Pros: Worked well for the first six to eight weeks. Camaraderie was very nice! Cons: Only concerned with how much money spent not how system worked for my particular body.
Curves started out to be an enjoyable experience with good results. Then I started to plateau out and asked for help. There didn't seem to be anything offered except I should be buying their food and other products. I stopped going as much from ...

Pros: Something to get you moving for less money than a regular gym Cons: Taking your money after contract over
Christian music
Limited Hours of Operation, closed by 7
I signed up for Curves with my mother, thinking it was something that we could do together, however, I commute and found that they were often closed prior to my ability to return home from work. I also got very bored with the routine, and Christian music ...

Pros: Great, quick way to get toned and protect muscle mass. Cons: Some locations may have limited hours.
I am 23 years old and consider myself an athlete. I compete in Ironman distance triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run, all one after the other). I was a bit skeptical when I first looked into curves. I went to check it out and had ...

Pros: quick, women-only, provides a structured workout program at low cost Cons: Profits support anti-abortion movement, repetitive nature of exercises can lead to injury
My wife swears by Curves.. the 30 minute workout was just what she needed to supplement Weight Watchers and keep herself in shape. It's quick and easy and fits into the busy adult schedule. The basic concept is that you go in, and run a 'circuit' of ...

Pros: Only takes thirty minutes Cons: People expect you to talk to them.
I joined Curves with the theory that I would exercise when I was paying money for the privilege of doing so. Curves has satisfied that need for me. Several of the reviews I have been reading mention the inexperience of the staff in the Curves. This is ...

Pros: The workout is fun, only takes 30 minutes, you aren't sore the next day. Cons: none...well, they are closed for 2 hours in the middle of the day.

Pros: Keeps me on tasks Cons: The hours of operation are questionable.
I have been a member of fitness clubs for years, but what happens to me is that I overwork myself... I lift more than I should work longer than I should and run my heart rate way too fast. The result of all this is burn-out. Do I stick with it? NO. What ...

Pros: Easy in/out, like the strict regimen, very nice staff, price is right, seeing results Cons: A little too much talking, could offer an advanced program.
I joined Curves two months ago after having my baby a year ago. I wanted to find a place where I didn't have to worry about having to have on the latest gear, having to wait for machines, having to worry about men staring at me for being too heavy. I saw ...

Pros: Fun and "mindless", as someone is telling you what to do next! Cons: Can't adjust the resistance to increase fitness past a certain point.
I am 48 (almost 49) years old and have been teaching various fitness classes for 15 or so years. I've taught Spinning, cardio kickboxing, step, pilates, Body Pump, etc. and was always considered to teach very high intensity, difficult classes. In the ...

Pros: Can't think of any - unless you don't like working out with men. Cons: Far too easy for anyone with any kind of previous gym or workout experience.
I joined Curves about a year ago having heard of the great success a family member achieved with this gym. Excuse me? Has anyone actually taken a good look around this place? No one in there - from management to members - is a "hard body" and they ...

Pros: None Cons: rude, deceitful people who take extra money and refuse to give it back
I joined curves in May of 2005 after winning a free month.I joined for a whole year. In December I noticed I was charged twice.I called and was told the first payment did not go through. That seemed possible so I let it go. Then in January, February and ...

Pros: Fun, fast workout, doesn't even feel like you are working out. Cons: Problems with my specific location: no secure place to put your things/lousy help, VERY expensive!
I went to Curves a while back ago and totally enjoyed it. The workout is easy to do (goes by quickly and it's fun). It's supposed to only take 30 minutes, but I would stay extra 15 minutes more and do my favorite machines one more time before going. In ...

Pros: Nice atmosphere, clean, nice people, air conditioned, good music, easy to do Cons: Up and down motions required to go to each machine may make you dizzy.
I was walking around my neighborhood when I noticed a new company had moved into to a recently vacant building. It was called Curves. It looked inconspicuous enough. I then heard from my brother that Curves was a weight-loss center. I, being ...

Pros: Based on my experience I can't think of any. Cons: Too many, especially breach of contract.
I had a horrible experience with curves for women and it is still in dispute. Be careful the Curves for women I attended did not honor its contract and it can happen to you. I have heard many stories similar to mine. I have also heard that many women ...
