Micro Innovations, a Great Value

by joshuabrand , Jul 18 '02
Pros: excellent value, great warranty, durable, interchangeable faceplates
Cons: low image quality
If you want a webcam and you’re on a budget, the Micro Innovations IC100C is probably the webcam for you.

When I purchased this camera, I was deciding between two choices, Micro Innovations, or Creative Labs. Both are low end webcams and...

Great first or entry level camera

by datsunguy , Jul 21 '06
Pros: Cheap; Quality Build; Foolproof Lens; Decent Software; Good Stand / Base
Cons: No 640x480 mode; cheezy colored faceplates
I just purchased my second Micro Innovations webcam from Staples. Came to about 5 bucks after rebate! I have two of these at home now. This is a great first camera - it seems to be of high quality and it works well. I have had no trouble with the ...

Good value but difficult to get working with Windows XP
by cjack49319 ,Jan 16 '04
Pros: Inexpensive, responsive technical support, adequate picture quality, packaged with fair amount of software.
Cons: Not 100% compatible with Windows XP
Purchased 2 of these cameras because of price. I wanted a way to communicate with my family while away from home. I was unable to get either camera to work with 2 of my Windows XP systems. I will say that Tech support worked with me to attempt to get the camera working, they exchanged multiple emails per day with me attempting to get it to work. They finally gave up and suggested that I go with a Logitech camera, which I did.

I also installed the camera on my Windows 2000 notebook and it installed without a problem.

The picture was not quite as good as the Logitech camera, but if I could have gotten it to work on XP I would have kept them.

Just Adequate
by matt1999 ,Jul 21 '04
Pros: Price.
Cons: Not fully compatible with Windows XP. No outdoor/sunlight images. Very sensitive to light.
This was the least expensive web cam that I could find.

I installed it on Windows XP with much trouble. I spent a long time searching for files needed to install. I downloaded the drivers from the web site but they still did not have everything you needed.

I wanted to use this camera for an outdoor image. It will not work with any amount of sunlight. The picture turns bright white and you are no longer able to see anything. Nearly any amount of sunlight will wash out the picture. It appears to be made for only inside use with minimal light.
