Honda Element on second set
by raven0276 ,Jul 06 '06
Pros: Excellent handling, excellent traction. Especially with all wheel drive vehicle.
Cons: Tires wear a bit more quickly that the guaranteed rate. Still worth it though.
Excellent handling in all weather conditions. I drive my 2003 Honda Element quite a bit, (almost 90k to date) and have just replaced my first set of Assurance Triple Treads with a new set. I'd recommend Honda make them the stock tire. Handling is great, ride is comfortable, traction is best I've experienced to date for any tire. Of course, this is all on an Element, so I do not explore the outer reaches of performance in any area.

Needed new tires
by camrose ,Apr 18 '07
Pros: These tires give a softer ride than the Michlins on my Chrysler 300 M 2001
Cons: The jury is still out since I have only had them for 2 days.
I just purchased thr Goodyear Assurance tires to replace my 40,000 dry rotted Michelins. So far the ride is smoother and quieter.
The price was a little more than I wanted to pay but hopefully,I won't need to replace them until I hit 80,000.

Triple Treads Ride Smooth and Quiet
by gelandrum ,May 14 '07
Pros: Handling, traction, quiet and smooth ride.
Cons: None
I replaced Firestone Affinity LH30's on my 2002 Intrepid ES. The Goodyear's are much quieter than the Firestone's, even at high speeds. In addition, the steering is quick and precise. Discount Tire in Littleton had a great deal, and I will consider these tires on future cars. For now, I'm extremely pleased.

Grossly over rated tire
by silberma ,Nov 05 '07
Pros: None
Cons: Noisy and rough ride
Had these tires installed on my 2004 Honda Accord EX. The ride imemditaly deteriorated. Here are the issues:

1. Despite Goodyear claim these tires are not quite, they are noisier than my OEM Michelin Energy MVV4.

2. Tires induced vibration on roads that are not perfectly smooth that are felt in the steering wheel and body.

3. Vey harsh ride you feel every bump and tar strip on the road at any speed, Car rides like a truck.

4. exhanged them for the OEM tires after one week use

In the final analysis it is performance that counts, not how they look and what kind of thread wear warranty these carry.

Great Grip On Packed Snow, Good Highway Ride
by smushmouth ,Feb 28 '06
Pros: Good handling on snow and dry asphalt. They look good too.
Cons: Expensive, and with all-seasons you always sacrifice some winter performance.
I wanted an all-season tire that could last and still get me up to the mountains of Colorado on the weekends in my front wheel drive sedan. I have had the Blizzak tire and high-end summer tires before, but was tired of the expense of two sets of tires and wanted to avoid the hassle of switching tires twice a year. I tested these going up a steep snow packed road where four wheel drive is often required in the winter. I made it up, with little slipping. Not as good on snow as the Blizzak, but I'm hoping these will not get killed by asphalt like those did. On a four hour drive back from the mountains on dry highway, they performed fine and were relatively quiet. I have only had these for two weeks now, so I can't comment on their wear. If I had to make this purchase again, I'd get the same tires. If, however, you live somewhere where snow is on the ground all winter, the Blizzak is unbelievable. It just gets ripped down fast on asphalt. Oh yeah, I think the tread design on the TripleTred looks cool too.

Wonderful Tires!!!
by shattorak ,Nov 06 '07
Pros: Great handling, smooth ride, long tread wear.
Cons: A bit pricey but worth it.
About 3 years ago I purchased these tires for my 2000 Impala based on reviews and a recommendation from a dealer. I was so impressed with the ride and handling that I just purchased 4 for my 2006 Honda Civic and can say that they perform as well on this small car as they do on my Impala. Some of the negative reviews about the tread wear and noise may be attributed to improper rotation procedures. Since these are unidirectional tires you cannot rotate them from one side of the car to the other. If you do you will get terrible tread wear and road noise will sound like you have a stampede coming out of your trunk. I rotate my Impala tires front to back only and comparing the tread ware to the brand new ones on the Civic they look like I just purchased them last month. I have a 2003 Silhouette and when the tires need replacing Tripletread will be the only tires I buy.

Very Disappointed
by thoughtfulprof ,Nov 27 '08
Pros: Hopefully great winter traction
Cons: Harsh ride, louder than the cheapies I had on before
I have never written a consumer review, but I hope to spare someone a lot of grief.  After I had the Tripletred's mounted, I had not driven my Avalon across the parking lot before I knew I had spent a lot of money for tires that now make my previously comfortable sedan ride like a lumber wagon.  I have bought a lot of tires in over 30 years of driving, including some in third world countries, and I have never had tires ride so hard.  "Disappointed" cannot begin to describe my feelings, and I do not have the money to put these aside and go buy different ones.  Learn from my mistake - Consumer Reports recommended Michelins, and I should have listened.

Good tire but won't last nearly 80,000 miles
by seasthonda ,Oct 27 '08
Pros: Wet and dry traction, look sporty, not too noisy
Cons:

80,000 mile tread life claim is bogus

I just had my 2nd set of Tripletreds put on my Accord today from JustTires. Overall, I was happy with the first set. The tires performed very well. Good traction, handling, not too noisy. I also like the looks of the tires.

Don't expect them to last 80,000 miles. My 1st set had 48,000 miles and had 1/32 left. I rotated them regularly and had my alignment checked about once a year -- it was never out of spec. The shoulders of the tires also seem to wear quickly.

The store manager said this was pretty much normal for Tripletreds and gave me a significant mileage credit discount on the new set. I paid $250 out the door including road hazard guarantees. He said they do this often enough for Tripletreds that he didn't even check my rotation history in the computer.

Goodyear won't honor warranty
by frtitz999 ,Nov 23 '07
Pros: I don't have them anymore
Cons: Terrible wear. Goodyear will try to cheat you on the warranty.
Had these tires for only 30.000 mi before they needed to be replaced. Goodyear offered a new set for 1/2 price instead of 1/3 price, citing uneven wear on the edges. Except the grooves on the edges are not as deep as those in the center when new. Did rotations as specified (mostly by Goodyear dealer), and alignment was checked by Goodyear and Toyota dealer and found to be OK. Goodyear said that for them to fully honor their warranty, that I should have recorded the following at each rotation: PSI, measure tread depth at three points across tire, mark tires to make sure they actually got rotated. What a crock! A Goodyear dealer did the rotations.
DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES! DO NOT BUY ANY GOODYEAR TIRES! I know I won't.

TripleTred causes vibration on my 2000 Honda Odyssey
by jasper60103 ,Jul 01 '08
Pros: Good all weather tires
Cons: Vibration problem
I purchased (4)TripleTreds tires for my 2000 Honda Odyssey in April 2008 after reading all the great reviews here on epinions. When driving home, I noticed the steering wheel had some vibration at hwy speeds (60-70 mph). I didn't return to Goodyear right away because I was hoping the tires would smooth out in time. That was a bad decision. Unfortunately, I waited too long, beyond the 30 day Goodyear exchange period.
The Goodyear dealer did rebalance the tires for me, indicating 3 of the tires were out of balance, but the vibration issue only improved slightly. I know I didn't have this problem before with my old tires, and this gets to be annoying on long hwy trips. I paid over $600 for this set of tires and I feel they should produce a smooth comfortable ride.
Anyway, if I had to do over again, I would choose the ComforTreds.

Substandard product
by agrasic ,Jul 11 '06
Pros: Good manufacturer ratings for rain, snow and dry road driving
Cons: Tread disappears well before the "promised" 140,000km
Goodyear's Assurance TripleTred Tire is among Goodyear's top rated products. They contain many features such as excellent drivability rating in the snow, rain and on dry road. They also hold a 140,000km use warranty.

I've had my tires for just under 9 months and have put just about 15,000km on them and they are already ready for the recycler. The tread has worn down so much that they are no longer road worthy. It truly is a disappointment especially with the money that I had spent on them.

Excellent Wet/Dry.....but....Snow/Ice Under-acheiver....
by awsm869 ,Dec 21 '07
Pros: WET, DRY - AWESOME DECENT TREAD WEAR LIFE
Cons: SNOW / ICE - Close to SUCKING HARD!
I put these on my wife's FWD Vibe after having a good experience with the Fortera Tripletred's on my AWD SUV. However, they are not living up to my expectations in snow at all. I assumed they would be great as I have no problems with the set on my truck but I think the AWD is really making a substantial traction difference. I've actually been stuck in the driveway with the Triple Tred's in 4 inches of packed snow/ice and got stuck on a residential street that my SUV tackled with ease just moments before.

If winter performance is not a large concern...these are amazing on wet, dry, even slushy winter roads...but when it comes to tackling packed snow and ice, the boasts of Goodyear don't live up to their rep. on the roads!

Vibration Problem very pesky vibration at 65 MPH and up.
by rickmckean ,Aug 21 '08
Pros: Nice handling tire on the expressway and on tight turns very responsive.
Cons: Vibration and a bit noisy I was warned about the noise when I purchased.
My Goodyear Assurance P225 60 R16 on my Cadillac De Ville have a vibration that can not be balanced out. I have had my tires re balanced 4 times and the nagging vibration is still there.
I am a former auto mechanic that specialized in suspension and balances. These tires have me baffled and I am not one to pursue the manufacturer to replace but I am going to do this. I bought Goodyear for the first time as I have always had Michelin Tires on my cars. I wanted to keep Americans working.
I have been out of the auto business for many years and not one to complain as I dealt with many issues as a service manager for both a car dealership and also a Goodyear sub company back in the 70's..
I am disappointed.

Security
by lorajuneb ,Dec 18 '07
Pros: Excellent feel of the road.
Cons: The price is high but these tires are worth every penny!
I love the feel of the road under me knowing that I'm not going to slide across the road on slick roads. That's what these tires do. I live in the Seattle area so we get a lot of rain and I never feel as if I'm driving over the road, I feel as if I'm driving ON the road. No complaints here, and I've owned them now for four months.
