Pros: Tasty, nutritious snack Cons: Difficult to find in my area
I am a picky eater. There are very few healthy products that I have tried and enjoyed. I feel like I desperately need to change my diet some for the health benefits and weight loss. I'd tried some samples of other nutrition bars like Powerbar and...
Pros: delicious, low fat, low cal, nutrient fortified Cons: none- Luna bars are awesome
Luna bars are pure goodness. Ok, they're processed foods, which in and of itself is not always a great thing. But they have excellent taste and texture and are full of nutrients. Plus, its a guilt free food. With Luna bars, you can snack on a chocolate...
Pros: They taste really good Cons: They taste so good that you want to eat more!
For a "health" bar...these taste suspiciously good. Based on a glowing review from a friend, I bit the bullet and ordered a box of Luna Bars from Webvan. Having seen them on the shelves and heard the radio commercials, I admit, I was curious....
Pros: Healthy, yummy, portable Cons: Might have too many carbs for some
My very first Luna bar was given to me by my boyfriend after he picked my up from a test. Knowing my hypoglycemia (and then tendency to skip breakfast) he brought me the Peanut Butter Cookie Luna bar. I was skeptical, as my the only other protein bar I ...
Pros: Terrific flavors, good value. Cons: My favorites get sold out first!
When the women in my office had a "challenge" to see who could loose the most weight, and how it was done, there was a LOT of experimenting with the products available. Nutritional bars wound up in almost every diet, and so there was a wide...
Pros: Variety, low cost. Cons: If allergies to dairy, be careful.
I buy a lot of these types of energy bars. Cliff makes a wide range of them and the low-fat high fiber makes them my favorite. The lemon Luna bar offers a unique taste and a welcomed change. Luna bars are not too grainy nor are they overly filling. I...
Pros: Tastes good, good nutritional value, convenient, product made for women, supports The Breast Cancer Fund Cons: Pricey
If you've read my other opinion, you'll notice that I highly rated the ProMax bar. Well, while I still stand by that opinion, I have to say that the Luna Bar has clearly and definitely knocked the ProMax bar out of 1st place.
Pros: tasty, affordable, high in protein, wheat and dairy free Cons: not for those low-carb dieters...over 20 carbs per bar
As my latest box of Luna Bars arrived yesterday via ENutrition.com, this time in Nutz Over Chocolate flavor, I felt particularly inspired to write a review on this FABULOUS protein bar.
The Clif Luna Bars are available in seven different...
Pros: Healthy and tastes good. Cons: You can't eat just one. Slightly on the processed side.
For all those people who said that Luna bars tasted awful, they obviously do not eat anything remotely healthy. Luna Bars are the most addicting, wonderfully flavored nutritional bar you have ever tasted. They come in a variety of flavors, such as,...
Pros: Everything Cons: Sometimes they are almost $ 2 each
I've always been a fan of Cliff bars. As a meticulous label reader I find their ingredients to be up to my standards and the taste can't be beat. So when I tried Luna bars I was hooked. Why you ask......
Pros: Delicious, great texture, good calorie/fat ratio, great vitamin content Cons: Could be a tad bigger...
Ahhhh Luna Bars....my latest love affair. So great is my affinity for this sports nutrition bar that I am not letting the fact that one recently stuck to a temporary dental cap in my mouth (causing it to come out...and me to swallow it) get in the way of...
Pros: YYYYYUUUUUMMMMMMMYYYYY Cons: A little pricey (where I live!)
Trying to cut back on dairy, sugar, and drop some post-baby weight has led me to the Luna Bars. Since I had tried Clif Bars before, and was not impressed, I wasn't sure how these were going to be. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! They are very tasty...
Pros: Tastes good, reasonable price, nutritious, filling, good flavors Cons: A little heavy on the stomach
The Luna Bar package says that it's only for women, and while it does have nutrients that women need, I recommend it for everyone. It tastes great and it comes in a variety of flavors -- my favorite is Chai, but I also like S'mores, Lemon Zest and...
This is one of my favorite nutrition bars on the market (and I've had a lot of them), which I happened to find by chance while housesitting for a neighbor.
One of the reasons why I eat nutrition bars is to help curb my candy bar habit. But,...
Pros: Naturally sweetened, light, relatively low calorie, taste fabulous! Cons: Marketed "for women" which may scare off men
Introduction
This is part of my ongoing analysis of the protein/energy bars out on the market. As part of my attempt to maintain my “girlish figure” (GRIN). I workout 3-5 times a week, and try to eat in a relatively healthy manner....
I was given my first Luna bar by my anorexic sister (littleiodine). Believe it or not a person starving themselves usually knows all the best foods since they spend their lives avoiding them. These bars were so good she had to get them out of her house...
Pros: Yum! Taste is good, healthy. Good snack food. Cons: I'm addicted to them. They're too good.
As I write this, I am polishing of my third Luna Bar for the day. Yum! These things are addicting and very good. The bar that I am a fan of (the only one I’ve actually tried) is the Lemonzest kind. I’ve read epinions about this product and our...
I am going to have to admit something here that I thought would never happen to me. I bought this product to write a review on because of all the reviews I had seen come through Epinions about the Cliff Luna Bar.
Pros: Great Tasting
Energy Booster Cons: The price can be beat.
I am a year round wreslter and luna bars made my energy level skyrocket. These take energy/nutrition bars to the max. Power bars give you needed supplements but these give you everything. I found these at the gym while looking for a bar to replace the...
I've tried lots of different bars, both as meal replacements and snacks. These definitely taste the best and curb my hunger the longest, especially when eaten with a glass of water. They are pretty chewy, but don't have an aftertaste and the chocolate...
I am not a dieter, by any means. I also don't think that it is in the best interest of anyone's health to use "meal replacements" as an actual meal. That being said, I love Luna bars! I wake up for work at about 4:30 A.M., and I eat...
I have been eating Clif Bars for many years for their quality, nutrition, energy, and taste. When I first learned that they started making Luna Bar's, a nutrition bar for women, I flew right over to the health food store.
I am always in search of new and delicious energy bars to fuel my work outs. I used to buy a lot of Cliff Bars. I occasionally buy them, but now I buy Luna Bars more, because they taste even better. What first drew me to Luna Bars, was that they are...
Pros: Nutrition, Taste Cons: Can't find all the flavors, expensive
I recently discovered the Luna Bar. I was looking for something that would hold me over, (which means protein) contains soy (good for us baby boomers) was not filled with fiber, and tasted good. Lucky for me, I discovered the Luna Bar.
Not only do these bars taste great but are good for you. How many foods today can you say that about. You feel good after your eat one of the bars, and full of energy not weighed down like the way you feel when you eat a candy bar. These bars come in 5-10...
my favorite one is the new flavor, cherry covered chocolate. I've tried many power bars and I didn't like the taste. Some brands even made my stomach sick.
This flavor has 2 grams of fiber and 1gram of insoluble fiber so I feel less guilty(fiber...
Pros: delicious, healthy, money donated to breast cancer research with each purchase Cons: addictive
That Luna bars are healthy is a side benefit of this great product. Delicious and now available in eight flavors, Luna bars are the best tasting sports bar I've found. They look like real food, have a pleasant texture (think chewy granola bars) and...
Pros: Nutritious, Delicious and Satisfying Cons: Pricey, Marketed to Women Only
I love food. I love to cook. I don't have a heck of a lot of time for either. Especially first thing in the morning. I'd been practically living on PRBars and Genisoy Bars for months! But I was very concerned about their nutrition content (or lack...
Pros: Full of vitamins and nutrients, but tastes delicious. Cons: Cost
**My Journey to the “Land of Luna”:
We all know how difficult it can be to eat healthy while constantly on the go. As a busy high school sophomore I wake up at 6 a.m. with barely enough time to throw on my uniform, run a brush through my hair,...
After reading a number of positive reviews about Luna Bars here at Epinions, I decided I had to try them. I had a difficult time finding them at local stores, but was able to find a few flavors at Jewel/Osco and a few more at Fruitful...
I travel a ton and don't always know when and where my next meal will be. I used to have heavy and long business lunches with my colleagues, or even worse, stop for greasy fast food. Now I carry a Luna bar with me and can eat healthy whenever I want....
I first tried The Clif Luna Bar (Lemon Zest flavor) when I was doing a 10-mile charity walk. They were handed out free to the walkers. In general, I am not too enamored of energy bars, and I was...
I can describe these bars in one word. Yummy! I have yet to have one that I do not like. I enjoy them once they are in the freezer for alittle while. I take one to the gym with me and sometimes eat them as a dessert. They are wonderful. How can...
Pros: Great taste for being a nutrition bar, minerals and vitamins designed for women. Cons: A little expensive, but worth it.
I have tasted many "health bars", and had basically given up on them until I tasted a Luna Bar. A friend of mine told me that they were not like other bars.
Luna Bars come in several different flavors for the tastes of many people. The taste...
Pros: Yummy flavors; natural ingredients; now with less sugar and more fiber Cons: Perhaps a little too indulgent for every day snacking (alas)
When I was pregnant with my daughter now a little over four years ago, one of my favorite nutritional snacks was the Luna Bar, which calls itself "The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women." I first found out about Luna Bars from another friend who was ...
Pros: It tastes so good you feel like you might be getting in trouble! Cons: I DO NOT like any of the other flavors!
As a college student with a demanding major I often find my self running on little sleep and lots of coffee. I know it’s not the best, but we’ve all done it. I have long been a fan of nutrition bars like Power Bars, but not a big fan of the taste. Yet...
Pros: Tastes great, lower in calories than most energy bars, wide variety of flavors Cons: Some flavors can melt easily in the heat
Although I am a female, I am usually turned off by products that are "geared" towards or "especially made" for a female. Sure, females have different nutritional needs, but I doubt that my body is really going to know the difference...
Pros: Delicious, nutritious and nearly Zone perfect Cons: a little pricey, but not in comparison to other bars
I have been an avid Zone dieter for about two years now. Since then, I have been in search of great tasting nutrition bars that fit with the Zone eating plan. Luna bars for women are perfect for that. Sometimes I have to eat an olive or two to make up...
Pros: It actually tastes good! Cons: It could have been 1/3 bigger
Well, I took loves2run’s advice and bought a Luna Lemonzest Bar by Clif before my recent trip to Minneapolis. Boy was I glad I did! Out of the five bars I bought, this was by far the best! And if you can believe this...I might even buy more. Oh my gos ...
I try to eat healthy. I try to feed my family healthy. Unfortunately, trying to keep four kids healthy and happy, I don't always take the time each day to make sure I am receiving all the vitamins/nutrients I should. Any parent with small children...
Pros: energizing, convenient, tastes good! Cons: expensive - buy them in bulk on sale!

Pros: They are tasty and lower in calories than some of the other bars Cons: None
These bars are tasty. They are also good for you with the vitamins and minerals, plus soy. These are definitely right for anyone wanting a good nutritious snack.
I am a runner (not fast, but fairly consistent) and I lift weights. I leave...
I have tried lots of protein bars and I will say that Luna is rated very high by me! The Luna bars are great! I can't eat them now that I'm doing the Atkins diet because they have carbs in them, but they are absolutely delicious!
Pros: great flavor choices, satisfies hunger, easy to keep handy Cons: hard to find locally at a good price
One month, I saw an ad for Luna Bars in each of the magazines that I usually read. I was looking for a nutrition bar with GREAT TASTE that I would enjoy for breakfast (usually a rushed meal), or an afternoon snack. I found it!
Pros: best tasting bar out there! filling, nutritious, wonderful stuff Cons: could get a bit pricey
Luna bars have become my lunch of choice. I happen to know for a fact you can survive perfectly well on just Luna bars for three or four days, and though most of the time I eat a rather wider variety of food, I didn't even feel deprived for those few...
Pros: Great tasting, HEALTHY INGREDIENTS Cons: Not for all day training sessions

Pros: No High Fructose Syrup, Wheat and Dairy Free, great tasting Cons: none
Okay,I am going to join the foray of opinions on nutrition bars. I found Luna Bars a couple of months ago, believe it or not, in my local Grand Union. And, well, I fell in LOVE.
My husband and I (and now our little one too) travel a lot to...
Pros: Taste, high in protein, low in fat Cons: Says it is for women
I would like to start out by saying that I am a male. Yes a male eating a Luna Bar. I know I read the packaged it says for women. Do any of you know why it says for women?
Perhaps the main reason that Cliff Bar decided to say it is designed...
Pros: Great tasting, enjoyable, full of soy, vitamins, minerals Cons: Quite a few carbs.
I am a forty-four year old woman, creeping closer by the day to fifty, menopause, and hormonal upheaval. Once a month for a day or two, I am ashamed to admit I hold my family hostage with the fits and bad spells that take over me as PMS settles in,...
Pros: Appealing taste, more nutritious than a candy bar Cons: Price, chocolate melts in hot weather
I was introduced to carbo boosts when I was dating a tri-athlete and was working for the USPS as a part-time letter carrier. I was frequently running out of energy during the day and needed something to keep me going. He turned me on to a few of what...
Luna Bars taste great. The healthy part is covered in chocolate-or some other flavor, but the whole bar is still only about 180 calories. I personally recommend the chocolate ones-there are a few different varieties. The lemon and chai tea ones come...
Pros: Quick meal on the go, good tasting Cons: none
Luna is one of the best tasting bars I have tried. I have consumed several brands of meal replacement and energy bars that had a less than pleasant taste. I was surprised to find these bars had good texture, as well as taste. I found that they were...
Pros: good taste, healthy, fills you up, low in fat Cons: high in carbs
I originally discovered the Luna Bar when I worked at the Triathlon Training Center here in Florida. We would have reps come by to speak with our Physiologists and center manager almost every day. Along with another girl that worked the front...
Pros: You can't beat the bar that is perfect for women and tastes great too. Cons: Certain flavors may not please everyone.
I have eaten Luna Bars for months and have always enjoyed the Clif brand. My friend, who is a man, turned me on to these and ever since I can't go into the grocery store without picking up atleast one for myself and one for my finance (he loves them...
no, I think not. Luna bars have been my favorite snack since last fall when I first saw them at my school's bookstore. I never really ate energy bars, aside from a very rare powerbar (nasty in comparison) when I hadn't had time to eat breakfast, before I...
Oh man, these bars are the best! They taste like candy bars but they are actually good for you! I started eating these quite a while ago (9 months maybe) and have only increased the amount I eat. I have one for breakfast and usually another one an hour...
Pros: One of the few "meal-in-a-bars" that is moist, satisfying and healthy Cons: Rather small for the price.
I really like these bars. They're great to keep in a desk drawer or a purse when you're running crazy. Of all the bars that are considered equivalent to a meal in calories and such, these are just about the only ones that I would consider satisfying,...
Pros: Moist, chewy great flavors Cons: Chocolate melts and gets messy
When I began training to walk my first marathon last year, I tried several different energy/nutrition bars, but nothing even came close to the Luna Bars by Clif. Being a "chocolate" person, I picked up two of the chocolate flavors, Nuts Over...
I was introduced to the Luna Bar (and her brother, the Cliff Bar) by my best friend when I was visiting her in Colorado. We were on our way to a day hike and stopped to get some "energy food". I wasn't too familiar with any of the nutritional...
Being of the frame-of-mind that "healthy" is another way to say "blech," I was quite reluctant to try Luna bars when a friend offered one to me. Hesitantly, I unwrapped "the whole nutrition bar," and much to my surprise LOVED it! Not only was it tasty,...
Well, I’ve been munching on my Luna bars for a couple of weeks now. Who’d have thought that a bar with such a silly name could come so close to perfection?
I know—perfection is a strong word. But I stand by the term---Luna...

Pros: filling, tasty, healthy, wheat & dairy free, excellent cause Cons: a bit pricey when not on sale
Being a busy mom, wife, woman, I'm always on the go. So, I'm always interested in finding healthy bars which could be used in place of - or until I have the time to make - a healthy meal. The biggest problem I've encountered is that so many of the...
Pros: Handy, Healthy, Tasty snack Cons: A little pricey
Luna Bar let me sing thy praises! MMMMM....Luna Bars, a soy-liscious bit of healthy heaven.

Yes, that’s right a man by the name of Gary Erickson invented the LUNA bar in his mother’s kitchen in 1990. Shocking when you consider that LUNA claims to be The Whole Nutrition Bar For Women. I guess you could say that Gary is in...
Pros: TASTE, quick energy, I guess they are good for women? Cons: Messy, sort of small.
There are three aspects to the luna bar, taste, purpose and practicality. Lets look at the purpose, or the whole idea first. The concept of Womens specific nutrition is sort of a crock. Not to say that women don't have a different biology or different...
I was first exposed to Luna Bars by a vegan friend of mine. She hardly ate anything, but when her loving mommy shipped her a box of Luna Bars while she was at school, she would devour them in seconds flat. The fact that she is the WORLD'S PICKIEST...
This is a wonderful snack! It's taste is far better than that of any other nutrition bar that I've tasted. I am completely impressed by the way that they've managed to keep flavor inside without sacrificing health.
Pros: Better-tasting than most other bars-- sweet and flavorful Cons: If you really want to diet, eat broccoli instead
As a vegetarian, getting enough protein in my diet is important to me-- and Luna bars are a great-tasting way to do it! I've tried the gamut of sports nutrition bars-- from the sickening Dr. Soy to the decent, but flavor-poor Cliff Bars-- and these are...
Pros: Taste, Texture, Vitamin and Mineral Content Cons: Price
As promised, here is my review of the Luna Bar made by the Clif company. I am 24 years old, and I take supplement bars almost every day because of an illness I am currently suffering from. I usually take the same bar every day...
Pros: great taste, nutritionally geared towards womens needs, fairly inexpensive, great snack or light meal replacement Cons: not very filling
Like a lot of women, I've tried numerous diet products. Pills, shakes, exercise equipment- you name it. And I've tried all of these things with the intent of changing my body for the better. I've all but given up on losing those last stubborn pounds...
Pros: Very tasty, nice nutritional profile Cons: Grainy aftertaste, price
Luna bars are quite tasty! I have tried the Toasted Nut & Cranberry and the Pecan Pie varieties. The Pecan Pie was especially delicious - much more like a dessert food than a nutrition bar. I thought the Nut/Cranberry one was very tasty, kind of...
Pros: delicious, healthy snacks! - I love the chocolate flavors... Cons: expensive, Tropical Crisp is too sweet
Since joining Epinions, I have found lots of good advice about what products to buy and what to avoid. Through reading a few positive reviews of Luna Bars, I decided to try them out. I'll join the chorus singing the praises of these nutritious...
I was hesitant to try the "Lemon Zest" Luna Bars because I thought they really could not be very good. Actually, they were delicious. I would even compare them to Pepperidge Farm
lemon cookies. I am on Weight Watcher's and the points for the...
Pros: great pre-exercise energy source Cons: some aftertaste with certain varieties
Selecting the best form of pre-exercise nutrition can be a bit tricky. Consider that one must balance the somewhat contrasting needs for energy and for a non-active digestive tract. Obviously, one doesn't want to indulge in a 5-course meal before...
Pros: Tastes good (for a nutrition bar), supports a great charity, and is fortified with calcium! Cons: A little on the expensive side.
You are talking to a converted soul here. I was one of those people who HATED the thought of trying to digest a nutrition bar. Back in the early days of nutrition bars, when I was in a track club, my coach forced them on us when we were in training....
These are yummy little treats disguised as energy bars. For some reason they market these towards women, which hey I guess that's cool and all but what about me? I like a little bit of flavor to my energy bars! I'm usually munching on my...
Pros: Tastes Good and is vitamin packed Cons: For women
Well even though i am not a woman i ate this bar and liked it. It doesn't seem to matter if you are a male or female and eating this bar. It has more content in vitamins that are directed to women but a man can eat it too. The bar is kind of expensive...
Pros: Decent taste, Packed with Vitamins and Minerals Cons: Flavor could be better
Being the picky eater that I am, I don't get nearly enough of the recommended amount of vitamins, minerals, and protein. Being the athlete and growing person that I am, that's a bad thing.
Pros: tasty and quite satisfying, lots of nutrition in a small package Cons: expensive
What exactly is a Luna Bar?
Luna Bars, from the makers of Cliff bars, are a sport nutrition food product. They resemble a granola bar in appearance, and according to the label are tailored to the nutritional needs of women.
...
Pros: folic acid, taste good, specialized for women, less calories than "guy bars" Cons: spendy
I had never heard about Luna bars until I read about them on Epinions. I found them easily at my local WinCo. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I'm sure it was about the going rate.
Pros: good, good for you; portable, convenient; stores easily Cons: somewhat pricey; some flavors are better than others
Luna bars were recommended to me by a friend who is athletic, energetic and healthy-eating. I, on the other hand, am extremely non-athletic, proudly sluggish and an indiscriminate eater. What would I want with a health bar when there is so much other...
Pros: quick pick me up, healthy, actually tastes good Cons: rather expensive
I am not the healthiest of people out there. I do not always eat the foods I should so I need an extra little pick me up every now and again to help keep me going. I had heard a lot about the luna bars and decided that I would give them a try. I had...
Pros: nutrient-dense, and tasty too Cons: some varieties melt, expensive
Luna Bars are my favorite nutrition bar. I generally try to eat "real" foods, but when I'm on the go and that just isn't happening, I reach for a Luna.
Luna bars are marketed towards woman, for several reasons but mainly, I think,...
Pros: nutritious, reminds me of a candy bar Cons: a bit dry, expensive
After reading a few epinions about the Luna bar, I wanted to give it a try. So off to my local health food store I went in search of the Luna bar. I found them in the protein bar isle for $1.59 each. There were several flavors to choose from. I...
Pros: lemon - very tasty Cons: not substantial for pre-workout energy snack
Only tried the lemon-flavoured bar. I found it to be very flavourful and tasty, yet not sufficiently substantial as my pre-workout energy snack (see note below about my workout level). Based on flavour, I would highly recommend the bar as a sensible...
Pros: Moist and tasty! Great for on-the-go eating. Cons: If you're allergic to peanuts, you can't eat them!
After reading workingmomof2’s wonderful review on Luna Bars, I decided I had to try them! I bought one of each of the eight flavors, and here’s my taste test results....
Pros: Better for you than a regular candy bar. Best energy bar I've ever tasted Cons: Expensive. Be careful if you have allergies. Some flavors though good, are not well named.
Luna bars are made by the same company that makes Clif bars, but Luna is specifically geared towards women. They contain about 180 calories, soy protein, vitamins, minerals, and calcium. I normally don’t go for energy bars since most of them have as much...
Pros: Good variety of flavors Cons: Get VERY hard when cold
I'm a health reporter so I get a lot of "samples" in the mail. Soy flakes, caffeinated water, BBQ flax seeds, you get the picture -- some food ideas should never make it to market. And when I got a sampler box of these new Clif bars for women I...
Pros: Good taste & texture, extra calcium, iron & folic acid Cons: Misleading flavor names, some flavors too sweet
Tasty, crispy, nutrient-packed Clif Luna Bars are formulated for, and marketed towards, women. Being one of those, I'm grateful for a little extra calcium and iron, but I've noticed that some men seem to fear Luna Bars--and I think that's an injustice...
Pros: Taste delicious..part of proceeds go to breast cancer research Cons: They STILL aren't my S1's
As I was going through Epinions, looking for something to write on, I got to thinking. I had written on virtually every health bar that I have tried, except for two. One of those being, Luna.
Pros: Tasty, filling, good texture, nutritious Cons: Expensive, some flavors not as good
As a collegiate soccer player, when I need energy, I need something substantial. I've tried Power bars before, but found them very dense and often bland. I first tried a Luna bar after my mother sent me a care package to make sure I was eating...
Pros: Satisfying taste, good nutritional content Cons: Sugar too high for those with blood sugar problems (common problem)
Luna Bars, while originally designed and marketed to female athletes, are suitable for all active people who need a quick, tasty energy boost. Proceeds from Luna Bar sales also fund breast cancer research. Luna Bars were created by women from the...
Pros: Good satisfaction factor, decent flavor, great nutrition. Cons: Flavors may not be what you expect
In my continuing search for the perfect unbreakfast bar (see my 151 Bar review- I'm trying to locate the perfect breakfast substitute) I was lucky enough to find Luna Bars early on. Being female, I consider soy protein a real plus for surviving...
Pros: Tasty flavors, lots of protein, good karma. Cons: Kind of expensive, not *that* yummy.
When it comes to protein bars, Im pretty discriminating not because Im so outdoorsy or fitness-minded, but just the opposite. Because I eat them primarily as mini-meals to stave off hunger at the office, they have to be filling, fairly ...
Pros: taste, nutritional value, donates money to the Breast Cancer Fund Cons: silly marketing campaign, very low energy boost
As I was standing there in the grocery store reading the label on this fancy Luna Bar package, I was busy trying to figure out what the difference was between a sports nutrition bar for the human race and a sports nutrition bar designed specifically for...
Pros: Lots of beneficial vitamins for women Cons: Super Sweet
And to me that is not a good thing. I was surprised to see all the rave reviews for these bars, so it may just be the flavor I tried -- S'mores. Similar to a hardened rice krispy treat with a strong flavor of overly sweet brown rice syrup. Since I'm a...
Pros: Basically a good nutrition bar. No excessive amount of sugars. Cons: S'mores are extra cruncy, so take care when biting into these.
I was in our local health food store today, and spotted these nutrition bars. The fact that they are another product by Clif I grabbed a couple of the LUNA bars as I was curious to try them. I remember enjoying the Clif bars, and had given them...
Pros: some of the bars are pretty good; a good company; nutritional value Cons: 'Tropical Crisp' shouldn't even be served on Death Row
After the wonderful comments people left on my review of (easy, stomach) Clif Bars, I began to cast around for another sort of energy bar to try. I'd tried Kashi bars and Power Bars, but I wanted to do a review of something I wasn't ...
Pros: Filled me up. Cons: A little dry and hard to swallow for me.
I recently subscribed to SHAPE magazine. I love to keep fit and exercise regularly. I may be 52 years old but plan to stay trim. I have my home gym, heated pool and hot tub. My husband and I love to ride our bikes and walk to.
Pros: Healthy, with essential vitamins and minerals, energy boosting Cons: When you can taste the vitamins, some find that taste refreshing (like slim-fast)
I first tried Luna Bars at the MS Walk, honestly at that point I could tell why they were donated to the plethera of health-food gracing the snack stand. Fitting the bill of every other thing that is "good for you", Luna Bars taste was not exactly what...
Pros: Reasonably priced, nutritious Cons: Not very edible, at least for enjoyment
The nutritional bar line touted for women is the Luna. While these bars come in many flavors, eight in all, don't let those delicious sounding names fool you! While the Luna bars may be nutritious, packed with 23 vitamins &...
Pros: Better than others of its ilk Cons: Not as good as a candy bar
"Those look interesting" my wife said to me as we stood in line at our local Health food store. "Those" were the row of Clif Luna Bars in the stand next to the register.
Pros: The taste is alright Cons: Texture, texture, texture
I have had two luna bars, one being lemon and the other being so unremarkable I don't remember the flavor. I've had these recommended to me, and am always on the search for a new energy bar.
The flavor of the bars were ok, but if you're like...
Pros: Has vitamins that are good for you. Cons: Tough, dense texture is hard to chew. Lack of flavor. Soy isn't tasty.
I read about Luna bars on the internet on some health food message boards and heard people raving about them. I believed what I read, and assumed that Luna bars were a wonderful healthful gift to women. So I ordered a box of 15 directly off the internet....
Pros: its designed for women, and it has vitamins and minerals Cons: tastes BAD
full of simple sugars
I get suspicious whenever something is marketed at a specific group, and Luna bars are marketed at ME!
If you know anything about nutrition, you would put the bar down and eat some real food, because this thing is not a good substitute. The fact...
Pros: Great tasting. Loaded with nutrients to optimize women's health. Cons: Contains large amounts of rice products. Suspect all the nutrients go to waste.
Who should try Luna?
LUNA nutritional bars are made by Clif Bar Inc. These bars are marketed as “the whole nutrition bar for women”. LUNA bars are made of all natural ingredients and fortified with vitamins and minerals. I might recommend...
Pros: Maybe it's healthy Cons: But it doesn't taste good!
On my quest to find a fairly nutritious snack that tastes good, my taste buds are stumbling over several things that have left them protesting loudly. The second energy/nutrition bar I am reviewing is Clif Luna S'Mores.
Pros: Has lots of essential vitamins and minerals Cons: Tastes remarkably like sawdust
Okay, let me start off by saying that when I had occasion to eat a Luna bar last week, I wasn't aware that it was designed specifically for women. In fact, I didn't find that out until just now, when I looked the Luna bar up on Epinions to write...
Pros: high energy -raises your blood sugar Cons: taste, can ruin your day, soy blocks mineral absorption...
I used to love Luna bars, so many of their delicious flavors like Sweet Dreams, Chai Tea, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Toasted Nuts n Cranberries I even gave them five stars in my review like many other reviewers have done. Ive deleted ...
Yummy and easy for on the run. by shytown77 ,Jul 12 '04
Pros: Flavors, Price, healthy on the go treat Cons: Not one
This little bar is a great addition to my on the go morning meals. Taste and texture remind me of normal food and not a 6th grade science experiment. I find the best price for Luna is at Trader Joe's at a $1.29, try the Chocolate Peppermint Stick!
Pros: They taste great and are good for you! & generally inexpensive. Cons: I wish they sold variety boxes rather than one flavor in a bulk box.
I usually hate the taste of energy or meal replacement bars but every single one that I've tried, I love! My favorite is the Smores! I eat one almost every day as my meal for breakfast. It provides me with energy for the day and nutrients that are important as a female. Also, because I've started eating breakfast on a regular basis with these bars, I've lost weight. I've always heard that breakfast is important and now it's easy with a Luna bar. I get them at Walmart for $.99 a bar and $7 for breakfast for the week is not bad! I recommend them to all women. :)
Pros: great taste, convenient, nutritious, good size Cons: none
This is the one and only nutrition bar for me. It's the perfect size for a meal on the run. I eat one for lunch every day at work. It's so convenient to throw one in your purse. The taste is unbelievable. Almost better than a candy bar. I agree that they can be dangerous in that you want to eat more than one at a time. I have been eating them almost everyday for the past couple of years. I always try to find them on sale and buy a bunch when I do. I love these bars so much, especially the peanut butter cookie, cookies and cream, and chocolate peppermint. I would highly recommend them to all women.
Ignore the nutrition facts because it's ALL GOOD for you by katie4410 ,Jul 21 '05
Pros: TASTE!!! Charitable brand, specifically designed for women's nutritional needs Cons: Cheaper would be better but they're not too expensive as it is
Ah Luna bars. My one and only brand of energy/nutrition/snack bars. I always have at least one Luna bar with me--they're perfect for a snack, a way to boost your nutritional intake, or as a pick-me-up when the day feels longer than it should.
Let's face it. The "nutritional supplement/diet" section of the supermarket is a really risky aisle to be in. You don't know what you'll get--and experimenting isn't cheap and often literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You shouldn't have to chase your energy bar with something more palatable--so buy Luna bars. They are honestly the best I've tasted! I especially like the chocolate peppermint stick flavor.
9 g of protein...100%DV of vitamin C...35%DV of calcium...35%DV of iron...and the list goes on. This is a bar you can not only feel good about tasting, but feel good about putting into your body. There's no guilty pleasure because there is nothing to feel guilty about!
Pros: Luna Bars are tastier than any other (healthy) bars I have tried. Cons: I only wish they were even lower in calories than 170 per bar.
I have tried many of the flavors and really love "nutz over chocolate" and "toasted nuts and cranberry." Also "dulce de leche." I have found them at Wegman's (NJ) for 99 cents (and at at 90 cents per bar if you buy a box of 15)! I watch my diet and have one bar a day as a healthy and filling snack. Elaine
Pros: *low calorie
*10 grams of protien
*35 percent of your daily calcium needs
Cons: *They some times have a weird sort of medicine taste
*THere surgary
I must say these bars taste pretty good. Not to mention their good for you too. There vegan too which is always a bonus and contain 35 percent of yor daily calcium intake. Now their no snickers bar but they still taste pretty great for something that is so good for you.
good but they have changed the smores recipe by elizabeth199 ,Sep 21 '04
Pros: taste, healthy, easy, fast Cons: new recipe, price
I LOVE the Smores Luna Bars. However, they have recently changed the recipe and things do not taste nearly as good. I eat these for breakfast and for a snack. They taste really almost like a candy bar -- no kidding. I just love them. However, I encourage you all to write to luna bars by going to their website and suggesting to them to change the recipe back to how it used to be. The new bars seem overcooked, they are wimpy looking, and have a funny taste. The old ones tasted almost like rice crispy treats with chocolate on them.
Ewww, what is that aftertaste? by gyhuji ,Oct 04 '07
Pros: Supposed nutrition, feeling of fullness lasts for many hours Cons: initial chemical taste/aftertaste, but you get used to it...
I have tried a few flavors. So far the peppermint stick is my fav and I could probably eat one/day. I just have to get past that initial gag reflex of the first bite. I mean, what is that all about? Every Luna bar has it. The pecan pie made me want to gag and I didn't finish it.
I will still purchase these (peppermint)because they are better than the other brands I have tried.
Used to love them now are awful with the new taste by taraanouk ,Feb 14 '05
Pros: used to be good , many flavors Cons: changed recipie now nothing special many better bars out there.
WHy mess with a good thing? They have a new improved taste or so they advertise with less sugar and more fiber. Simply Yuck! they lost the candybar yumminess and now test very heavily of chalky soynuts. Bring back the old recipies!
Was Good but Now They Are Bad by hbwatkin ,Jun 18 '06
Pros: Used to taste good Cons: New recipe is awful
When I discovered Luna bars I thought they were wonderful. I would buy them by the box and eat two or three everyday. Then they changed their recipes and now they taste awful. I'll have to find another bar for my mid-day snacking.
Luna Bars used to be great then changed-- YUCK by cpearl ,Aug 15 '08
Pros: Chew your vitamins? Cons: Terrible taste, more puffed rice than anything else.
Ten years ago, these bars were AWESOME. I don't know what happened-- It's like there was a shift towards fewer carbs in each bar, because I noticed new wrappers a few years back and the carbs went down-- NOT BY MUCH-- just a few grams. Now they taste like cardboard. They have that "vitamin" taste. They are no longer sweet. It's a chore to eat them rather than a healthy taste bud delight. I won't eat them anymore. I'd MUCH rather have a kashi bar and swallow a multi-vitamin.
What tastes WAY better?
"Think Thin" bars (VERY high protein, low carb, still sweet, try the chocolate peanut)
Lara Bars (lemon, chocolate-coconut are the best)
Anything Kashi
CLIF BAR Luna Bar Chocolate Peppermint Stik 15 bars Of course all twelve flavors include calcium for healthy bones, protein to rebuild muscle, antioxidants for overall wellness, plus folic acid and soy ...
