Pros: Low price, 10x optical zoom, uses 2 AA batteries, good photos, easy to use
Cons: Slow operation, annoying joystick, no image stabilization, noisy ISO 400-800
After using the popular K odak EasyShare Z740, I wanted to see how the updated model (Z650) works. The Kodak EasyShare Z650 is even cheaper than the model it replaced was a year ago. I bought the Z650 for $237, whereas ...

Pros: good quality photos, good features for a low cost camera
Cons: takes ages to focus, bright flash
I am really into photography and last time I reviewed a camera it was my Kodak CX7330 which is a really good digital camera. The only problem with it was that I wanted a camera with more advanced features and that one only having a 3x optical zoom it ...

There are probably better cameras, but this suits me well enough.

by treyghs , Nov 27 '06
Pros: Quality pictures, great zoom, lots of settings, variety of battery options, easy transfer with computer
Cons: Autofocus and autoflash are disappointing, delayed shutter, takes a while to be "ready"
This camera is a really solid value, and for the price I paid, I'm really satisfied, even impressed. My price of $270 included a cheap carrying case, a Li-ion battery pack, and two AA Ni-MH batteries with a charger. It has a very sleek design; the grip ...

We purchased this camera approximately a month before heading to Italy for two weeks. This was not our first digital camera, so I had specific requirements in our search to find the "dream" camera to capture our trip. The camera may be larger than ...

Good buy for the money

by maxiega , Nov 10 '06
Pros: Easy to use and yet flexible enough to meet the average persons needs.
Cons: Shutter is a little sluggish in automatic
I had an older DX6490 which when it came out two years ago was considered one of the better cameras available at the time. It had its problems but for a point and shoot camera it did produce nice prints. If someone hadn't stolen the old camera I ...

Love this camera
by misterjoza ,May 20 '06
Pros: Ease of use, great zoom, many programs, auto shooting, extremly quick auto focus, great look.
Cons: missing image stabilisation, could be heavier(uses 2xAA)
Have been using the camera for two weeks and had no problems with it. It was a smooth experience. It is one of the easiest to use cameras in the class. Has many different settings and each is explained for couple seconds once you switch to it. Auto Focus on it is a strong feature which makes up for the missing image stabilization. Videos are pretty nice. The sound of indoor video is very clear, but outside there is some wind noise. Pictures are clear and with very natural color. The display size is just about perfect(2 inch). I have used the lens adapter which is included in the package and instead of another lens added a UV filter to it. Now the lens is cased in and protected plus the camera is easy to hold while shooting. Extends the lens section and gives it a nice SLR feel. If you are looking for a best deal outthere this is the camera to go with.

Excellent!!
by mrsclc ,Apr 28 '06
Pros: ease of use, vivid color, clear crisp picture quality, professional lens, high resolution, large LCD
Cons: a bit pricey
I am not the most technically inclined woman. I researched many cameras from many stores in many different brands. I found Kodak to be quite user friendly and with many great options. I figured out how to use the camera with hardly looking in the user guide! It is pretty straight forward and the picture quality is excellent, 6.1mp gives you great pictures. The Z650 also has a professional quality lens so the pictures are sharp and clear and the 10x optical zoom lets you get right up on the shot. The Kodak color science chip makes colors true and bright. I am extremely pleased with my kodak EasyShare Z650 camera. There are so many features that make this camera a fantastic value. My oldest son likes the optional shutter sounds. We chose the "scifi" lazer sound so upon turning it on and off and shooting a picture, it makes a cool sound. It helps to get the kids to smile for a picture. Kodak has thought of everything with this one!

Great Camera For The Cost
by jared845 ,Feb 15 '08
Pros: The camera is very sharp looking. The features are excellent. The video is even great.
Cons: I Have No Cons The Camera is Nothing Less Than Perfect
I have owned my Z650 for a couple weeks now and can say that it has been nothing less than perfect. I am not a professional photographer by any means. I am just the average "take a few here and there" kind of guy who likes a quality photo result. This camera has all of the features that a novice should need...and probably more. My old camera was simple to use as well, however, I always got blurry photos no matter what I tried. The zoom on this camera is superior to any digitals I have seen or tried. Additionally, this camera is very light weight and compact enough to pack into glove compartments or consoles in most cars.

If I had to recommend one additional item to purchase, it would be some sort of protective case. I use the neck/shoulder strap and always fear the camera swinging and striking some statonary object. A case of some type will be on my shopping list very soon.

Good picture quality for a low price
by singh129 ,Mar 24 '08
Pros: 6.0+ megapixels, 10x optical zoom
Cons: Limited ISO setting (800 maximum), no image stabilization. Flash is too bright.
The Kodak Z650 Digital Camera provides decent picture quality with 6.0+ megapixels. The 10x optical zoom is one of the key features that led to my decision of purchasing this camera. At the time of the purchase I had been comparing several digital cameras and this one seemed the most economical based on the features. It may seem a bit bulky in comparison to other compact Digital cameras. It uses AA, CRV3 lithium, and Ni-MH batteries. I prefer the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. I bought a separate battery charger and Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, which are a great alternative to the AA batteries. Pictures that are taken without the built in flash and under low light settings appear unfocused. Manual settings provide better results in comparison to the automatic mode. I was a bit disappointed with the ISO settings. The highest it can go to is 400 at full picture quality, and 800 at the 1.7 megapixels setting. Photography enthusiasts will find a decent amount of manual settings, including shutter speed, exposure, f-stop, ISO settings, and settings for the lighting environment. It's a great choice for outdoor photography. It provides crystal clear and picturesque shots of the outdoors.
