a much lower rate than my current load. Then I ...

Pros: Few and far between. As of Nov 2006 absolutely NO PROS. Cons: After you get the loan and are in the system, they treat you like crap.
NOVEMBER 2006 UPDATE The saga continues. In early August Capital One actually was able to set up the account for on-line payment. And, I made a payment for September. I began to think that maybe, just maybe, there was some small possibility that ...

Pros: Will make other stresses in your life seem reasonable after dealing with these people.. Cons: Cons... funny..they con you into thinking you are approved when you are not..
Wow... So I went to a dealer to buy a car.. found the one I wanted... I currently have financing via Capital One so the dealership decides to go with them.. My rate goes up 3% from the current rate and I am confused.. End up going on line later to get my ...

Pros: EASY TO GET AUTO LOAN. Cons: NOT SO EASY TO CASH THEIR CHECK.
I APPLIED FOR A CAPITAL ONE AUTO LOAN . IT WAS VERY EASY. SEEMED TO BE THE FASTEST LOAN I HAVE HAD APPROVED. I WAS APPROVED IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS. I REALLY COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW EASY AND FAST IT WAS. ON CAPITAL ONE'S WEBSITE IT STATED THAT YOU ...

Pros: Absolutely NONE. Cons: Poor Customer Service, Shady business practices.
I went online to shop for a loan for a used car and at the top of the list was Cap One Auto Finance and I was approved for over $15,000 easily. THE "CHECK"arrived in the mail quickly and I bought the car with it and included "Gap Coverage." Then this ...

Pros: Quick "approval" Cons: Once "approved" you and the seller commit, which puts them in control.
They promise quick service, and give you a quick approval, but once you're committed to them you're on the hook. Getting new customers is a lot more important to Capital One than taking care of deals in progress. Any tiny detail that they find ...

Pros: The only pro I can give is that I will soon be rid of them. Cons: They are the worst people I have ever had a loan with, difficult and obnoxious.
When Wachovia Bank (New Orleans) turned over their auto loans to Capital One my problems started. I make my payments at the first of the month by web payments through my bank (Chase). I found several months later I had "missed" a payment, which I found ...

Pros: none Cons: Totally uncaring customer service
On July 6th, 2007 I refinanced my car loan with Capital One. The Loan and Security Agreement stated that they would refinance me for $7515.00 at 11.95%. with 36 payments of $249.01. That was what I agreed to and I sent them the signed contract papers. ...

Pros: Possible quick approval.
Competitive rates Cons: Blank check is not just like cash.
Misleading advertising.
Deceptive practices.
Horrible customer service.
I can say that most of people’s bad experiences here are most likely true. I just recently filed a complaint with my states Attorneys General office due to Capital One's deceptive practices and questionable advertising. I have very good credit and was ...

Pros: NONE! Cons: It's a racket.
These People are scam artists. They are not members on any Better Business Bureau and are apparently under investigation by the Federal Reserve. If you have electronic debit set up, they miss auto drafts and not only will they charge you late fee after ...

Pros: There really arent any. Cons: Outsourced customer service, outsourced customer service, and worst of all outsourced customer service.
Wow, where do I start with this cracker jack group of folks. I recently lost my vehicle due to a flood, and due to the loss of my gap insurance, there was going to be a remaining balance left over that I'm required to pay. Sounds simple? yeah if you're ...

Pros: They cash our check in an average time Cons: Misapplied payments and they do not respond to your questions - awful to deal with.
I have been trying to get Capital One to correct a misapplied payment since July 2006. For some unknown reason - they applied all of our payment to principal - none towards interest. Then the next payment we made they charged us interest of over 60 ...
