Pros: Inexpensive, works great to relieve and prevent colds Cons: None for us
We thought we have solved my husbands snoring problems. But when the weather turned cold and the heat went on it wasnt long before he was snoring and keeping me up at night. The sleep that I was getting wasnt restful. I was waking often ...
Pros: Within EVERYONE's budget Cons: Not as long an operation time as stated.

Pros: Easy to use, pleasing sound, and cheap! Cons: Automatic shut-off did not work, unit gets clogged.
I am reviewing the Vick's 1.5 Gallon Humidifier. I had this unit for about 5 months. After a bout of bronchitis and an asthma diagnosis, I thought it would be a good idea to purchase a humidifier. I purchased this specific unit because it was ...
Pros: Works great for illness, inexpensive, easier to upkeep than cool mist Cons: Needs salt to work and some cleaning
My husband purchased a Vicks warm steam vaporizer for me when I was pregnant with my third child and very sick, about three years ago. It was very inexpensive, at the time under $10. (They are now somewhat updated from the photo shown here, and cost ...
Pros: Inexpensive, cheap to replace, quiet operation (until it gets clogged) Cons: Noisy when clogged, ineffective medicine dispenser, gets too hot
Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Pleurisy, Asthma, Sinusitis, Allergies, you name it, and chances are if it’s an upper respiratory illness, I have experienced it in my lifetime. Sometimes you will look at the drug store shelves in awe over the number of ...
Pros: Low cost, wide stable base - won't tip over. Cons: Too much maintenance, minimal steam, didn't work well, had to replace it with newer model.
After having suffered from 3 back-to-back colds I decided to purchase a vaporizer with hopes that it would make sleeping at nights a little more comfortable for my throat, nose, and for breathing. The first night I used the vaporizer, it worked ...
Pros: Inexpensive, quiet Cons: Steam production is not consistent nor reliable. Vaporizer leaves large amount of black residue.
I live in California and the winters here are very dry which causes havoc with my nose. Having a dry and crusty nose is not pleasant. My nasal passages become so dry they will crack and bleed. I purchased the Vicks Vaporizer. The difference between ...
Pros: Cheap, produces steam Cons: Awkward filling and cleaning, water doesn't last, not kid-friendly
To begin with, the tank is a very wide, very short tank with a 3 inch hole at the top. This makes it very awkward to fill. You can't do it in the sink, you have to do it at the bathtub, unless you plan on carrying the water to the unit. Second, ...
Pros: Smooth Rounded Contours Cons: Quickly builds up nasty fungus! Cleaning the top part of the unit is a nightmare
Within two days or so it quickly builds up with a lot of nasty "Fungus" The most upper top piece is the problem! (The part that sits in the hole above the water storage base of the unit) this part is very badly designed and extremely difficult to clean. ...
Pros: inexpensive,
no filter or wick,
light and easy to pack--if that pertains to you Cons: cheap,
small reservoir,
messy,
finicky,
probably not "child safe",
messy,

did I mention messy?
I have owned 3 of these units over a ten year span... trust me, I know them well. The good news and the bad news is it's cheap. The Vicks V-150 is a fine solution to help ease the congestion associated with the common cold in a SMALL bedroom. It ...
Pros: works well, size, shape, oil well Cons: night light, black flecks (mineral deposits)
I am pretty picky when it comes to humidifiers. I used to have the old '80s vaporiser thing and absolutely loved it - I wish it hadn't been tossed. After three trips (and returns of items) to the local drugstore, I finally settled on the Vick's ...
Low Price, Mediocre Quality by sunshiny ,Mar 13 '06
Pros: Simple to use, great price, no filters to buy, water lasts Cons: Small amount of steam, needs to be cleaned often
I bought this vaporizer because my daughter kept getting colds and I wanted to try and help her congestion. I liked the price (can't beat $20) and the simplicity of the product. The water will last for at least two nights so you don't have to fill it all the time. It's very easy to use and you don't have to replace filters or anything. However, you do have to wash it quite often in vinegar and water to get the black charcoal out. After a few days of use, it needs to be cleaned. This is a definite hassle. I find it doesn't get a lot of steam but if you add a little salt to the water it steams much more. I would prefer something for a larger area though since this one is very small and only puts out a small stream of steam. Overall, I think this is a good buy for the price. But, if you are looking for something that puts out a lot of steam, go for something larger.
Pros: Cheap works well for a few years Cons: Needs frequent cleaning, after four years of use it gave out even after several cleanings
I purchased this humidifier to help with my children's cold in the winter. It worked excellent for the first year, then slowly it's output decreased even after multiple cleaning. Now it just puffs once in a while after 4 years of use.

Pros: So far it has worked great for over 3 years. Cons: Will have to clean it frequently (depending the use).
I've had this unit for now over 3 years, to clean it; you need to soak the heating unit in fresh water with vinegar (I use white vinegar) this help to dissolve the build up inside the unit, shake it to make sure the build up comes out, sometimes if the build up is too big I use the end of a fork to break it up. When I do not get too much steam from it I add a little bit of salt, if I recall correctly (from the user manual) the water sometimes due to chemicals is hard to vaporize adding salt helps but you have to play it by ear sometimes adding to much will make your house look like a steam room. I hope this helps.

Pros: Helps my breathing and clears my sinuses Cons: Its not consistant in steaming. It went from a very strong stream to little puffs.
I love this product when it works. I bought it because I have allergies and its very dry in the winter. What I don't know is why the steam isn't comming out like it used to. Is there a way to clean it? I lost the instructions, if there were any. I would appreciate any help
