Pros: inexpensive, replaceable, fine control settings, reasonably quiet Cons: creates more coffee dust than I'd like
Short answer: a qualified Yes. Qualified, because if you have more money to spend on your coffee, there are much better options, but definitely, spend the money for a burr grinder, not a blade grinder. But this is Epinions, and a longer answer ...
Pros: Good for the money. Takes up precious little counterspace. Elegant design aesthetic. Cons: Printing on item could be clearer. Receptacle container needs improvement of operation.
Like many Americans, I love my coffee in the morning. The feeling of caffeine running through my veins to wake me up and get me moving for the day is just what I need. Yet I am no coffee snob. I cannot taste the delicate, distinct ...
Pros: Styling, German engineering looks, cup and grind selector knobs Cons: clogs or jam consistently, uneven grind. Quality control issues
I have owned a few grinders in the past, (Braun KSM2 blade & Cuisinart DBM-8 burr) and I had high hopes for this model. Being the Krups brand with German engineering, I purchased this model from Macys November 2007 after donating my Cuisinart to my ...
Pros: easy to clean Cons: Basically the entire machine.
I got this machine because of the name, the price and reputation of the brand. However, I soon discovered that buying this machine was a major mistake. Fromthe very beginning, the grind was very uneven, beans would not feed into the burrs, the selector ...

I realized that my old Mr. Coffee blade grinder was not going to be up to snuff in producing a consistent grind fine enough for this machine. While many coffee purist sites say that you ...
Pros: Looks nice. Cons: Breaks easily, messy to use with the static.
I bought this product on Friday from Macys. Used it twice and it broke. I brought it back and got another one. That one broke after one use. I am using Starbucks beans which I know are oilier but give me a break. It should not have broken this easily. I have had cheaper Mr. Coffee burr grinders that lasted a year. I even had a $100 Bodem model last me a year. That seems to be all they last with my experience but this was unbelievable. I went and had my coffee ground at BJ's where I buy my coffee beans. I give up on trying to find a strong burr grinder.
Works but slow and static city by mike_ottawa ,Jan 23 '07
Pros: Good for home use. Good consistent grinding. Cons: A little too slow and too much static
I wanted a grinder that had good volume. This one does, but it is very slow. I wanted something for doing 12 pots a day but I would be grinding all the time. I also can't imagine how the coffee grinds would be scattered all over; the grinder generates a wicked amount of static and the beans stick to everything. It's likely the real dry winter air that's making that worse. It's frustrating; however, I've found that knocking the grounds into a ziplock sandwich bag and then into a basket filter works well for cutting down the mess and static. The ziplock is also handy if I grind extra.
We've done 10 pots of Starbucks coffee today and the flavour was GREAT. Grinding is always the way to go to get the best taste. My blade grinder died from the heavy daily demand, we'll see how long this one lasts at about 12 pots a day.
Also, I do notice that the grounds do not get as hot with this grinder when compared to the blade grinder. This is the purpose of burr grinders and the it appears to be validated under experimentation.
Not great with oily beans and makes a mess by joelfire ,Mar 01 '08
Pros: The result is good Cons: Slow, messy, has a hard time with oily beans
If you like oily dark roasted beans like Peets, you need to constantly shake while grinding to get the burrs to "catch." Also, as another reviewer said, it makes a mess due to all the static. Those two things aside, it grinds well, but after using it for a few months I've decided it's not worth the hassle and came here to epinions to find a better one.
Pros: 1 Year Warranty. Quiet. Fast. Consistent grind quality. Good value @ $60
Cons: None yet.
1 Year Warranty available via mail in or website. Quiet. Fast. Consistent grind quality. Value priced at $60. Although I just bought this product today, I think that we will enjoy a rather nice & long relationship of good coffee together. This product has exceeded my every expection by a long shot. Was told today this is regulary used by a Star Bucks employee. Good enough for me as this is my very first Coffee Bean grinder. Burr grinders are the quieter and more consistent ones.
