Pros: Excellent Zoom, sharp photos even at high digital zoom settings, EXIF info on all photos Cons: Lens slow. Body chintzy. Flat Display. Settings reset. No top-readout. Markings rub-off.
I wanted this camera for the fantastic zoom that it offers, both in the 8X optical zoom and the 7X more in digital mode (total of 56X zoom). I already own a Canon G2. I love that camera very much and it's served me well (see my review of the G2). The ...
Pros: 8x optical zoom, 4 mega-pixel resolution Cons: Eats batteries, 16M of memory not enough
We have a baby due soon so it was the ideal excuse to upgrade our digital camera from a JVC DVM70 (see my epinion on that) which could only take 640x480 sized pictures, pretty poor resolution for 2003. (To be fair the JVC is also a camcorder, and we...
Pros: Great zoom capacity, intuitive menu structure, high quality images, great value Cons: Limited ISO range (only 100 and 200). Need to pre-focus. Otherwise excellent.
(See update at bottom) I researched long and hard before selecting the HP 850 and believed it to have the best combination of features for the money; I have not been disappointed. I had read reviews which posed a number of criticisms, virtually none o ...
Pros: Great pictures, intuitive interface, easy downloads. Cons: Slow autofocus and shutter speed in Automatic mode.
When my wife and I went out looking for a new digital camera, we had a specific set of criteria in mind. We wanted a resolution of at least 3 Megapixels, the highest optical zoom we could find for a price, and an interface simple enough for my wife to...
Pros: Great quality, awesome zoom, good battery preservation, video mode Cons: a bit bulky, a little slow on the focus
My wife and I got this camera to replace our aging point and shoot 1.3 MP digital camera with no zoom. With a baby on the way, it was the perfect excuse. With much planning and mulling over features, price, and convenience we decided on the HP 850-...
Pros: 8X optical zoom, good pics even at night. Easy operation. AA bateries Cons: Auto focus slow. 16 meg card too small.
Software is buggie
I've had my HP850 since before Christmas. I find it takes very nice pictures for what it is ( 4 meg pixel ). It is very important to either use a tripod or other way to stablize yourself if you use very much zoom. Or you get blured pictures. But that is...
Pros: Good image quality
Cool viewfinder
Easy to read LCD (not sunlight readable)
Great optical zoom Cons: Fragile (cheap plastic housing)
Very slow
poor customer support (HP)
I purchased this camera approximately 1.5 years ago. The camera received high ratings for its digital image quality. This is the main reason why I purchased it. We have used it four to five times a week and have been very happy with the quality of ...
Pros: Pretty good zoom, LCD in the view finder is great, cheap, takes night shots Cons: focus problems, pixelization, color separation, major shutter lag medium light
I have used two other digital cameras before this one, and I have to say that the pictures from my 2 Mega Pixel camera are better. The interpolation for the color is horrible. I have one shot of a tan box in a slight shadow that looks more like an RGB...
Pros: super sharp photos, comparable to my SLR. Very easy to use. Great zoom Cons: hard to see through viewfinder in bright light. drains batterys quickley
I really like this camera. After useing an SLR for years, I prefer a Camera that has a nice grip, and feels durable.
This body is very similar to that of an SLR. The window is good size and easy to view indoors. Outdoors, in bright light, it is...
Pros: Great zoom, good feature set Cons: Pictures are HORRIBLY blurry
I have been playing with this camera now for about 10 days, and I have yet to take a non-blurry picture. I bought it because it is an HP (a brand I trust and owned previously) and because of its outstanding optical zoom. That is its strongest point....
Pros: Many features, good software Cons: As mentioned above
Purchased the 850 in March of this year for a trip. Immediately had problems with the Nicad batteries that came with the unit. Would not take a charge. Ended up purchasing some premium nicads and they charged OK. However, continue to have problems ...
Pros: High quality pictures Cons: Battery life & HP Support
Everyone else has already given rave reviews of the pros. It seems that nobody, especially HP, is interested in addressing the fact that this camera comes with a limit of 128MB SD card capacity. I contacted HP support just this evening and their answer...
Good pictures, but technically challenged by foxleyw ,May 15 '06
Pros: Zoom and picture sharpness; ease of use Cons: Warranty replacement is refurb; technical breakdowns.
Generally excellent pictures, easy to use and excellent optical zoom. A bit slow to zoom and record images. However, mine was returned with a colour fault on images within a few weeks of purchase and only warranty choice was replacement by a refurb. Found particular problem when batteries die as an operation is being carried out, eg storing pictures. Several times power restart or time unpowered cured this. Latest occasion appears terminal, and hp email support offers no more than basic advice already on site.
Plastic body cracks at battery compartment SD card won't stay in place. by donmattick ,Oct 01 '07
Pros: Was great when it worked. Cons: Less than 2 years and stopped it working.
Camera was never dropped yet a crack developed at the hinge point. Crack is widening as we speak. Now the SD card does not stay in it's slot. Of course now I have no ability to take pictures. The latch that holds it in must be affected by the crack. I now have $399.00 Civil Service Rocket. (Won't work and you can't fire it.) Thanks to HP for such a shoddy product. Went to their web site to complain and never got an answer. Camera decided to fail at my grandaughters wedding. Bummer.
Hard Krome Slash-Cut Staggered Duals Exhaust System Visually stunning in looks and performance; a combination of classic beauty and cutting edge. Doublewall technology. Feature large 2.5n++ diameter dou...
