Pros: Great Quality, Fantastic Speed, Great Price! Cons: No Camera Memory card ports. Outside shell seems flimsy. PARER JAMS EASILY NOW!
Well I will start this review by explaining my title. I use to own a Lexmark Z11 and it was a piece of crap. Paper jams, changing ink carts for Black or Color and lines in the print no matter how you aligned the cartridge. Now this printer has very few ...
Pros: FAST. Makes cute sqeaky-mouse noises between prints. Cons: See review.
First of all... ENOUGH ALREADY with product names beginning with a lowercase "i". We've already run the gamut of "e" things... now it's "i" things. Next vowel is "o", folks. Get with it. Out of the box, setup was easy. Very easy. Both Windows 98 and ...
Pros: Fast, excellent print quality, individual inks, duplex, dual paper source Cons: Ink cartridges, while less expensive than Epson are still $$$
Wow. I was sick of paying $35 for the black ink for my Epson printer and my Canon i950 died (somehow black ink bleeds into the yellow in cartridge. I've had other canon printers (BJC-600) which never died, I replaced one because I wanted USB and ...
I just changed from an Epson 785epx(about 4-5 yrs old). I couldn't be much happier. This printer does seem a little cheap when it comes to the case, but I really don't plan on dropping it or moving it around. I tend to keep my printer right by my ...
Pros: Very capable and fast for not much money Cons: Duplex is slow (but fun to watch)
My old epson broke and on a Sunday afternoon I was at Fry's looking for a quick replacement. Found the iP4300 on sale $89, prints duplex, promises good photos, how could I lose? The printer far exceeds my lowered expectations. Printing ordinary stuff it ...
Pros: Right price, quiet, fast, clear manual, front/back printing, uses ink efficiently, ink cartridges inexpensive Cons: None that I can find!
After 10 years of Epsons, I finally got fed up. The ink is expensive and the printers break all too soon. Epson's "help" desk frequently does not know what it is talking about. I once was told their standard advice of "take it to the shop" when all I ...
Pros: Ease of setup, simple interface, USB connectivity, speed of printing basic black, additional driver features Cons: Color depth/quality (due to solid/water based ink), cost per page, USB cable not included
I received my Z816 for free ($80 Rebate) when I purchased my digital camera. At first, I was skeptical, "How good can a free printer be, anyway?" I already have a Lexmark 7200 InkJet from '97, and upon comparing them, the 7200 only had 1200 x 1200 dpi ...
Does not print postscript files correctly by rneubert ,Oct 27 '06
Pros: Don't matter to me Cons: DOES NOT SUPPORT POSTSCRIPT
I bought this printer hoping to find more reliability than from Epson, plus Canon promised "laser quality" text printing. Since I primarily use a color printer to print graphics and not photos, that sounded great. (By the way, the Canon Web site shows three $100 printers, and you can not tell from the information there what the different is between them!)
After installing the printer, which went without a hitch, I printed some Adobe Illustrator documents I was working on when my Epson died. It printed 2 of them fine, but in the third, some of the words did not print, and only parts of other words printed! I called tech support (and surprisingly got right through!) and after the tech researched the matter, he told me that the Canon inkjet printer drivers do not support Postscript! Dumb!
So, I am returning the printer immediately. I guess I'll have to stick to Epson, pay for their expensive ink, and replace the printer regularly. (BTW, I understand HP inkjets, at least some of them, do not support Postscript either! My HP laser printer handles Postscript files just fine, though.
Pros: Quality, functionality, value and design. Cons: None.
I was looking for a printer with great all round ability and functionality at a good price. After researching all printers it was clear the Canon had the FINE print head technology giving the finest quality print results. Even better was the ability to print on more media types including directly onto CD/DVD. Further research even indicated that the operating costs of the Canon printers were the best in the business.
From the moment I pulled this printer out of the box I new it was something special. The design was striking and I soon found that using the product was even more special. In using several other printers previously I will not look elsewhere again!
Pros: Simple easy setup, concise directions, quality parts, solid feel, solid look, Great Value Cons: Seems to take 45 seconds to get ready to print, then BAMM !! it's done...
If you buy this printer and cannot read the manual and follow instructions then I recommend you just go buy a Lexmark for Dummies. This printer is not designed for Refills, Scanning or Copying, as it just Prints and prints very well.
If you are having issues with this printer, maybe you need to call customer support as I find this printer to meet or exceed all my needs with perfect clarity and graphic printout beyond any competitor feature for feature.
For graphic design, this is it. For Photo Quality for the most discerning eye, this is it. For Value and low cost ink, this is it.
Pros: Small case, sturdy. Cons: Constantly wants to align, wastes paper when you cannot bypass this command.
I purchased an Z816 to replace a HP Desk Jet that had feeding problems. Every time I replace a cartridge in my Z816, it stops communicating. I have to work several days to get back to printing, just continually troubleshooting. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. I have even had the printer replaced, and replaced the USB cable. I think the problem is in the power cord, with the large adapter. I wish I could go back to parallel ports.
Don't make the mistake of purchasing one by raudaskoski ,Feb 17 '06
Pros: Cheap Cons: Just terrible. Slow, noisy, unreliable.
Driver and/or the "solution center" hangs constantly. Print jobs get stuck in the queue. Shows "info screens" in fake full screen mode, which makes full screen sensitive applications, like messengers go crazy. When (which happens quite often) they hang, you have to kill them from task manager.
Very, very slow. The actual printing happens at OK speed, but preparing to print takes forever (minutes).
Noisy. Fan, which does not stop even if you turn the printer off, keeps this high pitched, changing sound which drives you mad in minutes.
Pros: Good on ink Cons: no usb cable with it, must install drivers for MAC users
Over all I must say I am impressed with the printer.
Not stunning photos yet worthy enough to display :P
I would recommand this printer for someone who prints both photos and papers on it. As well seems to do very well on ink.
Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 100 by jayman0173 ,Feb 04 '05
Pros: This printer is a stand alone unit not requiring a hook up to a computer. Cons: It would be nice to have an LCD preview screen on the printer itself
This printer has really made all the difference to my digital photography,no longer are the photo's trapped in my computer. I can print off photos 6x4 for photo albums or to give away to family & friends. You can hook it up to your computer then do image manipulation and print the output on this printer.
Stay away from this piece of junk by suedonim ,May 27 '07
Pros: Considering cons, none! Cons: Won't print with ink low, usually wrong about ink status.
Oh sure, my iP4300 worked great out of the box. Couple months later, after less than 50 pages, I got a "low ink" message: at which point the printer refused to print at all. I contacted customer service and was given instructions on how to reset the printer. Simple enough, remove the cartridges and the print head, turn it off, unplug it for 30 seconds, then repeat in reverse order. You won't find instructions anywhere mentioning this or how to remove the print head (the CS rep called the print head the cartridge "holder"). There is a grey lever on the right side of the carriage that when lifted, unlocks the print head which can then be pulled out. Resetting the printer this way worked once. Another month went by and the problem came back and resetting won't help.
