Pros: lightweight, easy to fold and unfold, stylish, well built, recline Cons: poor sun shade, no tray or cupholder
We bought this stroller for our daughter when she was 5 months old - at the time she didn't have enough body strength to sit up completely on her own, so we used a rolled blanket on one side to keep her propped up. The know the stroller is supposed to be ...
Pros: Lightweight, compact when folded, very maneuverable Cons: two step fold
If you are looking for an umbrella stroller, but also want a smooth ride with lots of maneuverability, some storage for your stuff and some shade for your little one this is the stroller for you. I was concerned that I might regret paying so much for...
Pros: Most innovative design and portable of them all. Solid overall built. Cons: Wheels should be pneumatic and balance can be improved. Handles should be anything but foam.
There is a dizzying array of strollers for the consumer: umbrella, one-hand fold mechanism, joggers, three-wheelers, etc... And for a active consumer/shopper like myself, I compare buying our baby girl her first set of wheels to searching for a set of whe ...
I love this stroller but... by mommyofcam ,Aug 07 '04
Pros: lightweight, easy open/close and steers beautifully Cons: price, padding and sun canopy
The quest is a great lightweight stroller. I use this on public transportation (but I think the Triumph w/ the carry strap is a better choice). It reclines enough for a comfortable napping position (this function requires two hands) and the leg rest is wonderful for smaller babies. Steering is easy (even with one hand) and folding it with one hand takes a bit of practice. The sun canopy is a bit annoying too. Nothing holds the canopy in place in the back of the stroller so it flops back and forth. I just wish that there was more padding but I suppose that extra padding would only add more weight and bulk to the stroller. My baby is very comfortable in it. All in all I am happy with my purchase.
Pros: smooth ride, collapses really small Cons: small basket, poor directions
A co-worker of mine recommended this stroller and I must agree that it is a great product.
My previous stroller was stiff and unforgiving on city sidewalks. In contrast, the Quest is smooth, agile and easily navigates the bumpy Boston sidewalks I deal with on a daily basis. I fondly recall trying it the store and being amazed that I could maneuver it with one finger on one handle!
A few minor gripes:
1. Directions are pretty difficult to follow
2. Collapsing it took some practice
3. It doesn't recline very far
4. Basket is small
It is pricey, so I would recommend e-bay or looking for end-of-season closeouts.
I love this stroller. It is lightweight and very easy to use. This is my 2nd umbrella stroller purchase. I had the peg perego Aria for my son and it was a good stroller and lasted a few years. However after having my daughter, I wanted something different. This stroller is great. I live in NYC and sometimes I have to maneuver through small places and I have never had a problem. I love the Mod Rose pattern, it is stylish! The only negaitive thing I have found so far is the basket, it is small and hard to get to when the seat is the recline position.
Pros: recline, leg extenders, basket, comfortable handles for tall people, very lightweight. Cons: Haven't found any.
Very comfortable for baby. Moves beautifully.
Compact and light, yet sturdy. The best lightweight stroller I found, and I looked for a long time before purchasing. Great recline and leg extenders for younger babies (our six month old is very comfy in it).
Pros: - easy to use
- lightweight
- attractive Cons: - small basket
I love my Maclaren Quest - it's a great stroller. Very easy to use (right out of the box), good functionality, lightweight, easy to steer, and handles are high and comfortable. And while far down my list of what is important, it looks good too.
Pros: Lightweight and easily folds with one hand Cons: Broke after less than two months. Difficult to get repaired. Non responsive customer support.
I bought this stroller thinking that Maclaren meant quality. Sadly after less than 2 months of not even daily use, a plastic piece broke off. Though covered by the warranty, to get it fixed requires that you ship the stroller to Connecticut (I live in the San Francisco Bay Area) and within 2-3 weeks later you get it back. Not very practical when you have an 11 month old. Maclaren said it was just too bad and if I wanted it fixed, I would have to be without a stroller. A $200 stroller should not break after such limited use and unless you live close to Maclaren, the warranty is essentially worthless.
In addition, the customer service supervisor I spoke with promised to get back to me to see if anything could be worked out. He never did. He also never returned numerous phone calls and e mails. Apparently, these strollers are now manufactured in China and the quality is not what it used to be. AVOID!
Pros: Lightweight. Smooth ride, Great turning radius Cons: None!
This is a great lightweight umbrella stroller. I purchased this to use in addition to my Bugaboo. I use this carriage in the mall, restaraunts or places where space is tight.
Here is what I love....
1. Easy one-handed steering and great turning radius.
2. One hand fold, light and easy to transport.
3. It has a reclining seat and is a smooth, comfortable ride for baby.
4. Taller handles then other umbrella strollers.
5. Comes in Cute/stylish colors.
6. Comes with Rain canopy.
Their is not much understorage, but don't expect that in an umbrella stroller. I also would not recommend this as your primary baby stroller. It is a great carriage to use in addition to another stroller (e.g. Bugaboo, jogging stroller, etc...)
After only SECOND use, the plastic piece that attaches hood to the handle broke. What's worse, I can't even contact the customer service. The line is automated, the operators are eternally busy, and after I left a message everyday of the week for a week, no one have returned a call yet. The internet store where I bought the stroller would not accept it since it was used twice. In short, the customer service is of no use.Think twice whether you want to risk.In short when it works-great, I am happy for those enthusiasts whose stroller worked just fine, can only hope they don't have to face the same problem.
Update as of 2-18-2004:
Someone mentioned to elaborate more on the product's features, could not do since did not get to use all those supposedly good features. Only can say that design is nice, lightweighted, seemed to close and open with certain ease, that's as far as I got before it disintegrated on me.Still no word from Customer Service though, I've called and sent email. So far have learned to speak with nice English accent that's on their answering machine.:)
