by Bryan_Carey Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Aug 17 '05
Pros: Nutritional quality; A little less fat than other Iams
Cons: Costs more than popular brands
As a dog owner times two, I’m always on the lookout for products that my two pups will enjoy and that also have a good amount of nutritional value. There are many fine brands of dog food on the market but the brand I purchase most frequently is Iams, ...

Jeremy gives 2 Paws Up!

by scarbaby , Nov 23 '00
Pros: Good for med-large sized dogs, good price
Cons: Not good for little and low energy dogs
We chose to feed Jeremy our staffordshire/lab cross Iams Lamb meal and rice Formula because of it's high protein, high fat, low additives formula and it's reasonable cost.

I had a hard time keeping weight on Jeremy for most of his life....

Be Careful What You Eat!

by TrinityLisa , Jul 26 '00
Pros: Availability in grocery stores.
Cons: Can be too rich in protein.
My dog Sam is a healthy AKC Miniature Pinscher. He is about a year old. When he was a puppy he was raised on Euckanuba which was wonderful for him. Their puppy food had small bite size chunks that were easy for him to chew as a miniature needs and the...

Cons: Your dog my never want to eat another brand of dog food.

STINKY FOOD, but DOGS LOVE

by Dsouva , Jan 08 '01
Pros: Healthy for dogs
Cons: SMELLS BAD
I have 2 large dogs, and use IAMS Lamb and Rice Formula. I go through a 40 lb bag a month, at about 25.99 a bag. My dogs LOVE it. The actually eat less of it, and their stool is firmer and in lesser quantity... AN ADDED PERK, in my opinion. Both dogs do...

My dog loves this food!

by schaz , Aug 12 '00
Pros: Gentle on tummy, loved by dog
Cons: none
My dog loves this food. Gracie is a Great Dane puppy. Because Danes grow so quickly, you can't give them too much fat or protein or they get muscle mass faster than their skeletons can adjust. So at 4 months old, the breeder and the vet had me switch her...

Changed my dog's life

by Nutsycuckoo , Aug 04 '00
Pros: Tasty food and reasonable price
Cons: None
We just started using this kind of dog food recently with our 13 year old dog. Before then, we had always gotten some rotten brand from Costco because a.) it was cheap and b.) we could get it in major bulk and not buy it again for a year.

Tucker only eats the good stuff! This stuff is good!!!

by macopen , Sep 15 '00
Pros: Great shine to the coat, lots of energy, lots of nutrition
Cons: Price is slightly higher but not bad
I got my dog Tucker (Lab mix) from an animal shelter about 3 weeks ago. He was very scared and would only eat canned food. I tried Purina One and he would have starved him self if I didn't keep giving him the canned food. Then I tried Iams.

At...

Pros: GREAT nutrition, healthy coat, good for gums and teeth
Cons: Pricier than most store bought brands
We chose this brand of dog food because it was highly recommended by a vet 6 years ago. We had asked him about different dog foods because we were unhappy with grocery store bought food. At the time IAMS wasn't sold in grocery stores but was sold in Pet...

Is it worth it?

by gsdlady , Oct 10 '01
Pros: available in grocery store
Cons: available in grocery store
Iams was at one time a great food made by a great company. Before being bought out, Iams was only available in feed stores and through vets. Once Iams was bought by Procter and Gamble, they changed the formula of the food to less quality and now sell...
