Good for making baby food, but not chopping. by nestkeeper ,Jan 16 '08
Pros: Dishwasher safe, compact. Good for processing baby food. Cons: Liquefies the food, slightly on the expensive side.
I bought this processor to quickly chop vegetables for soup, etc. the picture on the box shows vegetables in the 3 cup bowl nicely chopped in small uniform chunks.
Unfortunately, It didn't work for that purpose. I'll have to take it back. It liquefied the onion, and the celery and carrot were shredded to a fine pulp. Also, It doesn't seem to do well with more than a couple small pieces of vegetable. Large, unprocessed pieces stay on top, and the shredded vegetables on the bottom get smaller and smaller.
On the plus side, it seemed well made. It's attractive, and doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter, or in the cupboard.
I think it would be great for making baby food, or food for an elderly person. You can process the food to the point where it still has texture, or continue to process it further.
So it really depends on what you want to use it for. It could be a good buy for the right shopper.
