Pros: Versatility, ergonomics, long zoom and battery life, fast startup and operation, excellent color, sharp. Cons: No low light focus assist, no microphone, vulnerable card slot.
The Minolta DiMAGE Z20 is the model that appears to be replacing the DiMAGE Z10, a camera I also have owned. This is a real good camera for somebody who wants to have it all (almost) but just can't afford one that does. And believe me, there isn't one ...
Pros: Powerful 8x zoom; great battery life; easy to use; good focus; many manual settings Cons: ISO CCD noise; unattached lens cap; "dark" lens
The Z20 occupies a niche market with limited appeal - the "super zoom" digital camera. Far too bulky to be put in a pocket, super-zooms provide some of the performance of a "serious" DSLR-level camera at a third of the cost. HP, Olympus, Canon, Nikon, ...
Pros: Features and weight for price. Cons: LED screen issues, poor control locations.
I bought my Dimage Z20 in April 2005, which makes it a dinosaur (and Konica-Minolta has since folded). I will say that at the time it was a great camera for the money. Only a year later, however, my husband bought a lot more and better camera for less ...
Pros: Reasonably priced, high quality pictures with true-to-life color Cons: None
This is my third digital camera. I was shopping for one with high megapixels and decent optical zoom, most seriously considering the Kodak 10x optical zoom EasyShare. I found this model at Costco. For nearly $100 cheaper than the Kodak, it came with ...
Pros: The Dimage Z20 takes great pictures and is easy to use. Cons: Viewfinder locks up so you can't use LCD screen. Lens cap not attached.
I decided to buy a good digital camera for a trip to Ireland I took last month. After extensive research, I decided on the Konica Minolta Dimage Z20 because of it's large optical zoom (8x)and 5 megapixels. It's also very well priced for a camera with ...
Pros: Takes Great pictures, Easy on batteries, easy to use, reasonable price & numerous features Cons: Could use a microphone for video.
This is a great camera. I bought it just before Christmas because I had been wanting something better than the old Sony P30 I had been using. The Sony was only 1.3 mp. The first thing I appreciated was the feel of it in my hand. All the ...

Pros: light, sleek, sharp, zooming, easy to use, easy access. Cons: no anti vibration, took a long time to focus.
The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 Digital Camera digital camera comes with a sleek and futuristic design, suitable for all group of ages. It is light and easy to hold suitable for capturing action. The resolution is quite adequate for this range of camera, DiMAGE Z20 is able to produce clearer and sharper image as compared to other brand of its kind.
Pros: 5MP with 8X optical bargain Cons: size, lens cap not attached to camera
Somebody has mentioned in these reviews that the screen viewfinder can't be used and locks up. This is not the case, there are two modes, one to use the traditional view finder to conserve bettery and the other to use the screen.
Pros: 1cm macro, long battery life, good fast focusing, good movie mode, dioptric control, 5MP allows for cropping, aperture and shutter priority, uses cheap SD cards
Just received the camera for my birthday. Absolutely love all the great features. The view finder is especially nice. Clean clear picture. I haven't had any problems with it. I have never written a review before, and was so impressed that I just had to. As a photographer I love the feel of the design and the work-ability of it being close to a 35m camera. Close up shots are incredibly clear and crisp. It is quick to shoot and has a quick shoot that will save the last 6 pictures without hesitation for capturing the best picture.
A very very good and inexpensive digicam by macgeezer ,Jun 27 '05
Pros: -Sharp images, fast startup time, 8Xoptical zoom, really close up macro images Cons: -Lens cap should be attached to camera
This model has now been discontinued. Actually it means that the price (which was always low) has now plummeted. If you don't mind it being yesterday's model (nearly literally so), well then I recommend this Dimage Z20 heartily.
Both the viewfinder and the LCD-screen work for me. The battery life is very good. Admittedly the LCD screen could be larger, but as such it is rather sharp.
The are plenty of various modes and menus to fiddle with -- but the AUTO setting handles most situations well enough. The images are vivid, sometimes more than enough. This is not a problem for me as a use Photoshop or iPhoto to set exposure levels and saturation afterwards.
