Dean Koontz's Frankenstein Book Two: City of Night

by phungus phungus is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Books, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Feb 08 '06
Pros: Lots of character development, shows us what the monsters are thinking
Cons: Not much action, ends like the first one
Dean Koontz’s retelling of Frankenstein has so far turned out to be a pretty fun trilogy. It is set in pre-Katrina New Orleans. The story assumes that Dr. Frankenstein was actually a real scientist and has mastered a way of cloning his own body ...

Frankenstein: City of Night (2005)

by zenmachado , Dec 11 '05
Pros: A thrilling suspense story of good ol' Frankenstein
Cons: We have to wait till the summer of 2006 for the final book.
Frankenstein: City of Night, is the second book in a trilogy. It is basically the continuation of a reworking of the Mad Doctor Gone Wrong story but it has been twisted to fit in our day in age. Dean Koontz does a fine job in creating a world where we ...

FRANKENSTEIN'S SAGA CONTINUES

by CaitoEdie , Aug 03 '05
Pros: Page turning suspense and heart pounding drama! This book is a must read!
Cons: Final sequel not due out till summer of 2006.
After being left breathlessly hanging by Dean Koontz's Frankenstein Book One: The Prodigal Son, I literally counted the days till the release of Frankenstein Book Two: City Of Night. I purchased it the day it hit the racks and read it within hours! ...

Good story
by gooberpyle ,May 13 '06
Pros: Good plot
Cons: The ending doesn't work
About a year passed between my reading of book one to this publication.

I was pleased to see book two but after finishing it I was disappointed about the ending because I have no way of knowing when to expect the finish.

My preference in a series is for each book to add to the story, not for each book to be a "to be continued".

It isn't that I want a series to end, just to have a sense of completion to each "chapter".
