Marshall hits a home run with their entry level MG100DFX Series Combo Amp!

by vanwarp Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 28 '03
Pros: Affordable, quality entry level combo amp...$429 US! Best Value for Money I could find!
Cons: What do you expect for $429...the best digital effects and tone money can buy?
Introduction:

Realistically speaking, Marshall’s MG series solid state amps where designed as affordable/quality entry level gear. Drawn up by the same team responsible for the AVT series, the new MG series amps incorporate some...

Marshall MG100DFX - for sound and value, it's the best

by j-bar , Mar 23 '04
Pros: dynamic and toneful sound and effects, nice sized, delivers tube sounds at solid state price
Cons: limited footswitch abilities, 4 effects sharing one control knob, short power cord
My recent purchase of the Marshall MG100DFX has revived my interest in Marshall amps. I am a big fan of Laney amps (also a British amplifier maker), but have always respected the Marshall legacy of being the most popular amp among most rock/metal ...

Rock’n Little Amplifier

by allen_elgin , Dec 23 '05
Pros: Marshall tone, versatility, solid state dependability, can’t beat the price.
Cons: The footswitch only controls Channel and FX. Needs more.
Before I bought this amp I had done a little research on it, but mostly I was just looking at amps for under $500 and this one caught my eye. I liked the fact that is was a brand new Marshall model and that it was 100 watts. At the time I needed an amp ...

This Is My First Marshall And I Love It
by bran_man74 ,Mar 26 '05
Pros: Tons of power for the size. Good effects. Good overdrive.
Cons: A 4 button footswitch would be nice. No speaker out.
This amp can scream and howl or sound sweet and smooth.
It has all the features that a combo amp should have. I used to play an all tube amp because I thought they were the be all end all in sound for guitar. This thing is as close as solid state gets to tube sound.
