Pros: Close to beaches and San Diego attractions. Waterslides and firepits for kids. Cons: Some rooms are old. Can get crowded if there's a conference.
The hotel just went through a $65 million renovation. As a result, the name changed from Hyatt Regency Islandia to Hyatt Mission Bay Resort and Spa. As you can guess, the turned and old restaurant into a spa, added water slides, and updated the rooms. ...

Pros: Had a nice pool which was family friendly. Cons: See above...
I made a bid for this room at Priceline.com. Upon checking in I told them that my son was coming back from Iraq and that I wanted a nice room. Their response to that was "but you got this room from Priceline." If you look closely on Priceline, nowhere does it state that if you bid on a room, the person is then ineligible to negotiate a nice room. However, the person that checked us in used that as an excuse. Refrigerators were $10.00 a day. I like to think that I travel a lot and spend a lot of times in hotels, I have never been charged at an upscale hotel for a refrigerator. Perhaps however, the icing on the cake was $10.00 a day for parking. One should not expect these types of charges from a hotel such as this one; I think it is more characteristic of a Quality Inn.
