Continental SportContact Passenger/Performance Tire

Pros: Excellent performance tires for fast cars. Pls. note that those are summer tires.
Cons: expensive

I have installed Continental SportContact on my 2001 BMW 740i (235/50ZR18 on the front axle and 255/45ZR18 on the rear axle). I'm very much satisfied. Those are excellent ultra high performance tires !!! I can absolutely recommend those tires.

Pros: Reasonably priced, performs well in various conditions and at various speeds.
Cons: Short tread life, mine failed after only 22,000 miles.

I have no complaints about this tire's performance. It held up well in various driving conditions. However, after only 22,000 miles of mostly moderate driving two of them failed (one was an actual blowout). I promptly replaced all of them with with Michelin Pilot Sport brand.

Pros: Good grip on hot pavement. Quiet.
Cons: Tread pattern and rubber is absolutely not for colder weathers or snow.

I used to drive VW Jetta in about 1992-93 using those tires. (They were offerd that time in Europe)

They are good for drifter car if you have more ambitious technique of driving.

These are summer (hot pavement) tires. Don't even try them in winter or your accident is almost guarenteed (just a matter of time). They don't grip snow at all and spin on snow at any throttle position (no gentle acction helps). The rubber hardens like hell in colder weathers.

I bought them because they were far less expensive (that time) than Michelins considered a reference in that period of time and geographic location. Yet they delivered a lot comparing to any Michelins. I could not find OEM tires for Jetta (don't remember that German sounding name now) and it was some less known brand probably acquired by some large tire manufacturer.
