No other mattress can compare!

by babyMONKEY , Nov 11 '00
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It is expensive but it has a long term warranty.
My boyfriend first told me about the Swedish Duxiana mattress about a year ago. I decided to check it out for myself so I went to the Duxiana store in Manhattan. Once I laid down on it, I could not get up. I wanted to stay there forever. It sounds...

by jfk86d , Jul 07 '03

WORST INVESTMENT EVER MADE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY

by wheatpea , Oct 08 '05
Pros: There are none! Stay away from this rip-off.
Cons: The Top-Pad is a sleeping bag in ditch and stretches out of shape.
PLEASE BEWARE BACK PAIN SUFFERS! DO NOT buy a Dux bed if you are suffering from low back pain. They are killers. My husband & I bought the best (we thought) & most expensive Dux bed you could buy in the fall of 2002. My back continued to get worse ...

Dux got lawyers on me to remove my reviews

by goodcyrus , Feb 02 '06
Pros: Helps with weight loss, of your wallet that is.
Cons: Bogus warranty, false claims, high price, scheister high staff
I wrote long reviews on Tempurpedic & select comfort (all bad items) on various newsgroups before I purchased a Dux bed, and wrote follow-ups every year after. The mattress top was useless after a year and a half and the bed itself got uneven after ...

The Best Night's Sleep

by cd_ratcliff , Nov 16 '00
Pros: The most comfortable night's sleep ever.
Cons: A little pricey
I bought the Dux bed because of the comfort level that I experienced in the store, but I had no idea. Before the Duxianna bed my sleep was irregular and I never seemed to get enough sleep. After buying the mattress, I realized what a good night's sleep...

Save you money

by testedandtried , May 07 '01
Pros: Workmanship and warranty
Cons: Expensive and little comfort difference from any other mattress made.
Frankly, this has to be one of the most over priced items that I regret buying in a long time.

First, I don't have back or neck problems and I am not prone to insomnia. You see I am the type of consumer that likes to have the best with the...

Duxiana beds in our experience: is expensive, not durable and the service not as expected.

by upfrontmatern , Nov 01 '07
Pros: Dux appears to be be a caring company with a good marketing and branding ethos.
Cons: Must have proof of purchase,Complaints not investigated even with proof of logo/model number.
We purchased a new King Size Dux at or around the year 1994. Recently (2007), my husband and I have been complaining more frequently about back pains: stiffness and soreness, especially in his lower back and shoulders upon waking.Indeed we are aging, ...

Bed doesn't stay comfortable

by opsar , Sep 13 '08
Pros: very comfortable early on, local store has been helpful getting problems fixed and parts replaced
Cons: pascal modules shift/get uncomfortable, a lot of replacing parts and continued expense, expensive!
My hub and I bought a 7007 (top of the line then, altho now I think they do a fancier one) for about $7K years ago - in about 1999. In the early days, the mattress felt glorious. The problem was that it quickly deteriorated (after a year or so) ...

The Sad Truth about Duxiana

by silbad , Feb 28 '08
Pros: Can't think of any
Cons: Low quality at high prices, terrible customer service, deceitful business practices
We shopped around a bit and my wife really liked the Dux mattress in the San Francsisco store, so we decided to buy it, despite the very high price. After waiting for two weeks, we finally got the mattress. The first night it seemed really soft, but we ...

Don't waste your money on a Dux - try Royal Pedic, Hastens or Southard (NY)

by mbaumga , Mar 02 '08
Pros: the bed looks nice
Cons: overpriced and not that well made -- look at Hastens instead.
I have been looking for a new bed for several months and done a lot of research (and I mean a lot!). What I have found, after trying many mattresses (some multiple times, including the Dux and Hastens)is that the Dux is overpriced and not that well made. ...

Ideal sleepig environment

by vapexiana , Nov 22 '08
Pros: flexible comfort
support without the wieght
Cons: very heavy
not a tall mattress
expensive
Consider how much time we spend sleeping? Is it any wonder then that the term luxury and long term can coexist? My husband and I bought our first Dux (Pascal system) in 2000 in NYC. We subsequently moved to NC and this was the first piece of furniture ...

I'm still in heaven after 14 years!
by posette ,Oct 27 '06
Pros: Better sleep - a month of extra REM-sleep per year!
Cons: High cost, but worth it
I got my DUX in 1992 (was unemployed and concerned about spending so much money). My back, neck, shoulder and hips were in continual pain. Obvious that I was either falling apart @ age 48 or needed a new mattress. Bot a DUX mattress, after tremendous research.

Best thing I ever did - still love the mattress, still sleeping better than ever, and most of my friends now own them.

Felt too soft when first tried in the store. Went in 7 times, b/c I couldn't imagine spending that much. Even took a very heavy friend to lie beside me just in case I ever ended up with a husband or b-friend. Surprise - we didn't roll towards ea other. One evening, still thinking it over, trying out the bed in the store, I fell asleep for half an hour! Tapped my savings, bought the mattress, aches and pains gone, sleep well, BEST money I ever spent!! Get one if you can.

Dux Bed
by abarber13 ,Dec 22 '03
Pros: Lower part of bed well constructed.
Cons: Pascal springs wear out as well as top pad.
We purchased the Dux top of line bed about 4 years ago.
Had the Pascal top springs replaced after about 2 years
at no cost to us.
Now the pillow top has mashed down and they want $1200.00 to replace it.
We are average sized people so that means they would expect us to replace this part of the bed for $1200.00 every 4 years.
We contacted the distributor who wrote us a nasty letter stating that all top pads will wear out just like tires on a car. They really don't care about customer service or referrals.
You will note that there is no phone number for their main office in Sweden. I have been searching the net but only come up with branch offices.
I guess that tells you something.
Up until now we were pleased with the bed but now believe we made a mistake.

Everyone is Different
by cassandrem ,Mar 05 '09
Pros: Firm, well made, comfortable, good customer support
Cons: Never want to get out of it
We actually have two of these beds, a queen is our guest room and a california king in the Master bedroom.  Both are fabulous!!  I don't think people should trash the Dux bed, just because it didn't work for them.  Not every body can be put in the same kind of bed.  I find the Dux bed to be well made and comfortable for my personal needs.  I wouldn't sleep on anythings else.  I am not going to knock a Tempurpedic, or Select Comfort, if they work for people, great.  I LOVE MY DUX BED!!!  WORTH EVERY PENNY TO ME.  I have guests visit just for the bed....

After seven years...this mattress sucks big time
by menopausalmama ,Nov 07 '06
Pros: zipper is good
Cons: coils compress quickly; lumpy; not worth a tenth of the price
My husband and I are both average (I am 135 lbs at 5'2" and he is 175lbs at 6 ft) and this mattress fails in every respect. It is lumpy; it coils compressed almost immediately; it needs constant unzipping and moving of the three separate coil systems; and we wake up unrefreshed with backaches. I bought an extra-long twin for my son (then 13 yrs old) and he has the same issues. Read the articles by the former mattress salesmen on wikipedia then buy something else.
