Pros: Rhymes, Great Early Reader Book, Simple, Seuss illustrations Cons: ~
I have always loved Dr. Seuss books and so enjoy reading them to children. I get as caught up in the rhymes as the children do. I do have to admit, at times Im just not sure how the rhymes manage to take all of the turns that it does in ...
Pros: Clear presentation of short words that "build" on one another; fun rhymes; whimsical illustrations Cons: None really
At our house these days we are in what I like to call "the land of three letter words." That's because my almost five year old has begun to read. I've been teaching her with a phonics based system, and we're about half-way through the program. She has ...
Pros: Simple words help children feel sense of accomplishment Cons: A little too long for younger readers
When children are learning to read repetition is important. Seeing the same letters, hearing the same sounds and saying the same words over and over again helps them master this important skill. Unfortunately, as a parent, I want more variety. So, as I ...
Pros: The best early reader I've ever found Cons: None
There are many authors I like, but there are a few that I find difficult to discuss without sounding like I'm gushing. Among these are Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Emily Brontë, Edgar Allan Poe...and Theodor Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss. ...
Hop on Pop is a children’s “I Can Read it All By Myself” book that was written and illustrated by Dr. Seuss. It was published in 1963. It was a favorite of mine when I was growing up and I remember learning to read a lot of the words in it by just ...
Pros: Simple, wonderful starter book. Cons: None at all
Hop on Pop is a very simple Dr Seuss book. It is a great way to start off your kids with books from this great writer. Right on the cover of the copy we have, it says The SIMPLEST SEUSS for YOUNGEST USE. This statement is very true....
This book is a staple in our house. We started reading this book to our daughter when she was one month old, and at three, she still requests to read it. The simplicity of this book makes it ideal to read to your children.
"Hop on Pop" was one of the first the first books that I
learned to read from. One good thing about being a parent is having the opportunity to read this book again.
This is a book that contains a variety of simple...
Pros: Good for younger children; all the words rhyme. Cons: None
"Hop On Pop" is a cute and funny book that all younger kids love. Almost every word in this book rhymes, and it's cool how they put in a phrase like "Red Ted", then switch it around to "Ted is red". It has a lot of little words and names in it like Ned, red, Ted, pat, sat, bat, and so on, so it is good for children just learning to read. I am in the fifth grade and I still like this book.
