I have been shopping for a 19 inch monitor for a few weeks now - I guess I am pretty picky about monitors. I am really picky about value - I want a great monitor at a small price. I think I have found the perfect solution! The KDS XF-9e costs me $219...

Pros: Affordable, good image quality, nice colors, straight lines and edges.
Cons: Display doesn't quite go edge to edge.

I needed something bigger to help with viewing my work. I'm in front of the monitor doing a bunch editing. This monitor makes it real nice. Soothing on the eyes and the resolution is great. I'm running it in 1024x768 mode and it makes my 17 inch monitor...

Pros: Good value, especially when on sale. Light weight and easy to master adjustment panel buttons.
Cons: There are no separate right and left pincushion nor parallel balance adjustments.

This is a great 19" monitor at a reasonable price. The color and clarity are exceptional and the crispness is razor sharp. But if you're looking for eye-popping, true-to-life gaming graphics, this monitor is *not* for you. This monitor is just a good, all-around everyday replacement for that old 15" or 17" that is getting hard to focus in on, especially if you're like me, past the 50 mark. Even though its limitation is 1600 x 1200, why would anyone need to go higher on a 19" (true 18.125" diagonal) screen?

The encasement is the newly-schemed black and silver - very techno-looking. The adjustment buttons take some getting accustomed to, but they're not impossible.

I will admit that I had posted earlier stating KDS will not honor the $30 rebate from Office Depot. Since then, I was informed by the clearing house that processes the rebates that a system SNAFU had bounced the rebate, and it had been corrected and my rebate would be honored. I followed up and my status had been changed to "Approved, in process."

Bottom line, buy this baby and enjoy. I did and now I can see what I've been missing.
