Pros: Hours (Open 7 days, often late)
Fast Deposits
Convenient Locations Cons: Long Lines
Unexpected Fees
Clueless Reps
Before I begin, I would just like to state that I agree with both sides of the Fee argument. On one hand, living paycheck-to-paycheck is no way to go through life and you really need better budgeting skills and on the other, the increase in the number of ...
Pros: Best rates in town,, no fine print, cool perks, nice customer service, overall very good. Cons: Slightly unorganized, new employees need more training.
PROS: Commerce Bank is definitely the best deal around. Free banking, no minimum balance required, unlimited check writing and unlimited transactions. No fine print - it is what it is, really. The locations are popping up in Manhattan -- I would...
I had previously posted a very negative review about the computer operations for servicing on line customers. The review was deserved based on what I experienced at the time, however, I need to update this review to reflect the very positive ...
Pros: I don't know. Lollipops? Cons: Duplicitous management strategies designed to take money from the poorest of customers.
Commerce is just like any other bank, except worse. Other banks make no bones about being money-making corporations, while Commerce postures as though it is your "Neighborhood Bank." Unfortunately, it is not, as anyone who makes very little money found ...
Pros: Outstanding customer service, extended hours Cons: No branches outside of the NY/NJ/PA/DE area
The review from Sept 10 '02 eloquently explains why Commerce Bank is hands-down the best bank around. Without repeating too much of it, I'd like to add that as of April 2004, the same is still true. Commerce has expanded its markets a bit since that ...
Pros: nothing now Cons: Underpaid and unqualified employees, long lines, system glitches, hidden fees
Commerce bank is slowly transforming their consumer friendly business into business of ripping you off! The "totally free" checking is now riddled with hidden charges and fees! Enter the "cycle service charge": Date 04/29/2007 Sender ...
Pros: Next day availability! Late hours. Rapid deposit. Cons: Poor service! False advertisement! NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!!! TOO MANY REQUIREMENTS!!!
I just opened a business account in Aug 2007. I depend on ACH payments to operate my business. I kept my previous bank so I could still make ACH payments until I get approved by commerce. Now, in Oct 2007, they declined the ACH option on my account. I ...
Pros: Live Assistance on Phone Cons: Lake of supervision, Service Fee, Penny Arcade
Commerce Bank has recently merged with TD bank. Beware of the changes to come! Commerce was always known for their great customer service and long hours. They are known as a retail bank. They do not have free checking accounts, as if you go below 100 ...
Pros: Late hours, many branches, open on Sunday Cons: THIRTY THREE DOLLAR overdraft fee, not seeing customers and individuals just dollar signs.
I Have been a faithful Commerce Bank banker for about 3 years now. I faithfully have my direct deposits put in every other week. In my experience Commerce does not see you as a person just another $$$. This pay period, my car loan automatically got ...
Pros: No any longer. Good luck those that stay. Cons: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I have banked with Commerce Bank in New Jersey for over 15 years. Until the past year I have been 110% overjoyed with the service I have received. But recently I feel that Commerce no longer cares about their customers. You know, the little people that ...
I had them when I lived in Delaware (yuk yuk yuk) and kept them when I moved to Los Angeles. I had no problems with them. I did everything online, except for my deposits. They sent me postaged envelopes for my deposits. they overnighted my debit card when I lost mine. They are very good at handling Regulation E claims.
Terrible Terrible Terrible SERVICE by jjeske ,Nov 03 '06
Pros: Open 7 days a week, free coin counting machines and no teller fees. Cons: Customer service is a nightmare, their staff is poorly trained and make frequent mistakes.
After three years I am switching my banking from Commerce due to extremely poor customer service. Their tellers are poorly trained, they do not know how to deal with anything unusual besides straight deposits. They did not deposit a series of checks for over four hours after my deposit and then tried to lie about it, I have been hung up on by a supervisor twice. They also have added many fees to their "free checking" with no notice and no explanation. They almost seem to have contempt for their customers, very unprofessional and disrespectful. If there is a problem with your account they can NEVER give you a straight answer to the problem until you insist upon speaking with a manager. A terrible bank that I can't wait to get rid of, they do have nice coin counting machines though!
Pros: Great Customer Service, Convenience Cons: Only available in the northeast (I am thinking of moving west)
I switched to Commerce Bank several years ago now after years with HSBC that began socking me with high fees. I first went to Netbank but wanted to have an actual branch available to do my banking when I needed more complex transactions or assistance. Since going with Commerce I find the service to have been excellent at every branch, the online banking is easy and convenient, and in general very customer focused.
Great Easy to use Bank. Internet could be better by mikebarone83 ,Jan 20 '06
Pros: Hours, branches, low fees, friendly staff Cons: Internet banking is nice but could be more secure
Being that I am both a Bank of America and Commerce Bank customer. As far as service goes, Commerce is #1. Great hours, friendly people, nice branches. They do need to offer more generous accounts to their customers, especially in the savings department. If you are looking for an easy to use bank, thats no hassle, and you don't care about investing at the bank you do your checking. Commerce is a good choice
