Pros: Beautifully made, big screen, fairly easy to use. Cons: Picture quality may be bettered by bigger lenses on lower resolution cameras.
This is an 8.1 Million Pixel mini digital camera. Sounds great doesn't it? More pixels = better quality? Well yes, all other things being equal this is true. But in the context of a mini camera like this, the reality is not that simple. There are a ...
Ok, first and foremost, if you intend on traveling, get a traveling battery charger. For carrying the dock will become irritable. If you have laptop, then use the memory reader there to transport the pictures to your laptop and store. I tend to take a ...
I was looking for a new digital camera as my Canon S110 was way out of date. 2.1 megapixels, heavy, boxy, small screen, I had to get with the times. As I was looking around reviews, I finally set my eye between the Casio EX-Z850 and Canon SD600. I ...
Pros: Compact, Lots of settings, Amazing battery life Cons: Poor Video Quality
What a compact camera! Have never seen a camera so small yet so rich in features! Got it for $294 (incl leather case) plus $35 for shipping on e-bay. Purchased Mack 5 yr warranty for $35 and a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card for $80...the whole package incl ...
Pros: Resolution/ease of use/incomparable battery life Cons: None
I usually read lots of reviews and pay high attention to tech-data and articles before making any purchase. Well, this time I skipped the rule. While heading to the store, I was determined to purchase the T9 Sony camera when I run onto the Casio EX-Z850 ...
Pros: Compact size, good picture quality in good light, variety of features. Cons: Needs better high ISO performance; let us choose from a range of apertures!
This camera has features only found in more expensive cameras, such as manual shutter/aperture control, aperture priority AE, shutter priority AE, manual white balance controls, adjustable focus and metering modes, manual focus mode, etc. If you're an ...
Pros: Separate button for still pics and movies - NICE! Cons: none
I bought this camera when it first came out and I loved it right away... but I'd been buying Exilim cameras for a few years now. I love the widescreen, but they could do a better job of using the entire screen for picture review (some of the screen is ...
Pros: Large screen; multiple preset photo options; easy to use Cons: Buttons and dial may be too small for some people
Casio got it right this time with a great camera that appeals to the novice user and beyond. This camera is priced right to include such features as the Best Shot option that allows the user to select a setting based on the subject that will be ...
Pros: Good display, excellent zoom, good pictures. Cons: clumsy to hold, dumb docking station, useless software.
There is a lot in the design of cameras that is subjective, especially as they get smaller. In particular, this Casio has a lot of very nice features, and its compact enough to fit smoothly into a shirt pocket, but it was a bit cumbersome for me to ...
Pros: Size, picture quality, features, looks, rechargeable battery Cons: Quality (trash). Even if you baby it like I did, its going to break.
When I bought my first Casio digital camera, I was very impressed, but initial impressions of most things are pretty good. This is why I NEVER offer my review of something right after I buy it, and this is the exact reason why. My first Casio camera ...
Pros: View finder, fits in purse or pocket, simple, video w/ sound, voice recording feature Cons: Picture doesn't rotate by turning camera, can't fix red eye after picture is taken, fragile
I have owned my Casio EX-Z850 for a few years now. And I never leave home without it. It's compact enough to fit in just about any purse or even a coat pocket. The picture quality is excellent. It is super simple to ...
Pros: Quick recovery, eye-level viewfinder, large bright LCD, soft flash feature and ease of operation. Cons: Could improve camera by increasing the wide angle/telephoto range.
This is my second Casio, the first being the Z750 which I wore out in tropical climate. The Z850 offers many features not on the Z750, including: easy to read flash menu with a "softflash" for close-ups, easy set-up. I especially wanted a small camera that had a viewfinder in addition to the LCD viewing screen, and the Casio is one of very few that offers this feature. Although the LCD screen is large and bright, viewing through a screen in sunlight is sometimes difficult if not impossible, which is why the viewfinder is important to me. I find the quality of prints excellent as I shoot my images at highest resolution with no evidence of excessive noise. I love the size, simplicity of use and quick focus feature. If there is a negative, it might be the short telephoto range otherwise, I find the Casio Z850 exactly to my liking and expectations.
Disappointing Picture quality by vachin ,Apr 10 '07
Pros: Load of features Cons: Disappointing still colour contrast
I own an old Exilim 3.2 Meg Pix camera and happy with the picture quality. I then bought Z850 (China made) for upgrades. However Z850 takes a poor still picture quality as comparred its ansestor Exilim 3.2Meg Pix. The contrast ratio is disappoiting.I tried all possible setting (Contrast, presets, EV) they are the same. I even upgraded the firmware to 1.2 or 1.2B. Still no improvement in Still picture! How disappointing.
Camera froze after taking 3 pictures by atpilot ,Apr 27 '06
Pros: Size and features Cons: Does NOT work after 3 shots
Got the camera 5 days ago for a trip abroad. Store assured me it had a worldwide "tourist warranty". After charging the battery I managed to shoot 3 pictures when the screen went dark and the camera froze with the lens open. Pressing the Power button beeps and flashes a green light but nothing else happens.
The Casio web site shows no service center for where I am staying. Called the US 800 no. and was told to send it back to the US for repair. What a SHAM.
Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z850 Digital Camera by riaz28 ,Mar 09 '07
Pros: Big LCD Cons: No great improvement form previous model
Not a great improvement for their previous model the EX-Z750. The EX-Z850 is loaded with the same features; the only difference I can see is the additional megapixel which is not a big deal. Like the Z700 it has great features that let you take out passport size pictures very uniquely and advance lighting setting.
