The Magellan Maestro 3100 is a new entry level automobile GPS system, the least expensive model in Magellan's line of Maestro GPS units. While clearly an entry level GPS, and lacking some popular high end features, the 3100 is built around ...

There are lots of units out there for $200. But when you actually use it, you realize why it costs $200. Then you pickup Maestro 3100. It looks rather simple. Power it on outside and GPS locks on quickly. You scroll the screen and it pans fast. ...
Pros: don't know - couldn't ever use it Cons: nonexistent customer support after the sale
I cannot speak to the product's performance as we never got to use it. The 3100 was purchased as a gift; we live in Europe and received the gift during the holidays while in the US. Although the website clearly states that the European maps are available ...

Excellent GPS...Solid Construction...Recommended by mobilepi ,Jan 04 '08
Pros: Price,Solid Construction,Brightness,Voice,Dual Viewing Mode, Cons: Somewhat slow right after saving addresses to memory, Simulator Mode needs to be sped up
This is an excellent GPS unit. Purchased for $135 over holidays on the internet. Have been using unit for past 2 weeks on a daily basis. It's a road warrior, meaning that the construction of the unit is solid, the touch screen is very accurate, and the internal battery last for approx 3-4 hrs (1-2 days if used intermittently) The best thing about this unit is that you can through this baby in your leather jacket pocket and port it around to just about anywhere. It's great for looking up POI's (points of interest) on the POI screen it has a great feature that allows you to tap the "closest to my location" (within 100 miles) button to find POI's in your area (provides phone #'s of most businesses). A great improvement over pressing the "City" or "Zipcode" button. It shortens the process, which is excellent for while your driving. Also, It takes less than 20 seconds, starting from the map screen, to type in an address and click the "route" button. Ive timed myself while looking up 3 different address, while driving. Awesome!
