Delsey Helium 350 - DO NOT BUY!
by canuckle_head ,Jun 28 '06
Pros: looks nice. nice wheels and leather covered handle. Cons: Very poor build quality and fell apart during it's first trip.
Okay, I just read the other review of this product and I have to say I wish I had seen it before I bought mine. I have the mid-size version, the 25" in black and except for the fact that my trip was to Japan, my story is essentially identical in terms of the suitcase not lasting the trip and the vinyl/plastic hinge ripping off. I am so dissatisfied. I had an older Delsey hardcase previously and had some problems with it too. Handles kept falling off, the bag became misaligned and had partially cracked open along the seams after every flight, etc. etc. Decided to try this one as it had a zipper instead. Considering the weak hinge of this new design, I expected Delsey to repair it on warranty. They wouldn't and blamed the damage on handling at the airport. I will NEVER buy another Delsey bag again.
