Pros: Portable, expandable, fun stamps and special effects Cons: Resolution is too low, only saves one picture, price is too high
I'm always on the look out for portable travel games that can support my oldest son's creative energies and keep him entertained at the same time. I'm getting tired of the pens and crayons spilling on to the floor and rolling all over the van. We also...
Pros: My child adores it. No clean-up. Easy to tote. Cons: No manual volume control.
Much like a portable palm is appreciated by most adults, the Fisher Price® Pixter is enjoyed by kids 4 years and beyond. This creative art system provides an inclusive package of electronic fun that alleviates the need for toting paper,...
Pros: Portable, versatile, tough, QUIET!!! Cons: Exposed data ports, no carrying case, pricy.
Before you read this review, if you want to get to the meat of the product overview, skip the “Cute Little Story Portion” and head on down to the section entitled “The Actual Review”. Or, for a bottom line opinion, jump right down to “To Sum It...
Pros: Easy to use, fun, high contrast, expandable with cartridges. Cons: Low resolution, a little sluggish response.
An electronic Magna Doodle with Brains is the best way to describe the Pixter. It's a handheld unit that makes it easy to create a variety of art projects and play games. It has an adjustable volume for sound effects and music and the display is high...
Pros: Hmmm ... I'll have to think about this. Cons: Way overpriced and not very entertaining.
We were taking a car trip early this summer and bought our 6 yr. old a Pixter to help entertain her during the long hours in the car. We had heard so many good things about it that we were sure she would be happily Pixter-ing in the backseat for much of...
Pros: Portable Cons: No carry case, cartridges hard to snap in, cannot erase very well.
Well my 4 year old daughter saw this on TV and had to have it. I was not so sure of its claim to fame and I was right. After getting it for Christmas and using all of the clever different features it is NOT worth the money. It also can be frustrating...
Pros: It kept my Grandaughter enthralled for hours. Cons: 2 pixters out of 2 purchased were defective.
On Christmas morning we placed the batteries in my Grandaughter's new Pixter and for about an hour tried to follow the directions about how to turn it on and match up the little squares on the screen. Nothing in the instructions said that when you turn...
Pros: Portable, Expandable, Quiet for the car, Lots of software Cons: A little pricey
My son always wants to play with my Palm Pilot and it's way to expensive for a 4 year old to mess with. With the Pixter, he feels like he has one of his own. It's a lot more colorful. I've read other opinions that complained that there is no carrying...
Pros: Cute Graphics, Portable Toy Cons: Poor Resolution, Hard to Find Expandable Game Cartridges, Pricey
My two daughters, ages 6 & 4 began begging for Santa to bring them a Pixter for Christmas. After much begging, we made sure that Santa had one waiting for each of them under our Christmas tree. (Note: One of the Pixters Santa left would not function...
Pros: Compact Cons: Graphics very poor, slow response, no cartridge port cover.
My wife picked this up thinking it will be very educational travel toy. We opened it up before the kids got a hold of it and found that it to be very slow and annoying, the graphics on this resemble a used $5.00 etch a sketch. The games you play are...
Pros: Good match of activities for age K-1 age group. Cons: Demo unit in store crashed frequently. High price for feature set.
I really like the product although not at the $40+ price. The demo unit in the store crashed frequently, I have no idea if this was because it was rigged up to a display. When my first grader and I saw a commercial for the product and I asked if he...
Pixter I Want My Money Or Item Replaced by kimzstuffz ,Jun 25 '07
Pros: Cute system, entertaining Cons: Screen malfunctions easily, and price is high for product.
My daughter has had two now and same problem has happened with both. Screen display stops working only after having it maybe a few months each time, and taking good care of it and not excessive use. I am in process of finding a number to reach the company and file a complaint. Twice now my daughter has been completely disappointed with this product. Both times same thing. I have looked online and found others that have had the same problem so it seems to be a malfunction in the product.
Other than the price being high for an item thats life does not last long at all, it is a nice toy. However for price and a disappointed child twice now it is really not worth it.
Pros: Portable, easy to take along with you anywhere Cons: Does not come with a carry case, prices too high
I bought this for my son for Christmas 2003. He saw it advertised on television and had to have it. I thought it was kind of expensive since the machine itself was $39.99 and each cartridge ranged from $9.99 - $14.99. Oh course my son had a few cartridges on his wish list so it became expensive.
When my son first opened it he enjoyed it but then the glow wore off very quickly. We did not need to read the instructions because everything was figure out as you go. I didnt like the fact that it doesnt come with a charger or adapter because batteries wear out so quickly.
My son LOVES to draw and it's a good idea to take along with you on car rides. It's not messy but it can get noisy.
Pros: Very durable, low cost software. Cons: Not enough software comes with it
It is almost like a kiddie PDA. Keep them occupied for hours at a time. When I had bought this product for my son he played with it for hours. Although after about a couple of months he had gotten tired of the software that had come with it. The software was kindda hard to find at first but it came with a good selection of software for it to keep my kid occupied for another few months.
This could be cheaper but didn't pay a bad price for it. The software for it is cheap but well worth it and should be purchased when buying the pixter. The pixter is durable to take almost any beating that any kid can but on it.
Over all it was well worth the money invested into it.
