Pros: Fast, Easy scanning, two buttons Cons: Too bright, too heavy, uses power
HP 3300C is not bad at all.
Things I really like about it:
- relatively fast (through USB)
- senses the image and sort of cuts it out while scanning making it easy for the user (sort of like previewing and scanning 2 in 1)
(in...

Pros: Easy to use Cons: Newer versions out
The HP ScanJet 3300C is a good all-round scanner. It has a good colour sensitivity and resolution and is very easy to use, with scan and print buttons on the machine. The only thing that it lacks is an email button, which higher versions do have. ...

Pros: -- Cons: --
Never having used a scanner before, I wanted one mainly to scan pictures to send through the internet. I may also scan documents for business in the future, which makes this scanner perfect. It was easy to install and use, and took only a little advice...

Pros: 600 dpi, great scanner, reliable Cons: n/a
Nothing to brag about, the HP ScanJet 3300C is a reliable way to scan and print documents and pictures with ease. I bought this scanner just a few days ago and I am pleased at how user friendly it is. The scan program is very self-explainitory. If I...

Pros: Affordable, Easy to use, Descent quality Cons: Not the best, Troubles with some Motherboard
I recieved this scanner as a Christmas Present in 2000. I hadn't used it it much because it seems to work perfectly on one of two computers I had. The one I wanted to use it on, being the computer I use primarily didn't not want to except it. After...

Pros: USB Connection. Cons: Needs to warm up before use.
This scanner is great. It connects to the PC with the USB port, which is the way I recommend. Any other way is terribly slow. The scan and copy buttons on the front of the scanner are nice. It prevents from having to open up the software yourself. The...

Pros: Great Scan quality, fast Cons: none so far
I bought this product because I own an HP Computer and HP Deskjet printer. I have come to trust HP. I have never had a problem with my computer since I bought it except for I did have to restore my system one time after a storm and had to call the HP...

Pros: Easy to use, great clarity Cons: none
I bought my HP ScanJet 3300 at the same time I bought my computer about a year ago. I didn't know anything about scanners so I figured HP was a good brand & the price was very good. I have used it a lot since I've bought it, mostly to scan photographs...

Pros: Saves time, energy and money. Cons: I see none
I recently purchased a complete HP Pavilion System which included an HP ScanJet 3300C. My girlfriend and I put the entire system together with no problems at all. She has a scanner, an HP I belive, but said that hers was a little difficult to hook up...

Pros: scanned quality good, easy to use, love the buttons on the scanner itself Cons: slow, ocr doesn't work right
For the money I spent ($75 on sale), it's a pretty good scanner. It's much better than the one I had before (Mustek 1200 CP).
It's a little slow at scanning, but I guess that's to be expected for a inexpensive scanner. I love the buttons...

Pros: neat,,trim,,looks great Cons: it won't install to win xp
My 3300c came from a yard sale for 5 bucks. Best way I've ever spent 5 bucks. The only thing is the cd won't install onto my comp which has WIN XP,,it was designed for win 95-98-- I'm limited to what it will do. I'm told to get a installation cd for win xp.
Does anybody have one. help me, mystudioworks@yahoo.com

Works Perfectly on Linux!!!
by lookingagain ,May 06 '06
Pros: Works with Linux, Quality Scans, Dependable, USB, Well Built, Simple to Use. Cons: None.
I saw this scanner in a yard sale today in perfect condition. Being an HP I thought it might work on Linux. So, because of its excellent condition and what looked to be a well designed scanner I got it. $8 isn't much to pay for a scanner to at least give it a try.
IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH SUSE 10.0 Linux on USB. It is now supported by SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy), a Linux package. A number of Linux distros support this scanner with everything you need. And, it works well with the KDE desktop.
I needed a reasonably priced scanner and this one has more than exceeded my expectations. It's easy to use and seems dependable. The black and white, and color scanning is perfect for me. I have documents and photos I need to occasionally scan for my business and the HP ScanJet 3300C is absolutely perfect. I have to rate it among one of the best purchases/deals I've ever done.
I very highly recommend the HP ScanJet 3300C.

Adequate for light personal use
by davebenham ,Aug 06 '04
Pros: cheap, very easy to install and use Cons: color is inaccurate, HP included software doesn't do much
If you're looking for extremely accurate color, fast speed, and flexible software, then you should pass on this unit.
However, if you are just a plain home user who wants to scan an occasional picture in and then print it out for family, you'll probably find this scanner is a good purchase for you.
Color is adequate. I often use it create copies of pictures I took before I got my digital camera. When comparing the color on my printed picture to the original, it is close, but often blues are stronger and the red is weaker. Not sure if this is only a scanner problem, or if it's a scanner/printer combo problem. But the photos in printed form are quite similar to the screen, so I'm tempted to lean toward the scanner as the problem.
