Pros: Bite-size; mush up easily in baby's mouth; small and portable; rather tasty; baby LOVES them. Cons: Flimsy lid easy for older babies to remove.
I've already confessed that I wasn't blessed with one of those "easy babies" that all my friends seem to have - the ones that lie down quietly in their cribs and drift off serenely to sleep, potty-train at one year and smile while cutting teeth, and are ...
Pros: Melts in child's mouth, good ingredients Cons: Can't think of any
When it comes clear to us parents that our babys are now able to begin feeding their selves and that we have arrived at an exiting stage of our babys life. Naturally we want to provide them with many different finger options but we are still ...
During my quest to find friendly finger foods for my at-the-time barely one-year-old daughter, I discovered Gerber’s Fruit Puffs. I’m so happy I did. THE BASICS Packaged in tall, slender 1.48 ounce canisters, Fruit Puffs are star-shaped, ...
Pros: dissolve quickly. Easier to digest then cheerios for babys first solid self feed food. Cons: expensive. $2 per container adds up quick
Located near the Gerber Graduates line of food for toddlers in the baby food section, Gerber Finger Foods Fruit Puffs are an awesome starter finger food. My daughter, now just about 9 months has been eating them for just about 3 months. She ...
There comes a time in every parent's life when their baby suddenly makes this jump from formula feedings to jarred/mashed food to ... gasp ... solid foods. It can be a trying time for parents, and as a first time parent I was always nervous what was ...
Pros: small, dissolve quickly, inexpensive, container lasts a long time, taste good Cons: none
After going crazy for the first bites of solid food, my son quickly lost interest in the pureed baby foods. I soon realized he wanted to feed himself so I went to look for a good finger food. After our disasterous first attempt with finger food when I ...
Pros: Dissolve, mild taste, compact, convenient, baby loves them! Cons: Some ingredients, not really much competition
My daughter started solid foods without a problem. I started making my own baby foods almost from the start. However, when her first two teeth came in around 7 months, I started thinking about "more solid" foods. In other words, those that required ...
Pros: baby likes them, dissolve quickly, encourage self-feeding, many flavors Cons: expensive, container is not child-proof
At 6 months, we started Kid on “solid” foods. At 9 months, we were still stuck with all pureed foods as a result of Kid’s refusal to have anything with texture put into his mouth. His overactive gag reflex was honestly one of the most awful things for me ...
Pros: Loved By My Son, Not Mess Proof But Very Close, Easy To Eat Cons: A Little Pricey But Not Too Bad
We tried Gerber Graduates Fruit Puffs pretty early on and ever since my son has absolutely loved these little finger food snacks. Gerber Fruit Puffs come in a pretty convenient package, being a round plastic container with a replaceable lid. ...
Pros: Useful when learning to swallow solid foods.
convenient reusable container Cons: Made of refined grains and contains sugar
More costly and less nourishing than Cheerios
I know I'm in the minority, but I am unimpressed with fruit puffs. Here's what I like: They're very useful in that first nerve-wracking month when your baby shows signs that he wants to eat with his fingers and you're deathly afraid of him choking ...
Pros: easy for baby to feed himself, good for snacking Cons: doesn't melt in baby's mouth
I made the mistake of letting my 8 month old son try to spoon feed himself a few weeks ago - just for fun. Not only did we create a huge mess, but now we have a baby that wants to feed himself all the time. Obviously he is not ready for spoon ...
Pros: Fruity smell; easily picked up and eaten by 9 month old; fun star shape Cons: none
After having 4 kids in 6 years, I am continually amazed at the new products arriving in the stores. Gerber Finger Foods Fruit Puffs is one of them. My Mom gave us a container for Claire's Halloween treat. We are now working on our 3rd container and ...
Pros: Healthy, melts in mouth, available everywhere, no refrigeration Cons: Limited fruit in puffs
These fruit puffs are a great snack! Gerber fruit puffs are made with healthy, quality ingredients, added iron and zinc, and real fruits. How much fruit -- well, I'm not sure of that. These puffs are in a star shape and look much like cereal. The ...
Good first finger food, but not a long term favorite by patricial123 ,Jan 24 '07
Pros: great and very safe as a first finger food Cons: as baby gets older, toasted oats are a better choice
The best thing about this product is the fact that they melt in baby's mouth almost immediately. Concerned that my baby could not chew food well enough; I was afraid even to feed him cheerios. These soft bits dissolved in my baby's mouth right away, so that even if he did not chew, and swallowed one whole, it would instantly melt. It is a great first finger food to try if you feel your baby may not be ready for the harder texture of toasted oat cereal.
Nevertheless, after a few tries of this food, my baby quickly lost interest. Despite the various flavors, my baby could not be tempted and when he was ready he enjoyed toasted oat cereal much more than these. By the time he was six months, I no longer purchased these.

Pros: Tasty, melt in the mouth, convenient Cons: Can be a little expensive
As a foster mom, I never know how much exposure my babies have had to food when they come to me. My foster baby had a really hard time with anything "solid". These were recommended by another foster mom, so I gave them a try. What a lifesaver! The puffs are a great way to expose babies to finger foods without the worry of them choking. The puffs are sweet, but not too sweet. They also melt in their mouths so there is no choking hazzard. They are about the size of Cheerios. I have bought all of the flavors, but banana and strawberry/banana are the favorite by far. The container is plastic and has an airtight lid that keeps them fresh for a long time. They are easily slipped in a diaperbag. I never have been one to buy snacks for babies, but I will admit I am never without these.
