Pros: Better Characters, Decent Acting, Gory Special Effects. Cons: Script not sensational. A bit predictable.
I have a tendency to avoid sequels. This especially holds true when the sequel is based on a film I have already seen and did not like. It was out of character for me to watch Hostel: Part II. I was actually surprised that the ...
Pros: Acting not bad for the horror genre. Cons: Some scenes crossed the line and were unnecessary.
I like horror films, and I expect a certain amount of gore to be in films of a violent nature but I must admit I was actually shocked by Hostel 2 because I believe that it crossed the line on what is acceptable to be shown in a movie, at least ...
Pros: Excellent direction & plot, the torture sequences are as grisly as ever. Cons: Run-of-the-mill characters and accompanying exposition.
Note: This is a review of the unrated version. What is the desired worth of a torture flick in today's world of PG-13 horror films and summer blockbusters? The first Hostel was a major success, in director Eli Roth's opinion, because it ...
Pros: Keeps you on the edge of your seat Cons: A bit too brutal and too much gore for me
Hostel part 2, as its name suggests, is the sequel to Hostel. Launched in 2007 Hostel part 2 did not live up to its predecessor and managed to gross just over $8.2M in its first weekend, which was a major shock to the film critics and both Eli Roth and ...
Pros: Suprise ending. Great movie, Quentin Tarantino gives us another great one. Cons: Hostel 3 is not out yet.
Although I liked Hostel, I walked out of the theatre from Hostel 2 with a smile on my face, fear in my heart and delight all over. The previews were very encouraging and when I heard about the "great ending", I had to go see Hostel, Part 2 on its ...
I wanted so badly to like this movie that the fact that I'd like it was a foregone conclusion for me. I never considered the idea that I wouldn't like it. I loved the original "Hostel," I love (and hate, but mostly love) the director Eli Roth, and I ...
Do you like blood and gore? Do you like gruesome horror scenes? Well then this is definitely the movie for you. Hostel 2 does a great job of filming horror sequences that bring in just the right amount of blood and gore - without going too overboard. ...
The Czechs Frighten Me in “Hostel Part II” by marie1963 ,Nov 03 '07
Pros:
Short and horribly sweet.
Cons: None
What is the worst thing you have ever done? What is the worst thought that ever came to your mind? If you were rich, and you had the opportunity to do whatever you wish whether its hideous, or savage would you do it?
According to Eli Roths gruesome sequel Hostel Part II the rich kill for sport when they pay the right price.
When I saw the first installment of Hostel I not only enjoyed it very much, but I also found its thematic tale of kidnapping, murder, mutilation, the macabre, torture, and a delightfully errie ambiance of horror to be most intriguing. Moreover, we dont see as much as the above in Hostel II.
In this gruesome tale of horror three American students studying in Rome are drawn to a grim world of murder, and torture when a fellow classmate, and beautiful model lures them to a weekend gateway to Czeschoslovakia. Eager to get out their classrooms these students take a trip that will haunt their lives with an inexplicable turn of events.
Hostel Part 2 is a good and short (94 mins) horror flick thats worth a look-see. Horror fans this one is for you.
Pros: None in MY opinion! Cons: 2 hours of my life that I will NEVER get back!
The storyline lacked quite a bit! I had never seen the first one, but I was told that I didn't need too! So practically the entire first half of the movie didn't make sense to me! I didn't understand why or what was going on. Some of the things that happened were not exlained and did not really make sense and left me sort of lost. The movie seemed to be more about gore and violence then about a storyline/plot with developing characters! There was no purpose for most of it really it seemed! I almost puked on that last part at the end when she was leaving (I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't seen it...but those that HAVE...KNOW what I'm talking about!!).
