Pros: easy to use, store, and clean; good for smoothies; OK for soup, 3-year warranty Cons: no cover for mixing beaker, only one speed
Im splitting my time between two houses and needed a blender for home #2. I didnt want to buy another full-size one unless it was much higher quality and I wasnt ready to splurge on that. So I started looking into hand blenders. This ...

Pros: Affordable, high quality unit that does the job right! Cons: Blade guard may damage some pots & pans, no variable speed
I purchased this lovely handheld blender from Cuisinart for one purpose: making homemade baby food. I had intended to purchase a food mill, but was not happy with the reviews I had read on the leading product on the market, so I turned toward ...

Pros: Easy to use, super easy clean-up Cons: Need to wiggle to take apart for clean-up

nice unit, according to the wife
by lovehifi ,Jan 01 '08
Pros: Good quality. Motor is powerful enough. Easy to use, clean. Price. Cons: none.
Bought the CUISINART HAND HELD BLENDER for my better half. I spent a lot of time originally looking for an IMMERSION BLENDER, which is what she calls it. Only recently, did I discover that this CUISINART unit is the same thing.
My better half watches a lot of cooking shows. She is very familiar around the kitchen. She is a self taught cook and works as a sous-chef as well.
She has told me she really enjoys using this unit. It has been used several times already.
She has told me it is powerful enough for her. Quality seems good.
It comes with the hand held blender and a plastic cup.
The price was good. I paid well under $50 for it, I believe. I think I found it at TARGET, if not mistaken.
Simple to use ON/OFF button.
Detachable shaft for easy cleaning.
Blending attachment with stainless steel blades snaps on easily.
The INSTRUCTION BOOK comes with some RECIPES as well.
A 3 YEAR WARRANTY makes me feel a little more comfortable with my purchase.
The wife endorses this product 100%. I have to take her word.

Nice unit but fragile
by papazja ,Feb 27 '09
Pros: Convenient, useful. Cons: Design is too fragile. Needs a more robust coupling between the motor and blade.
We enjoyed using this blender until a small chicken bone got stuck in the knife. This jammed the unit and before we could let go of the on button, the small plastic drive gear between the motor and the blender unit disintegrated. End of story. No spare parts available. Throw it out.
