Pros: great tasting coffee, look cool Cons: Not all parts have a warranty
Bought this coffee maker about a month ago, love it with the exception of one problem
. the carafe. The carafe leaks on occasions (dont how it determines which occasion it will leak on). The leak is between the glass and the plastic rim where ...

Pros: Nice design & look, easy to use, makes great coffee Cons: glass carafe, mine only lasted 16 months
I bought this Cuisinart 12cup Coffee maker May 2006 at Bed & Bath for $80 & used the 20% coupon. I figured the brand was well known & of good quality. The design & look of this appliance is rather nice & modern. Black & silver blends into most ...

Pros: Sturdy construction great price at Costco Cons: lid on the pot and water reservoir
I just bought mine for $49.99 at CostcoI had a great little Braun for 9 years and it made a good cup of coffee but it finally burnt out and being the coffee hound I am I went online and did some research. Well the Brew Central poped up on here and on ...

Pros: Retro-mod look, great carafe, great coffee, audible alerts can be disabled. Dripless. Cons: Water level in fill chamber hard to read.
I've got the 10-cup thermal carafe version of the Brew Central, which for now is a William Sonoma exclusive (www.williamsonoma.com). Retail there is $129.95. Except for the thermal carafe, it appears to be identical to the 12-cup version...although the ...

The best ever!
by ed123 ,Dec 25 '04
Pros: EVERYTHING! style, great coffee, and it keeps coffee hot. Cons: None
This coffeemaker is without a doubt the best ever! I'm glad I found epinions to help me find it.
Have only had it a few months, but it gets a good workout everyday. Company has commented on the looks, and the excellent taste of the coffee.
For years I would only buy electric percolators. WOW! I am so glad I switched! My wife thinks I'm a genius. :-)
She is always skeptical when I purchase something; but she loves this coffeemaker as much as I do.
I see that some folks seem to think the opening for the water is too small. I have had no problem filling it. The lid goes back far enough to make it fairly easy to just pour the water from the decanter into the well. Cuisinart keeps its record for excellence intact.

Seeya Later Perk-O-Later!
by tfriberg ,Oct 27 '06
Pros: Stylish and well made. Delicious Coffee. Built in water filter. Small batch brewing Cons: A little awkward to fill water resevoir, but I think most are anyway
For the last 10 years, I have been using a small percolator. I recently made the decision to switch to an automatic drip because my wife and I are hosting our first Thanksgiving this year and the small perk would not cut it. Let me cut to the chase...I jumped on this site, looked at all the models and chose this one based on all the reviews (of which I felt compelled to write myself). This is a really good coffeemaker. Maybe there are better but I am completely happy with this model. Makes really delicious coffee, easy to clean, water filter built in, auto timer, small cup brewing, and the decanter is the easiest to pour. I also bought mine refurbished on ebay. Half price and it works like a champ (the only difference was they did not include the gold reusable filter. I like the paper ones better anyway. No cleaning. Bottom line, feel good about ordering the Cuisinart DCC-1200. It will live up to your expectations.

I LOVE this coffee maker!
by dkluchin ,Oct 26 '03
Pros: Stylish appearance, great features! Cons: Purchase of additional water filters may be costly.
After receiving a Krups coffee maker for a wedding gift that broke within 2 years, my husband & I bought this Cusinart coffee maker. I must admit our main reason for selecting this model was it's appearance, stainless steel & stylish. But after having for almost a year now I love all the features and it's makes great coffee! The automatic timer is very handy, you can set the timer and have your cup of joe ready as soon as you come downstairs in the morning. The warming plate can be adjusted from low to high to keep the carafe at a temperature to your liking. The self clean setting lets you know when you need to clean the coffee maker which is supposed to extend the life of your appliance. It also comes with a built in water filter that they recommend you change every 60 days. We use filtered water to make our coffee so we have never changed the filter or attempted to purchase one so I don't know how much they cost. That may be a negative. I would highly recommend this coffee maker to anyone!

brewing problems with this model
by wavewalk ,Jul 22 '04
Pros: Pours well without drips and has good selection of features on maker itself. Cons: Coffee grounds & overflows in the pot and in the coffee maker.
Yes it has all the bells and whistles and looks stylish. However, when brewing 10 cups (or more) this coffee maker tends to overflow ALL THE TIME. At first I loved this coffee maker as it pours well, etc., but the weekly or more occurrences of grounds in the pot and all over the inside of the coffee maker itself makes this a sub-par coffee maker.
I'm looking for another pot this weekend.

A Consistently Solid Performer
by terrapin69 ,Feb 09 '09
Pros: Consistent brews, nice features Cons: Filters are difficult to find at local stores
This Cuisinart coffee maker does what it should and it does it well. For over two years, this brew station has consistently delivered a quality brew with little variation. It comes with a setting for coffee temperature, if needed, a timer, clock, self clean indicator, and an auto-shut off mechanism. The maker uses Cusinart-branded charcoal filters that last approximately 3-4 month depending on usage. Not bad but be advised, they cannot be found everywhere so you may have to order them on-line and that can be annoying - At least to me.
This coffee maker won't disappoint.

Better than expected
by pugilicious ,Dec 19 '03
Pros: Great tasting coffee. Useful features that work. Well made. Good warranty. Attractive. Value for price. Cons: Water reservoir hard to read.
First off, I want to mention that this coffeemaker was my second choice. My first choice was the new KitchenAid Pro Line coffeemaker, but because our kitchen is small and has limited counter space, I "settled" for the Cuisinart. I have to say, I am very pleased with it. It has numerous features (more than the KitchenAid at one-third the price) that actually work. The 1-4 cup setting is great, since it "double heats" the water and makes the coffee nice and hot. The carafe does not drip when you pour a cup, the filter basket is easy to remove and put in, and the coffee doesn't splatter all over the back wall of the unit. And best of all, the coffee flavor is excellent. We like a strong cup of coffee, and this machine does the trick. It also has a nice, compact design. Even though it's rather tall, the space it takes up on the counter is minimal (compared to some coffeemakers that resemble elongated commodes!). The only negative is that the water reservoir markings are hard to read. It also has a 3 year warranty. I'm glad we ended up with the Cuisinart.

BEST EVER!!!!!!!!
by freebird27533 ,Oct 27 '03
Pros: sleek look, nice timer features, very easy to use for me Cons: none that I can find
I do not drink a lot of coffee but a cup or two a day and have always used Mr. Coffee products but a friend of mine bought this one so when I needed a new coffee maker I took his advise and purchased this one also. I can find no problems at all with this product. Some of the reviews state that the coffee is weak and I dont know how strong people are looking for but I only use 8 tbsp per 12 cup pot and it is plenty strong with the capability of 4 more tbsp. Also I use a paper filter with the basket. this holds the water longer and means you dont have to clean the basket. My directions say to use a paper filter so to those who don't maybe try that and see how it works. Anyway I would buy this product again and would highly recommend it to anyone

Love this coffee maker!
by bcmama ,Apr 03 '09
Pros: brews well, looks great Cons: it's impossible to see the water reservoir fill lines and the price-waited for a sale.
I bought this offee maker as a treat to add to our recently remodelled kitchen.
First, it looks great. The stainles is also very easy to clean/keep clean.
It brews delicious coffee, even with the 2-4 serving feature. Strangley, coffee isn't as hot right after brewing as it is if you let it sit about 5 minutes.
Finally, the pot and its handle are sturdier than any other pot I've ever had (and there have been quite a few!).

Love it!!
by jmkrause01 ,Mar 27 '07
Pros: The coffee tastes amazing! Cons: No water level indicator on the front.
I recently purchased this to replace my Mr. Coffee that leaked all over the place. I LOVE this machine, the coffee tastes sooo much better! It is easy to clean, and it is perfect for us. This machine has a timer so you can just get it ready and it will brew for you when you get up. The price was very reasonable, I paid under $60 for this machine at Sam's club, one of the best investments I have made in a long time. If I had to say anything bad about it, it would be that it does not have a water level indicator on the front so you can see how much water you have in the coffee maker, but I just use the carafe, and pour in as much as I need. Another great thing is that sometimes I like to make 4 cups, and it still tastes great!

Great coffee maker
by toelken ,Nov 03 '03
Pros: Great looks, great coffee, pours really well, added features like adjustable hotplate temperature, easy operation. Cons: The clock / timer should be backlit... it is very difficult to read.
I just moved back from Europe and had to buy a new coffee maker. I was a little unsure about this one because of the few reviews which talk about the coffee being weak. I like mine strong.
After looking at what is available, it came down to this one and the Krups Aroma Control. I used to always buy Krups, but in the last few years their quality has really come down. The last Espresso machine I bought, I had to take three of them back. The first and third had broken pieces, the second simply did not work. The fourth one was OK.
In Germany I had a Moulinex coffee maker. This was an OK machine, but the caraff did not pour well at all. One had to pretend to be French, wrinkling the nose and muttering "this machine makes my @$$ twitch" and pour very slowly. Poured best if one was smoking a cigarette and dropped a little ash in the coffee.
Back to the Cuisinart. This machine not only looks beautiful, but the coffee is great... not weak. The caraff pours really well for any ethnic, religious, or cultural configuration.

Great style and function.
by luvdogz ,Jun 22 '04
Pros: Style, excellent HOT coffee and tea, style, style, easy to use. Cons: A little hard to pour water in but not really anything to complain about.
I bought this coffee maker to replace a Bunn I had that started leaking from the bottom. I researched quite a bit and I am VERY happy with my choice. I also make tea in this machine and it makes 10 times better tea than the Bunn did. It seems to make coffee/tea with a higher temp. water.
The style is really great. Every time I walk into the kitchen and look at it, I just love it.
I bought mine from etronics.com for $85.00 which included shipping.
I can't recommend this machine enough!
