Pros: Storage capacity, user controlled temp range, size Cons: None really, other than no available humidity control
When we moved into our new home, we lost our basement, and needed a cool place that could easily be controlled to contain our favorite bottles. While we don't have an extensive collection, we do usually have between 2 and 3 cases of vino on hand at a ...

Broke down right after warranty period
by bigeditor ,Jul 20 '05
Pros: Looks nice Cons: Doesn't work
Wouldn't you know it... just past a year, and the refrigerator stops cooling. Unplug it for an hour or so, and it will cool for a couple of days... then - back to warm. I've always run it in the same, air-conditioned spot. I'm trying to find out what I can do about it now...

Haier Model BC 112G Wine Cooler
by fda8328 ,Dec 07 '05
Pros: Looks good. Cons: Poor durability. Mined lasted 26 months.
Noisy when running.
Worked as it was suppose to for 26 months. Now temperature just keeps dropping and no amount of resetting gets it to stay at selected temp range. It dropped to 29 degrees before I pulled the plug.
I bought this model at the recommendation of a friend, but he too had problems with his model after 16 months.
It's a good looking cooler but with a short life-span. Of the four local repair stores recommended by Haier in the Phoenix area, two are no longer working on these models.

Haier 112G Wine cooler
by efnowoswiat ,Jan 06 '06
Pros: Kept accurate temperature during the lifetime of the product. Cons: The quality and service of the product is unsatisfactory.
I received this wine cooler from my son on Christmas 2003. By summer 2005, everything stopped working, the refrigeration unit, the lights and the temperature controller. Since it was no longer under warranty, I asked for a service center. I was told that they do not have service centers and that I should call a local refrigeration company. I called every company listed in the yellow pages within my area and was told they do not service these machines. I wouldn't have another Haier product in my home even if it were given to me for free.

Got this at Lowe's for $268
by preissig55 ,Jul 29 '05
Pros: Stylish, lockable, dual zone, manual temperature setting Cons: moderately loud, exposed coils
I was looking for a wine cooler and found that Lowe's carries the Haier 20 and 30 bottle coolers at prices well below what I saw online. I chose the 30 bottle since it has the dual zones for red and white wine and adjustable temperature controls. The 20 bottle cooler only has a red or white selection for temperature. I have had the cooler for one week and noticed it can be a little loud, like an old model refrigerator. It has exposed coils that will need cleaning and a 2 inch clearance from the wall.
The cooler is a nice complement to our kitchen.
