Pros: Good for working applications. Cons: Less than average display.
By no means am I a computer expert. Still, Ive gone through my share of PCs and laptops since I got my very first home computer way back in 1994, and Id like to think that I know a few things about them. Because of that, I end up doing a lot of ...
Memory upgrade[Update December 2007] Replaced the DELL 2 512M DIMMs with third party OCZ memory, upgrading to 2 2G DIMMs to a supposed 4G system maximum. I was able to do so with a few complaints. The major concern is that the D620 makes only ...
Pros: Processing power, Weight, design, 4 GB RAM support, scratch resistant Cons: no media card slot, does not play audio CDs when powered OFF
Dell Latitude D620 The most common question I encounter is which Dell laptop to buy Inspiron or Latitude. The Inspirons, with their low price, dedicated graphics option, loaded with multimedia features, targets the home, small business ...
Pros: Feels sturdy, excellent keyboard, design is great for business users. Cons: General consumers will want a media card reader. Some users may prefer a glossy display.
After three months of owning the D620, I am happy to report that it is still running perfectly. A BIOS update has reduced some of the excessive heat that I reported before. Additionally, a change in the USB BIOS settings virtually eliminates the noise ...
Pros: Improved CPU and input devices, EVDO capability, great support, widescreen LCD, great overall performance Cons: Lower-res screen, new wireless interface, slightly-lower battery performance, poor videocard options
I purchased my Dell Lattitude D620 almost six months ago, and shortly after that started deploying them at work. Overall, I had previously used a Dell Inspiron 600M (the home-equivalent of the Lattitude D600), and moved to the D620 after reading about ...
Pros: Very durable, efficient, great choice for frequent travelers and business users Cons: No svideo, Lack of graphics card options, substandard screen, not good for gamers
I received the Latitude D620 as part of my scholarship package. Initially I was about to sell it since it came without a good dedicated graphics card option but I decided to keep it and save up for a gaming desktop. Anyways, I have been happy with it ...
Pros: Fast processor; responsive Cons: Horrible, terrible, awful screen. Worst I have seen since the early 90s.
I'm just glad that my employer gave it to me. It would have gone straight back to Dell if it were my money. My 1999 Apple Powerbook has a better screen--even after 7.5 years of almost daily use. The D620's screen is abominable. About a 45-degree ...
Pros: Scalability, Great Tech Support Cons: Can't Add a more powerful video card
I absolutely love my Dell Latitude D620. I am a computer hardware technician at a local university, and I’ve seen it all. I deal with broken hardware all day, and I can say that the D620 is just about as good as it gets. This really is a little ...
Pros: Sturdy feeling, good size and weight. Cons: Several severe problems that needed to be serviced.
I've had this laptop for 10 months now. It seemed very sturdy at first and I really like the touch pad and the cursor button. Those are absolutely necessary for me. The screen size is very good for a laptop and it is perfect weight for carrying around ...
Pros: Ambient light sensor, lid hinge tightening screws easily accessible, Cons: Bad thermal design, no active shock protection for HDD, most connectors are on the back.

Pros: Nice design, light Cons: Small screen, video card not great
I bought this laptop when I went to college and had this laptop for about 1 1/2 years. I got a great deal from college that led to a full loaded laptop with 4 year complete warranty for only 1300 (original price 2000+). The specs for this laptop ...
Great Laptop if configured properly by infidex ,Jan 10 '07
Pros: Long battery life on upgraded battery option, solid built. Cons: None so far
I use this for work. I got this puppy fully loaded. It's a sound computer and it's fast. I would suggest that you go for the upgrade on the battery, only downfall is there will be a bar sticking out of the front of the laptop, looks like a hand rest for typing, this is where they cram the extra juice into it. I've gotten used to it. I can get 5 hours on the battery at max brightness, close to 7-8 hours on lower settings.
Pros: Everything Cons: Would not work with my older Hitachi 60GB 7200 hard drive.
After reading all the negative about the D620 screen, I finally saw where if you got a Quanta brand screen, all was better. Just got mine two days ago with this screen. Absolutely the coolest fastest laptop I have ever had in my hands. Get it today. You will not regret it.
Dell 620- A Great Overall Laptop by alyssamc413 ,May 11 '08
Pros: Multifunctional
Large Screen
Long Battery Life Cons: None
The Dell 620 laptop is a great purchase for anyone looking for a functional, fast working personal computer. I have had this laptop for around 9 months and I the only problem I have had was a key on the keyboard popping off. Other than that it has met my wants and needs. It has a 14 inch screen, Windows XP Pro capability and a 1 GB 533MHz DDR2 RAM (2 x 512MB config) It also has a DVD and CD player. I bought this laptop for recreational use, but my parents both have this same laptop that they use for work. It is multifunctional and anything that you could want in a laptop. I highly recommend it.
