15 Years and Still Going Strong
by susannah111 ,Nov 23 '04
Pros: Long-lasting comfort Cons: Women may find this bed more comfortable than men
I bought this bed after a back attack 15 years ago, and have not had any problems at all since then. I find my queen-size model incredibly comfortable (they don't make this particular model anymore). I prefer it to any bed at the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton hotels. I think it's especially soothing to women, as it curves in where your body does and gives where you need it so that you back stays straight. My husband, on the other hand, does not like the bed at all and considers it too soft for him. Although the bed was expensive, I expect to use it for the rest of my life.

DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY
by fara427 ,Sep 26 '04
Pros: IT'S LOW TO THE GROUND AND IT HAS NICE LEGS Cons: IT'S TOO SOFT. IT HAS NO SUPPORT. IT DOESN'T FIT SHEETS PROPERLY. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.
I BOUGHT MY DUX BED SEVERAL YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF BACK AND NECK PROBLEMS, I SPENT CLOSE TO $5000.00 FOR THIS BED. IT WAS THE WORST INVESTMENT I EVER MADE. MY NECK AND BACK ARE WORSE THEN EVER. I CAN'T GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. AND WHAT DO YOU DO WITH A BED THIS EXPENSIVE THAT YOU HATE. IT'S BEING MOVED TO THE BASEMENT AS I WAIT FOR MY DELIVERY OF A KINGSDOWN BED. I HOPE THAT IT WILL BE THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS.

Mine has started to smell strongly of latex
by mskih ,Aug 09 '04
Pros: Comfortable Cons: Top pad wears out quickly, and smell strongly of latex. Very expensive.
I think my bed is fairly comfortable, and have been satisfied with it until the top pad started to smell strongly of latex. I guess it's time to replace it after 5 years, but instead I just ordered a McRoskey Mattress. It will arrive in a few weeks, but I bought the cloud and it's meant to last 20-30 years. And it's the mattress that the Queen of England uses...
I think Duxiana's are okay beds, but I worry about the latex.

BUY A VI-SPRING INSTEAD
by smann79 ,Jan 10 '05
Pros: THE NAME (NOT SURE IF IT MEANS ANYTHING ANYMORE) Cons: PRICE, DURABILITY, COMFORT LEVEL
I HAVE OWNED A DUX FROM 15 YEARS AGO. I BOUGHT A NEW PASCAL 7000 SERIES. IT STARTED SAGGING IN MONTHS. THE NEW DUX IS NOT LIKE THE OLD DUX, CHEAPLY MADE, DOMESTIC MATERIALS AND A CHEAP COIL STRUCTURE. SORRY THE NAME MEANS NOTHING TO ME ANYMORE. IF PRICE IS NO OBJECT INVEST IN THE VI-SPRING. A TRUE HORSE HAIR MATTTRESS MADE IN ENGLAND. SURE IT STARTS AT $10k AND UP, BUT IT FEELS AMAZING. 13 MONTHS AND IT LOOKS LIKE NEW AND FEELS LIKE NOTHING ELSE. I FIRST TRIED IT AT A HOTEL IN PARIS AND FELL IN LOVE AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT.

Regret buying this bed
by marcosmom ,Mar 14 '07
Pros: Sleek design. Integrated headboard. Cons: Over-hyped, not comfortable, waste of money
We bought our Dux bed 6 years ago. I started regretting it about 3 years ago when the cotton pad started compressing. I then purchased a separate memory foam top pad and put that on top.
Then Dux came out with their own latex top pad and suggested that I buy that to replace the old cotton pad. I did - $1900 - and it's been about 2 months and the latext pad is totally lame. It is only about 2 inches thick. It feels like one of those inflatable pads for your sleeping bag.
Also, by the way, in the past 6 years, it's cost me more than $2000 for Dux sheets because since their top pad is thinner than all other beds, you have to buy their own custom fitted sheets. And then of course, unless you want to go with mismatched sheets, you buy their entire flat sheets and pillows, etc.
It's total hype in my opinion - for the past couple of months, I've had such terrible sleep on the Dux that I've resorted to sleeping on the 10 year old Serta mattress in our guest bedroom.

Unhappy in Dux land
by andytw ,Apr 26 '07
Pros: Six Adjustable Pascal Springs. Dealer lent softer Pascal pads when my wife was pregnant Cons: Expensive, Top Pad needs to be replaces, Springs too soft over time. Useless Warranty
I bought a 7007 in 1999. Duxiana does a great job at selling Mattresses. You can go to the store and try them out for as long as you like. They sell great high end sheets and comforters. Everything in there store is meant to provide a luxury experience
The bed was great for about 2 years then it has been too soft ever since. The bed also has a cotton top pad that needs to be replaced every couple years according to the manufacturer at a cost of $800.
In 1994 I had the local Dux dealer come to the house to evaluate the bed and the young woman pressed down on the springs a few times told me that nothing is wrong. I have been suffering with a bad hip on this bed ever since. I hate the thought of replacing a $6K bed.
I look forward to hotel stays when I can use a Westin Heavenly Bed and have no pain at all. In my opinion that is sad to say after spending $6K on what should be a dream mattress.

Shockingly Expensive, but worth every penny.
by lubysan ,Dec 10 '04
Pros: All of the aches and pains you normally wake up with will miraculously disappear.
Cons: SHOCKINGLY expensive. Accessories are even more shockingly expensive.
I've owned this bed for 16 years!! There is no better sleep system & there is no more comfortable bed. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to sell you something or rationalize their own (more frugal) choices.
A few years back, some of the wooden support slats underneath the bed cracked. (Kids jumped on the bed once too often). I informed the company and they sent workmen over the next day to replace them! Gratis! You get what you pay for.

Great bed for my back problems
by cdoncrawford ,Jul 18 '05
Pros: Great service, great sleeping comfort Cons: Expensive, but well worth a good nights sleep
I bought a Dux bed, king size, after spending a year researching various other quality beds. The Dux bed has improved my sleeping, I do not toss and turn as much, I wake up better rested, all because the bed all but eliminates my back pain. Additionally the installation was without problems. Later I got a new bed frame, the the Duxiana bed store, Brea, CA, gave me new bed, taller ones, at their costs. I have been more than please with my Dux bed and highly recommend it to others.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
by aspiresw ,Jun 20 '05
Pros: Comfort, durability Cons: People want to sleep over all the time.
This is the last bed I will every buy. After years of horrible sleep a friend told me about the Duxiana bed he and his girlfriend bought. Since my bed was beginning to cause me problems just after a few years of use I decided to give it a shot. I was so impressed I even bought one for my guest room. Every time someone sleeps over they tell me how good of a nights sleep they had. Although it is pricey I would recommend this bed to anyone looking for a good nights sleep.

Not Worth The Money
by noid99 ,Oct 17 '05
Pros: Attractive, strong mattress edges. Cons: Breaks down and excessively expensive.
Like other reviewers, we purchased the Duxiana bed a few years ago thinking it was the best we could buy for our aching backs. It was for a few years, but not we ache just like we used to. At the Dux store they said we should replace the topper for $1200. I don't think so. It is a rip-off.

Duxiana Won't Honor Warranty
by ellie2009 ,Jul 22 '09
Pros: The bed was great for the first few years. Cons: The mattress now sags in the middle causing backaches.
Bought my bed for approx. $4000 and a sales pitch promising complete service "no matter what." The warranty covers 20 years and when we recently lodged a complaint, the company refused to offer any form of solution - no repair, no credit toward a new bed - NOTHING. It's as if the warranty doesn't even exist. The springs wear out, just as they do on any good mattress. Knowing this, we could have saved around $2500 by just buying a regular, good quality mattress. I am truly upset by the disregard for the problem. The local manager did come by and said she filed a complaint or report, but then told us the factory has refused to offer any solution. I filed a BBB complaint, but really want people to know that if they are considering buying a Dux Bed, they are not worth the price difference. Buy a good mattress but don't buy into this hype about Swedish manufacture and special steel for the springs. They wear out like any other mattress and the sagging is now so bad we are unable to sleep on it due to back aches.

Most comfortable bed I've ever slept on
by slmkim ,Jun 17 '05
Pros: Roomy, comfortable, eases back pain Cons: Top pad tends to slip down and must be adjusted when making the bed.
My king size Dux bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I am forty and my husband is forty seven and both have experienced the aches and pains of growing older. After several car accidents where I was hit from behind, my back was in sad shape. The Dux bed was the best investment I have made for my back. I loved it so much that when my then twelve year old daughter needed to have corrective surgery for severe scoliosis(two metal rods inserted around her spine), we promptly purchased a queen size bed for her. She also loves her bed. The dux beds are roomy, and very comfortable....I think they are well worth the investment.

Save your Money!
by doryellen ,Feb 03 '05
Pros: nice wooden legs Cons: Uncomfortable. Disgraceful customer service. Foam top dies.
Our Dux bed was the worst purchase I have ever made. It is so uncomfortable!! Like some other reviewers, it felt great for a few months, and then just "died". We feel like we are sleeping on a very expensive futon. And the company is completely unresponsive. Once they get your money, thats it. WE thought we were the only people in the world who hated their Dux (we call it the "Sux" bed) until I got here. We are finally going to stop punishing our bodies and get rid of it. Probably on Ebay or to the Salvation Army!

Duxiana King Bed Mattress
by luxgoodliving ,Mar 11 '08
Pros: My husband finds the bed comfortable but he's okay sleeping anywhere. Cons: EXPENSIVE and poor quality.
We have been extremely disappointed in this bed. We paid over $6000 and in one year the sides to the bed had broken down. We purchased two twin mattresses and put them side to side along with a separate latex mattress top so it would be easier to flip mattresses. Even doing this, the bed is extremely uneven. We have extra support base for the middle of the bed. It was a huge investment that was a complete waste of money.
