Logitech Wireless Headphones for iPod: An Albatross around Your Neck?

by Ed.Williamson Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, May 13 '06
Pros: Great sound wirelessly at an affordable price.
Cons: Possible headband breakage and possible hardware incompatibility problems.
Not long ago I was sitting in a doctor’s office, visiting with him, when I noticed an iPod on his desk. We shared our mutual love for the iPod, and then he told me, “But you ought to try it with Logitech’s wireless headphones. They’re ...

Round and round she goes, when she cracks...?

by antjenkins , Feb 03 '06
Pros: WIRELESS! Works with A2DP bluetooth devices, good battery life, sounds great! Did I mention WIRELESS!
Cons: Yet another charger to keep track of, uncomfortable fit, HEADBAND PRONE TO CRACKING.
The History Lesson I've got to tell you. The bane of my gadget existence is and always has been wires. I've dropped my mp3 player and/or ripped the headphones or earbuds from my head more times than I can count because of a tangled or caught ...

Logitech Wireless Bluetooth headphones - Not Yet!

by bhauser , Oct 22 '05
Pros: Great quality of sound, quick connect time, reaches about 60 ft from transceiver.
Cons: poor quality of the plastic mold process, very heavy speakers, volume control poor.
Bought a refurbished set from the Apple store because it was $30 off. I got home and found a small split in the plastic that goes around the back of the headset. Returned them and got a new set. After about 8-9 times of using them (5-7 hour hours of ...

Great idea for Ipod, not so great quality

by ntwelch , Jun 28 '06
Pros: no wires, good distance, Pause, Play, FF, RW, Vol UP, & Vol DOWN on headset
Cons: manufacturer design flaw, 2 pair - each broke within 3 months, heavy, expensive
I love the idea of no wires and the sound quality of these headphones is excellent. Pause, Play, FF, RW, Vol UP, & Vol DOWN on the headset is excellent. I can walk quite a distance from my ipod before the quality starts to break down. That said, the ...

Needs some improvement

by wakebdr , Jan 25 '06
Pros: Bluetooth works well Sound quality seems to be good
Cons: Isn't comfortable to wear Big, heavy, and bulky Can't put ipod in case
I've had this for exactly one day, and I'm already almost disappointed that I bought it. Despite the bad reviews I read, I decided to give it a try. The bluetooth portion works great, but the design leaves a lot to be desired. I have a fairly small ...

flawed both in product and service
by simonjames ,Jun 21 '06
Pros: love the idea of wireless headphones - good sound
Cons: sold a product that was known to break - very poor customer service
I love the idea of wireless headphones with my iPod. I hate the earbuds supplied with the iPod and the idea of headphones with no wires attached seemed fantastic. I powerwalk with my iPod in a pocket love being able to change songs and volume without touching the iPod

unfortunately the idea is not exercised in the reality of Logitech's headphones

I look after my belongings - I have a pair of 10 year-old Sony wrap-around headphones still going strong and looking like the day I bought them.

Of course the Logitech headphones broke after 4 months use due to the design/manufacturing flaw. Logitech Australia didn't want to know me - they washed their hands of the situation even though they knew about the design flaw. The whole warranty process was a nightmare. 5 weeks and many phone calls later I realised the only way forward was to threaten going to the press - a new set of headphones arrived 2 days later.

Why did Logitech sell a product with a known flaw?

Breakage
by rglick64 ,Apr 10 '06
Pros: No wire = terrific
Cons: Physically fragile
I agree with other reviews. I've had these for about 2 months, and I'm already on my 2nd pair (the first ones cracked in the middle of the headpiece). I will say that I didn't have any difficulty getting a replacement headset from Logitech.

The sound is OK (there's not enough treble for my tastes, but that's a very personal thing). It is a joy to commute on the NYC subway with my iPod in my briefcase, and no wire coming out of the headphones. The Bluetooth does drop occasionally. I've also found there are certain spots in my neighborhood which seem to have a great deal of interference.

Wireless, in itself is amazing.
by fletchica ,Dec 30 '05
Pros: - Wireless transmit quality - Sound quality - Earpiece controls - Earphone style
Cons: - cost - earphones heavy - earpieces bulky - Iskin non-compatibility
The Bottom line: this was a gift of debonair luxury that I thoroughly appreciate; I completely hate to untangle wires.

PROS:

- Wireless transmit is crystal clear.
- Sound quality is nice and loud.
- The controls located right on the ear-piece are awesome.
- I prefer the "outside-the-ear" headphones, so I like this model because of this feature. I have a small head, and these still stay on fine.

CONS:

- cost...$150 is pretty pricey for earphones!
- earphones are a little heavy...I don't recommend them for active movement, but riding the bus\subway\train and walking around the city is totally fine.
- the earpieces are kinda bulky and don't look very fashionable...too bad they don't come in black.
- I had to "trim" my "Iskin" case at the top because the transmitter wasn't making a reliable connection...the rubber was getting in the way...no big to me though.

Logitech Bluetooth - Touchdown
by andres57 ,Dec 17 '05
Pros: No cables attached is priceless, 30' range, controls on headset.
Cons: Not good for moving around.Delicate, need special care not to break.
I bought these for US$112, true they are a bit heavy on the ears, but that becomes a burden if you do any kind of physical activity with them on, the weight is not well balanced. I bought them to use at the beach, sitting, reading a good book. As my main sport I do cycling, I don't use them while training.

I've read other reviews that say that the plastic at the back cracks, it hasn't happened to me so far. Maybe it is because when I slip them on I do it from the neck upwards so I don't pull them open so much, and when I take them of I pull them from the back instead of opening and pushing them over my head. The thing is to avoid opening them.

Bottom line, great if you use them during an inactivity period. If you use them while moving around you'll hate them.
