From Cult to Mainstream - The "Modernization" of a Classic.

by mickp Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 21 '08
Pros: Lovely graphics, excellent sound. A nice voice acting cast. Decent enough game.
Cons: Making a completely different game and attaching themes and objects doesn't make a Fallout sequel.
Anticipation turns to trepidation:Fallout 3 would have to be one of the top ten games I have "most anticipated" in my lifetime. For better than a decade the previous entries in the series kept me coming back. Technically superior games ...

Fallout 3 is one of the best PC RPG's ever made

by phungus, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Feb 21 '09
Pros: Almost everything about it is perfect
Cons: The ending was a letdown
I've spent the past two months playing Fallout 3 almost every night for at least a half hour, and I finally completed the game. I never stopped anywhere in between to write this review because I actually wanted to finish the game in order to give ...

2008 Game of the Year and Superior to Previous Fallout Games

by johnenfield , Feb 25 '09
Pros: Story, choices, graphics (need a good gaming rig to see it at its best)
Cons: Another wrench? What I need is a flashlight! When it's dark, it's really dark.
Yes, I said it. Fallout 3 should be 2008's Game of the Year and Fallout 3 is a better game by far than the previous Fallout Games.  Even the much venerated Fallout 1.  I have played, or at least tried to play, every Fallout game that has ...

A classic franchise receives a resurrection and a facelift.

by bloolight , Nov 16 '08
Pros: Strong backstory, dark humor, well designed morality system.
Cons: Can drag during combat, too many fatal crashes.
There are a lot of reasons why the Fallout franchise commands such a devoted following among gamers.  The original title was a gripping RPG built upon the venerable Baldur's Gate engine.  It combined a tightly written backstory with a ...

Over-hyped, painfully mediocre

by subcriminal , Sep 17 '09
Pros: Character customization, good audio/graphics/ambiance
Cons: Very poorly executed content in some areas, linear story
OverhypedThis was probably the most overrated game I’ve come across. There will be many who will disagree with me, call me a heathen, ask where the heck I found my taste in games, blah, blah, blah… But I’m a ...

A decent evolution of Oblivion, but not quite Fallout caliber

by hanharvey , Jan 20 '09
Pros: Good Shooter Engine, Inventive Crafting System, Excellent Graphics, Immersive Environment
Cons: Failed to connect to the older games, lack of difficulty, multiple bugs
OverviewFallout 3 is, if you count the un-numbered relations, the fifth game in the fallout series.  Like the last two games, Fallout 3 was not designed in the same genre as the founding pair of games; Fallout 1 & 2.  Fallout 3 ...

Welcome to the World of Tomorrow

by zero_ Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 29 '08
Pros: Engaging gameplay is more strategic than it looks. Fantastic sense of style and exploration.
Cons: Lots of time consuming walking around, occasionally confusing navigation.
You're not a true nerd if you haven't been waiting the last decade for Fallout 3 to come along. Like so many other cult classics, the first two Fallout games didn't sell very well at their time(s) of release, and dated as their graphics and interfaces ...

Bethesda has TRULY revived a classic

by koihoshi , Oct 30 '08
Pros: Great gameplay, very engrossing, wonderful visuals and sound.
Cons: Some rumors of game freezing, very demanding, long install time..
After hearing that Fallout 3 was in the works I was very excited.  Fallout and Fallout 2 brought an interesting bit of fun to a storyline where mankind has managed to blast himself into the planet from a nuclear fallout.  Hence the ...
