Pros: Nice sleek looks, quiet, cleans very well, easy to use, lots of features Cons: Average drying ability, slightly more difficult to install, many damaged in shipping
The LG 7811 in stainless steel first caught my eye with its sleek design. We were unsure about LGs track record and about how it would perform, but we bought it anyway based on its looks, a couple reviews about how quiet and advanced it was, and ...
Pros: Very attractive appearance; huge capacity; very quiet Cons: Cannot change cycle options once cycle starts; not totally silent.
I found this model to compete favorably against the likes of Bosch and Meile in terms of features and supposed quiet operation for the price. And my other LG appliance experiences have been largely positive. This dishwasher is extremely attractive in ...
Pros: Quiet, Easily configurable, longer cycle Cons: Long time to repair
I bought this product on recommendation from a friend who is an appliance repairman which I'll describe later, and I preferred its design: where the buttons are hidden, but there is still an indication on the front what the status of the unit is, and ...
Pros: Really quiet, Looks good, Easy to use, Uses very little detergent. Cons: Wish I had Googled "LG Sucks" before purchase! LG used to be Goldstar!
Bought LG Dishwasher LDF7811ST on 2/2/07 from Best Buy, Installed 2/7/07, Failed on 9/9/07 with error code: "Thermistor Trouble". I called LG toll free number, (1-800-243-0000). After about a ten minute hold, (9:00 P.M. EDT, Sunday night), got the number ...
Pros: Looks Good Cons: 15 words aren't enough to explain how bad LG products really are.
Let Me share what I wrote to LG the second time. I cannot convey how bad LG products truly are, and how frustrating it is to know in your SOUL, that you have flushed your hard earned money down the toilet: Dear LG, Please pass this to someone who ...
If only it worked as well as it looks. DO NOT BUY!!! by alyse414 ,Oct 22 '06
Pros: Great look, quiet operation. Cons: Difficult install. Doesn't clean the dishes.
We have had the 7811 for about a year now. The installation was the first indication that this unit would be a problem. The size, while measuring at the standard size, is larger than the typical dishwasher. This is due to its having a solid back from the floor to the top, with the water supply and discharge travelling through channels in the bottom. We had to breakout the plaster wall at the back of the unit and reroute a gas line to get it to fit.
Once installed, the main problem we've had is that it does a terrible job of cleaning the dishes. Plates stacked in the rack's slots end up with accumulations of debris on them. We have had to compensate by spacing things well apart, running a pre-rinse, and running the machine at it's longest and strongest settings - Over 3 hours for a load.
We had no previous experience with LG and based on this, we won't have another.
I'm thrilled with my LG LDF 7811SS by germangeorgian ,Mar 26 '07
Pros: QUIET! Cleaning ability and holds ALL of our dishes/bakeware. Cons: None.
We purchased and had installed this dishwasher last month, and I can't say enough GOOD things about it! Cleans dishes (even those baked on cookie sheets) with ease, the adjustable top shelf enables LARGE items to fit on the bottom rack, and QUIET, QUIET, QUIET! It actually is quieter than my Maytag fridge!
I've noticed that most of the complaints about non-working/broken upon delivery complaints were from Best Buy. We purchased ours from an appliance store (HHgregg) and it was delivered in MINT condition, installed quickly & easily and WORKS!
Worked great - for 2 months by wetdawg ,Jul 11 '07
Pros: Quiet
Cleans well Cons: Long cycle
high-breed drying system = wet dishes
This LG looks good and WAS quiet. Only lasted 2 months before it stopped running in mid cycle with "LE" Error. Local shop subbed out the warranty repair - repair main said he has seen this failure in many of the LG's - it is the main motor/pump that fails because of faulty magnets. I asked if the replacement motor was a new/improved version...he said no - it is the exactly the same.
Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing you have paid $900 for a defective product.
The LG is now about twice as loud as before the repair.
Pros: Cleans well, quite, easy installation, can wash upper or lower tray only for half load. Cons: none so far
Recently bought his dishwasher. Very happy. It runs very quite. Don't know why someone wrote it makes noise. Paid $600 for floor model including 10 year warranty from PC Richards.Using it for one month. Solid steel body so no problem with plastic wear/ tear. Many options to clean. Most important for half load you can use upper or lower tray only.
Pros: perfect cleaning, flexibility/adaptability, beautiful, quiet, easy to install. Cons: it is slow, drying agent container is messy to fill, and too small
We bought ours from cuttingedge and we were thrilled with the process. It came to our door in perfect condition. This dishwasher is amazing. We have six kids at home and we put this thing to work! It has performed flawlessly for two months now. The flexibility of this machine is wonderful. No matter the task it is ready. It cleans so well, we are impressed. Buy it! Very cool looking too.
Pros: I do not have a good word to say about this machine. Cons: Machine leaks, Motor goes bad, Does not stay quiet. Does not clean very well.
The LG dishwasher LDF7811ST does not clean very good. It stopped being quite about 6 months after purchase. It has flooded a few times and now we are told by Best Buys service department that it will be @ $ 350 to fix.
We've had the motor, hose and circuit board replaced on our LG dishwasher in the first year. LG Customer Service has been horrible, they will not replace a dishwasher unless it has three major repairs in the first year. So basically you'd have to blow through a couple of motors and a circuit board in order to get a replacement. We're still waiting on the circuit board to arrive and continuing to wash dishes in the sink. Good looking dishwasher but absolutely horrible service considering the price.
Buy through a good retailer cause they are your only hope for service.
On a more positive note we have a stackable LG washer and dryer and they are great.
Finally, a great dishwasher! by czaria ,May 15 '06
Pros: Whisper-quiet, beautiful, huge interior! Cons: None so far!
Best dishwasher I've ever had by far! So happy I got rid of my piece of junk Kitchen Aid (4 years old and paid almost $900; 3 service calls with the last quote $350 to repair). The LG is quiet, beautiful, and leaves everything spotless--just hope the durability is there!
