Pros: Harness to 65 lbs and booster to 100 lbs, low price Cons: None for us
I have to admit that I have been waiting for an excuse to buy a Cosco Safety 1st Apex Car Seat. The Little Guy just barely fits in his i
nfant
car seat. We decided to move him into our 2 ˝ year olds Evenflo ...
Pros: Affordable, Harness up to 65 lbs, Easy to install Cons: Vehicle must have a headrest
My 2 year old has been using this seat for about six months now. I really wanted to find a seat that would keep her harnessed for as long as possible. After doing some research I found that there are only a handful of seats that harness past 40 lbs. ...
Pros: 5 point harness to 65 pounds, sturdy, lightweight, easy to install, and roomy Cons: Doesn't recline, immovable armrests, won't make it to 65 pounds for tall or thick kids
I bought this seat for my 3.5 year old daughter when she reached 40 pounds and outgrew her other booster's internal harness maximum. I was debating between this seat and the Graco Nautilus. They both have the 65 pound maximum internal harness ...
Pros: Optional Toddler Padding, 65 Lb. Harness Weight Limit, Can Get It Really Tight Cons: A Bit Big, Too Tall For Bench Seats
We just purchased this seat because our Britax Roundabout was getting too small for our 19 month old son. His head was right at the top and he just seemed squished in it. He wanted to sit in it right away, and he loved how big and comfy it was. The ...
Pros: Converts to a booster after child outgrows the harness. Cons: must have adjustable head rest.
I bought this for my 3 year old and Im so happy this seat can keep him harnessed for a long time. He is using the third slots so he needs one more to go which can be years :). Even his six year old sister fits on the top harness . This is a great seat ...
Pros: 5pt. harness to 65 lbs, head wings, separate crotch buckles Cons: straps get twisted, arm rests are not movable
I bought this seat for my daughter and at age 4 she easily buckles herself in and out, which is a dream with that 3rd row seat. So, naturally when my son was too big for his toddler seat I bought another Apex seat. My son is huskier than my daughter and ...
This car seat held up in a rear end accident by jswede4722 ,Feb 02 '07
Pros: Held up in car accident, padding, great design Cons: belts so thick that they were hard to thread through the car seat.
Our son is very tall for his age. At 2 years old, he is 3'5". The whole car issue is a nightmare for us.
The seat is nice but our model was raised a bit. Therefore our son could kick the back of our seats. It also came with a 5 point harness which doesn't jive with the market they are selling to.
None the less, this was an easy seat to install. The directions are pretty clear. Our son was comfortable for the most part. It has pull out cup holders, a soft headrest and arm covers. The straps are very thick and do not twist easily. My only complaint was that they were extremely difficult to thread through as we started to use the slacking mechanism.
We had the car seat four months when we were rear ended at a decent speed. It held him in the seat and he suffered no injuries what so ever. We looked it over as we threw it out. No noticible damage.
Great seat! Great price! by jillalison ,May 04 '07
Pros: **Comfortable, soft padding/cover
**Nice buckles/clasps
**Cupholder Cons: Pull off sleeves on the armrests!
I purchased this booster seat when my son outgrew with Evenflo Triumph 5-40lb carseat.
He's still only about 35 lbs, however, he's tall enough that his head was reaching the top of the Triumph, and although he hadn't reached the weight limit for the seat, it didn't seem as safe anymore.
My son sits SO comfortably in this seat, and absolutely loves it.
We've traveled the entire East coast, and he's comfortably sat and slept in it the entire 10 hour drive w/ nearly no complaints!!!
This car seat will not fit children up to 65 pounds. It has the same harness in it that all safety 1st car seats have. They fit up to 40 pounds only. This company can not offer larger harnesses or provide extensions for them.
The shoulder strap is not adjustable either. If the child is not 40 inches tall in the shoulder strap, the strap will fall across the child's neck. The seat is made of a very slippery fabric and the child will slide down and won't remain in the correct safety position. This is not a very well designed seat and therefore I don't recommend it to anyone.
trouble fitting in vehicle by christygn ,Jun 04 '06
Pros: Great for above average height children. Cons: Does not get a good fit into the seats.
I own a 2001 suburban and I am having difficulty fitting this car seat into both the middle (which is a lap belt only) and outboard seats (which are shoulder belts). I am not sure why but my last car seat had a base to it and it fit great. So I am guessing the reason why it does not fit is because it does not have a flat base to it. I purchased the seat because I have an above average child in height and this was the only seat under $300 that I could find that would fit him.
Pros: Great Price for a car seat up to 65 lbs. Cons: Nowhere to put your hand when you thread the belt through.
It is a good priced car seat that fits a child who is to big for a convertable car seat but to small for a booster seat belt. I just bought this and so far I am happy with it. The only one thing I did not like is that there is no place for you to stick your hand in when you thread the belt through. It fit fine in my 1996 Dodge Caravan. Otherwise it is a good car seat.
Pros: Installs really easy. Holds a child up to 52" and 65lbs. comfortable, nice and wide, Cons:
The crotch strap could be longer, and it is set in a little far back.
I bought this seat when I first heard about it. My son had just turned 6 years old, but I had not been comfortable with his regular booster from the second he moved into it. Getting him back in the 5 point harness was a load off my mind. He is still fitting comfortably and is getting close to 7years old. The average booster seat is REALLY narrow and many kids are big, especially since it is now the law to have a booster til the age of 9.The crotch buckle could have been out a little and a little longer, but that is my only complaint. I have 2 more boys and will have 2 more of these seats as soon as they get a little bigger. For a small child, there isn't much support if they fall asleep, so I'll keep them in their regular toddler seats for now.
