Pros: NONE Cons: 1. Can't understand the prompts
2. Malfunctions
3. Playback to caller is EXTREMELY LOW
I 100% agree with the other review on this answering machine. Our other machine (GE 29869GE2) died and unfortuntely we had to replace it. THIS is an upgraded version of that and what I HORRIBLE upgrade this was. 1. There is one particular part that is ...

by blamblamblam ,Mar 27 '08
Pros: Easy to use Cons: Extremely poor sound quality.
I was unable to understand 1 of the voice prompts. Sound quality is terrible. I paid $25 dollars for it at Canadian Tire.

Terrible sound quality
by joebinne ,Jun 26 '07
Pros: All the features you expect from an answering machine Cons: Awful sound quality makes it worthless
This machine seemed ok at first, but sound quality rapidly deteriorated. It is now to a point where you can barely hear the messages. Parts of messages cannot be heard at all because of noise taking over. It is now useless.

Horrible sound quality.
by elvenic ,Oct 01 '06
Pros: I don't see any. Cons: Sound quality is so bad, you hardly can understand what is recorded.
At the first glance, everything is OK with this machine.
The first setback was the sound quality of the voice prompts when you setup time, number of rings, etc. The machine has woman's voice, but it's almost impossible to understand what it says. One voice prompt was completely mangled, I had to read the manual to figure out what it wants me to enter.
Well, OK, I thought, may be it's just a quality of recording of the voice prompts. May be the sound quality of the messages it records will be OK.
Nope.
When we tried to record and play back a message - what a horror. Playback sound quality is so low, you almost can't understand your own words you recorded just a minute ago.
It's amazing how in the year 2006 a reputable company (the box with the machine has a name of manufacturer Atlinks Communications Canada, but the box and the machine bear a logo of GE) managed to produce an answering machine with so pure sound quality.
This machine goes back to Zellers.
