Pros: warranty and durability Cons: could be heavier built
Let me tell you, I was a little bit scared to write an epinion on this saw because this is probably the most dangerous home tool out on the market. If you don't know what you are doing, please read the manual before using this saw. This is my own...

The Craftsman 24820 table saw has some very nice features at an entry-level price. The accuracy of the fence, when properly adjusted, will please the average woodworker and easily exceed most needs of the weekend handyman. The saw is adequately ...
Pros: Affordable, warranty, durable, ease of use Cons: No chip shoot bag, lightweight, small cutting surface
If you are not careful with this saw, you could a body part. If you do not know what you are doing, do not buy this product. This is not for a beginner. Highly recommend you learn how to use one of these before you purchase one. The best time of the...
Pros: easy to use, good accurate cuts, very good value for the price Cons: Needs light on both sides of table to help read settings, Plastic handle on rip fence will come off in you hand.
Do you need a table saw? Well, do you do any wood work at all? Then you need a table saw. This saw will serve the needs of the beginner and will give good service to the advanced woodworker too.
Pros: Price, portability, ease of use Cons: Blade controls are a bit stiff; assembly instructions overly verbose
I needed a portable and storable table saw for occasional use priced under $250 and found that the Craftsman 24848 fit the bill. I compared it to saws from Ryobi, Delta, Skil and Makita in the $100 to $300 price range. The Craftsman and Delta seemed the...
Pros: Long-lasting, works well Cons: Craftsman is usually mediocre quality, safety button is annoying!
I received an older model of this table saw as a gift 10 years ago. It was my first power woodworking tool, and it has served me faithfully for a decade. I have had issues with Craftsman tools purchased recently, and I am wary to recommend the brand, ...
Pros: Better then nothing. Cons: Belt guard needs a small pan head screw to keep it solid. Miter gauge handle is cheap and broke off in my hand when I just picked it up.
I live on the Island of Guam in the Western Pacific. You can imagine how difficult it would be to have something shipped over here. I contacted Grizzly Tools to see how much they would charge me to have their top of the line contractors saw sent over...
1) Besides all the advertised features, I purchased this saw because of the mobile base and router table. They both serve their purpose clumbsily.
2) The Table saw, as a table saw works excellent. The blade on mine already needs replacing but I have a spare. The guard is flimsy and gets in the way. Forget the guard Craftsman, we won't sue!
3) The router table works.
4) The mobile stand works.
5) The fence... Now this is the reason to purchase this saw (besides the belt driven powerhouse behind the table). The fence is the most awesome part of this table. Automatically alligns, always true, what a beautiful fence. The right blade, the Craftsman fence and the power is what makes this a great saw. Forget the gimmes!

Pros: Stable smooth operation. Good dust control. Locally available( for me). Heavy/stable. Cons: Fence could use some improvement. Micro adjustment knob doesn't work well.
Assembly was pretty easy with decent instructions. I have owned it for two years now and it has served me very well. Had to order parts once and Sears customer service was helpful and effecient. I adjusted the rip fence to give me extra capacity on the right side. I don't feel the extra capacity on the left is necesary. The upgraded miter gauge is helpful and very useful. The saw is very stable with minimal vibration even with a fully stacked dado setup. The fence is ok. It does have some deflection towards the end but I don't think it is a major issue. The micro adjustment knob is useless. Sears often has good sale pricing on there new line of woodworking machinery. This makes them an overall good value to the weekend woodworker/ diyer. This saw also comes with a decent blade.

Pros: Great value, excellent rip fence accuracy, nice router attachments. Cons: Steel blade, steel right wing,
I love this table saw! The most important part of any shop is a table saw. The most important parts of any table saw are the rip fence (accuracy) and motor (horse power). The fence is dead on every time. The fence operate with easy. The rear mount motor is offers a smooth operation (1 hp). As my skills grow, upgrading the motor will be easy, if needed. The cast iron top & wings are perfectly aligned with the base unit and rip fence guides.
I did not like the right steel wing, so I requested a cast iron one. The blade guard is cumbersome to remove & install when switching blades, but it works well. I ended up making minor alteration to open the eye hole on the guard under the throat plate. Now it works better.
The router attachments are an excellent feature for simple router work. The steel blade supplied is a nice wall ornament for any shop. The dust collection bag is as good as any bag. The wheel base supplied works well, however it adds an additional 2" to the overall height.
The miter gauge that comes with the saw is of very poor quality. You can't replace it because the miter slot is non-standard. Thisalso means you cannot get any after market add-ons. I would not recommend this saw or any Craftsman say for this reason.
