Pros: Low price, high quality images, flexible software features. Cons: Ink is costly and runs out more than you'd like.
Epson has a reputation for building ink jet printers with good colorimetry and fine resolution. The CX4200 is an inexpensive all in one unit that lives up to Epson’s reputation. Dura-Brite inks are supposed to be as fade resistant as photographic film or ...
Pros: Fast and high quality printing, inexpensive, good value Cons: May be a bit large for some desk areas
I had been using my old Epson 777 for the past 6 years, until it finally died and couldn't be fixed. I don't do a ton of printing, but I wanted to be able to print some digital pictures, scan some documents, and fit it all onto my TINY desk. So I found ...
Pros: Sharp images when you get them. Cons: Wasted paper, ink, and foreign language menus.
Office Max had one in stock on display, but they said they would have to order it for me. It took them over a month to ship it to me. Finally, when I installed the software, the printer driver was in French. So I have to learn French to understand when I ...
Pros: Fine for regular text printing Cons: Very slow, had to be replaced by Epson less than a year after purchase.
I have had this printer for just under a year and wasn't ever 100% happy with it. The print quality was not that great and it ran so slow. I got in the habit of just hitting print and walking away to do other things instead of waiting for it to finish. ...
Pros: It's an all-in-one. Cons: On a deadline? Out of cyan ink? You're out of luck.
Let me start out by saying that there was a class-action law suit against this printer. If you run out of ink, it shuts down and will not do anything more than scan. It advertises that it uses separate CMYK ink cartridges so that you only need to replace the ones that you run out of -- sounds great, except that the machine shuts down if one of them is out. Not good.
That said, it scans, copies, and prints very well. The photo-quality printing is great. The copying is a tad slow, but it beats having a separate copier in your home. The printer is a printer, and that's fine for me.
I am very upset with this purchase of mine. The printer worked exactly for 2 days, and I printed about 3 pages, out of which 2 had some kind of graphics on it and the other were word documents. On the 3rd day it started printing everything messed up which looked liked there is a need for a nozzle check. But no printer should have nozzle issues after being used 3x.
I bought this product because I wanted something that included a scanner, and is not too high-end. I wanted decent print quality because I am a visual artist, but not too sophisticated so it would be hard to handle.
I can't say I love anything about the product, and I hate the fact that I have to go back to the store, return it and try to figure out which other one to take a chance on.
