Pros: I was able to return it Cons: Loud motor, litter everywhere
I hate cleaning the litter box. Doesn't everyone? So when I saw the advertisements for Litter Maid, I of course got very excited and sent away for it immediately. A self-cleaning litter box? It seemed so perfect. Or so I thought. Expensive, sure,...

Pros: A bit less hassle that conventional boxes when it comes to cleaning and emptying Cons: not worth what it costs, rake hangs up frequently, containers split and spill when changing them
I had wanted one of the Litter Maid boxes from the very first time I seen the commercial advertisement on television. At the time I was pregnant and wasn't supposed to be changing the litter box anyway, so this appeared to be the perfect solution....

Pros: Save cleaning time, cats get clean litter box Cons: Containers breaks easily and are expensive
Our cats are using their second Litter Maid. We bought the first one right after it was available on the market. At that time we only have one short hair cat. She took to it immediately without any problems. After two years, the cover of the compartment...

Pros: NONE WHATSOEVER! Cons: Hard to clean, smells, malfunctions, noisy
If you've seen the TV commercial, you've seen that the littermaid is a catbox with a motion sensor rake that brushes the poop into a receptacle a few minutes after kitty has done his business. What the commercial doesn't tell you is that the rake...

Pros: saves time & cat litter, reduces smell Cons: some scooping is still required, gets stuck, mine's broken already
As I have two wonderful cats in my small apartment, keeping the litter box fresh is a constant struggle. When I was given a Litter Maid litter box as a gift, I thought I had found the solution. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Just in case you're...

Pros: Great idea, when it works, cuts odors Cons: Price, had 2 of them jam and break
As the indentured servant of three full time neutered cats, it behooves me to provide them with a privy somewhat more enticing than the facilities unoffered by the southwest corner of my formal dining room. We've been through the proclivities of a fellow...

Pros: sanitary Cons: as much work as regular boxes
I was given the Litter Maid Self cleaning litter box with my cats. I thought that it was a wonderful idea at first. But after having it for a few days, I am thinking about going back to the normal "do-it-yourself" style.
I have the...

Pros: Self-cleaning, easy clean-up Cons: Gets full quickly, noisy, sometimes hard to clean
I hate cleaning the litter box. I absolutely hate it.
So it should come as no surprise that I opted to get one of these, and plunked down the money for this litter box for my two cats.
They go through some serious litter, let me...

Pros: none i can think of Cons: expensive; unable to scoop litter alone, much less waste; loud and scary
Yes, I am on the cutting edge of cat litter technology. I bought the LitterMaid--more accurately, requested it as a Christmas gift--when it was just out on the market, in 1998. At that time, it cost about $190, but I had big dreams of never scooping...

Pros: MAGNIFICENT FOR LAZY PEOPLE Cons: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
First, I will start off with some bad news. I had a TERRIBLE experience with Windmere Corporation's customer service level (the makers of the Litter Maid product.) Here is what happened:
I put in my order, direct through the...

Pros: good idea Cons: cheap, shoddy, snotty customer service reps.
When I moved in here a year ago, Tracy had one of these monstrosities sitting in the basement. His cat, Garfield, insisted on using it, despite the fact that it was not working. Okay, I can deal with that.
I asked Tracy how long he had it....

Pros: When it works for you, you won't let it go Cons: Loud, expensive, won't work for all cats
I am one of those horrible cat-mommies who would let the litter box sit for days and days on end, because that's how much I hate scooping. My poor boy got a very bad UTI due to my negligence. My veterinarian gave me a lecture and a recommendation:...

Pros: saves some time , if you scoop out litter box every day Cons: expensive, noisy, hard to use,It takes up a lot of room, and it still smells
When I first saw this litter box I thought it was the answer to my prayers. I hate scooping out the litter box. And my husband hates the smell of the litter box.
But I am a cat lover, so I have endured this nasty job for practically my...

Pros: The Littermaid,The best machine made for our cat's today Cons: not having one
Great product. I saw an advertisement on TV of the Littermaid and thinking how nice it would be to not have to clean the litter box after my cats had done there we's and do's.
I have a 13 year old female cat name Misty and she is a clean...

Pros: New quieter motor, improved tray design. Cons: Still need gloves for tricky tray removal.
Oh the Pain! The Pain of changing the cat litter. In my house this had become a full-scale battle. Exactly "how" long can the members of the family "pretend" that they don't notice how full the cat box is getting?
I...
