Pros: Lightweight, easy to operate, just very very cool. Cons: Expensive, huge, parental supervision absolutely required, plastic wheels.
When we told our son we were finally going to buy him his first "real" vehicle, he knew exactly which one he wanted. He'd been eying it since last summer, when he was still too young to drive. He wanted that pretty pink and silver Barbie Jeep. ...
Pros: LOOKS MASSIVE AND WELL BUILT. Cons: LOOKS ARE DECEIVING, POOR DESIGN, ,POOR MATERIALS,SMALL CHILDREN CAN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL
Don't let any of these reviews sugar coat this toy.It is impossible for a normal three or four year old to steer this toy on concrete, grass or loose rock. An adult will have to run alongside the toy in low speed to guide it, because it is almost ...
Pros: Looks great - fun radio feature Cons: Flimsy construction, unreliable
We bought this Hummer for our 3 year-old and 18 month-old with high hopes. We knew it was Little Tikes first foray into the motorized vehicle market, but we loved the looks of it and took the plunge. We wanted a vehicle that stood out from all the ...
Pros: Even older kids beg to have a turn. Cons: cheesy radio, the broken gas pedal, stripped gear, bad traction=JUNK
We purchased the Hummer H2 in red from WalMart on 9/4/06 as a birthday present for our 3 yr old. This monster sized ride-on looks cool and tough with plenty of power on the street,in the grass and dirt with its posi traction rear, however there are ...
Pros: Speed, battery capacity, rugged body, 1 year warrantee and repair Cons: Gears can strip with very heavy use and abuse
I was amazed at the power of these little cars. They are a hit with the three to five year olds in out neighborhood. They really can go about 5 mph on a flat paved surface. The battery capacity also is also hard to believe. The little car is good for ...
Pros: Cute design; can fit up to a 8 yr old Cons: Steering heavy for a 4yr old; large turning radius; Charges S&H for warranty service.
We purchased the Little Tikes yellow H2 electric ride on toy car from Costco.com for $290 for our 4 yr old boy and 8 yr old daughter. We received it via UPS 6 days after placing the order online. The assembly was very easy - one screw to attach the ...
Pros: 2 speeds, good battery life, room for 2 Cons: Gets stuck easy, cheap plastic wheels
We recently moved to a dead end street, and purchased this for our 4 year old. He loves driving it, never a problem with that. After 2 months though, both rear wheels split completely in half. Called Little Tikes about the warranty. Was informed a different company handled the Hummer H2's, National Products. Called them, the only option is to leave a message. Still waiting on a call back. Also noticed both front wheels seem to have bent outwards from from going over the curb from the road into our driveway.
UPDATE: National Products called back. With the serial number of the Hummer they could look up when it was purchased, so no receipt needed. They sent four wheels and end caps, no questions asked. Overall I'm pleased with their warranty service, but we'll just have to see how long the new wheels last.

Pros: Cute, minimal assembly Cons: Stripped gears, turn radius is too wide
Bought it Sunday, busted on Monday. After about 3 hours of total use, the gears were stripped out. You could hear them grinding, and the tires wouldn't move. I took the vehicle to my local Batteries Plus (listed as an authorized service center) who was able to put new gears in and I picked it up right away.
In addition to the gears being stripped, the gentleman at Batteries Plus showed me a burn mark, complete with melted plastic, on the undercarriage of the vehicle. He said that there was a duplicate mark on the other side of the first mark. As I was looking at this, I noticed other soot-looking type stuff along the edge, giving me the idea that it had been somehow burned and cleaned up for re-sale. I can only assume this happened at Little Tikes, as the box from Wal-Mart was sealed. I called (whoever it is that services Little Tikes ride-ons) and they authorized the return of the vehicle and refund of my money. I'll be purchasing some other ride-on, but I will not buy another Little Tikes item.
Pros: Durable with 2 speeds and has two seats to accommodate a friend or sibling Cons: The CB radio is not attached and can be easily lost.
We bought this for my oldest son's 3rd birthday. He'll soon be 4 and it's still his favorite outdoor toy. It took a few months for him to learn to steer it, but that is to be expected at age 3.
My son really enjoys driving his 2 year old brother around the neighborhood and gets me out for a daily walk.
Some of it's best features include two seats with pretend seatbelts, two speeds plus reverse, and a working radio.
This is a great toy for the money and I highly recommend it!

Pros: Cool looks, kids loved it Cons: The gears keep stripping out, turn radius is big
I bought this for my boys birthdays in October, rode about 10 times total and gears stripped out by November. We returned for new one in December, rode 5 times and gears stripped out. I pulled off the seat to look at the gears and the gear box was loose on one of the wheels. I didn't want to mess with it and shouldn't have to mess with "fixing" a brand new toy for this kind of money. Max weight is 130#, my boys together weigh 83#s. Its hard to explain to a 3 yr old why he can't ride the cool Hummer. For $270 bucks I would think you could at least get a year or so out of it with normal use. We're returning this one for a different brand that has more background with battery operated ride on toys.
Pros: Fast, older kids can fit and drive it Cons: radio was broken when we got it, still waiting for replacement 6 months later.
We bought this for my son's 2nd b-day with the intention that our 4 year old could drive him around in it until he got bigger. He loves H2'S so this was his very own. I don't know what kind of children can't drive or steer this but my four year old daughter was fine with it the second she drove it. If you are buying it for a 2 or 3 year old I think that is just too young and you are asking to be disappointed. You don't have to be hulk hogan's kid to steer that's for sure, just the proper age. I do think the age range should be 4 and up with 3 being at your discretion.
My daughter has a barbie jeep and I asked her if the h2 was harder to drive and she said no. She actually now likes the hummer better. Hopefully it will hold up. It has been going strong in our neighborhood on an almost daily basis since March 07. Keep my fingers crossed!
Unless your 3 Year old is built like Popeye... by ramospk ,Jan 08 '07
Pros: Pretty model, powerful motor Cons: Steering is VERY hard for 3 year-old arms! NOISY, no traction, cheap wheels
...DON'T spend the money on this ride-on. Earlier reviews are correct: (the first review is an obvious advertising, if you ask me)
First: Our 3 year old cannot steer the car, it is so hard. Mom or I have to walk next to it and steer it for her.
Second: the wheels are hard plastic, not rubber. On concrete, they make a lot of noise. Traction is non-existent
Third: It is noisy!. the wheels make a racket. the little electric motor whines. the little real FM radio is a joke, mainly because it cannot be heard over the noise, and it doesn't tune right. No antenna and poor sound speaker, would be my guess.
Nothing has broken down on it yet, but we have not used it that much, just 4 short sessions. It will go on a return trip to the store this week.
Pros: At least two can ride in it as long as they are small. Cons: Too many bugs need to be worked out of this one.
I bought this for my grandchildren and have regretted it ever since. I should have returned it the first day. It didn't sound right from the beginning and has gone down hill ever since. It quit working so I bought a new battery for it and it still doesn't work. I bought my grandson a tractor before this and he loved it. I couldn't figure out why he never liked this as well. After reading the reviews I think it has to be the steering. It definitely doesn't maneuver as well as the tractor.
Pros: cute looking design Cons: speed and construction
My husband and I bought this for our 3 year old and she can drive it on her own but needs constant supervision because of the steering capabilities and awkwardness and difficulty in low speed. It's cute but does not perform as we expected. The speed is fine, but when in low gear it hardly has any power and our yard is a little hilly. When another small child age 4 or 5 gets in it with her it is very difficult to maneuver and again has to be repositioned constantly....I wish we had read these reviews prior to purchasing. She doesn't use it a lot and is already not interested in it because she can't use it independently...It also seems to have flimsy construction.
Pros: The Hummer has a cute design. Cons: Hot black seat and TERRIBLE steering system.
My husband and I actually inherited this Hummer from my in-laws because they didn't care for it and bought another ride on toy. After they gave it to us I see why they didn't care for it. The tires are too wide to be easy to steer and the seat gets unbearably hot in the summer sun after a very short time playing with it. If my daughter sits in the driver seat for a ride and then scoots to the passenger seat she gets burned on the back of her legs. That is one problem, however I still find the steering to be the biggest downfall. I wouldn't pay $200 or more for this machine and I am glad we were given the toy because we might have been fooled by the cute design otherwise.
