Pros: Good coffee
Everything is automatic and easy to use
Steamer makes good foam Cons: Poor reliability
Poor customer service, repair response times are measured in months
Dangerous design
We really enjoyed the coffee machine. We bought the first one about two years ago. It worked well for about eight months and then water leaked inside and the machine shut off. Miele sent a repair technician in about a month who tried unsuccessfully to ...

Pros: good coffee/espresso, can adjust grind of bean and temp. of coffee, no problems with machine. Cons: steams slow, no direct water connection, needs two bean compartments for regular and decaf.
Makes good coffee and espresso, can adjust grind of beans, can adjust temp. of coffee. I have had no problems with my machine, I use it everyday. If I were purchasing this again I would do the following... 1. Find a unit that steams strongly and ...

So far so good
by westsideguy ,Feb 17 '04
Pros: Great Looking, best coffee, great automatic features Cons: daily cleaning
I have had the machine for two months and havent had any problems yet. Easy to use, great automatic functions, excellent design and of course great coffee! The only draw back if I can think of any is the constant cleaning. I also think that there should be a way to connect to a water line rather then having to refill the water every day.

This machine is an unnecessary hassle!
by blackjacks ,Jan 09 '04
Pros: Good coffee for the first 4 weeks. Cons: Service, problems, no coffee.
After one month of owning the machine, we had 2 service calls (both for a malfunctioning sensor) and finally a replacement machine (because the sensor problem was never fixed). Two months later, the machine is unusable. The coffee drips out (rather than disperse at a steady stream as it did when new) and only fills half of the amount is used to fill. The "large cup" fills half of a regular cup and takes about 5 minutes to do that. A new pump and water lines are on order. As of this morning, the door latch does not function properly. The machine will not turn on unless I apply a constant and steady pressure to the upper right corner of the machine.
$2000?! You've got to be kidding me.
If you're thinking of buying this machine, don't do it...unless of course you'd like to end up with a big hole in your cabinetry when the machine breaks down in a few months...wish me luck on filling the space.
Anyone know of another espresso/capp/builtingrinder machine that works?

Great experience with 2 Miele machines
by compudoc99 ,Mar 04 '05
Pros: Great coffee, easy to use, easy to maintain. Cons: Expensive, ideally installed in a cabinet or by someone installing cabinets in a kitchen.
I've installed two of these, and they've now been in operation almost 2 years. One is in my office (where 5 - 6 people use the machine) and the other is in my home. Fortunately I didn't see other reviews here until about 6 months after I installed my machines, but then I decided to hold off on submitting my own review to see if my machines developed problems. They haven't yet. The quality of the coffee - whether espresso, double espresso, latte or cappuccino - is outstanding. I find the machines easy to use and maintain - certainly less onerous than the French presses that I used before I bought the Mieles. I had a relatively minor problem with one of the machines but had no problem reaching the Miele tech support and fixed it myself under their guidance. (No cost!) I like the fact that I can vary the amount of coffee, the grind, the amount of water, and make other adjustments that let me make the cup of coffee that I personally like best. All in all I'm VERY pleased.
