Pros: Great vocals, nice melodies, easy to digest... Cons: Not "challenging" or even that intelligent...
Relief is a word the aptly describes the feeling when critical praise aligns with the actual quality of an album. And such is the case with the keenly sincere Pete Yorn debut Musicforthemorningafter.
Yorn is one in a long...

Pros: Amazing talent in the music and lyrics...you'll love this guy! Cons: It's not already in your CD collection!
Right now Pete Yorn is on tour opening for Train. Who's opening for Matchbox Twenty. If you can catch this show, you MUST. Not for Rob Thomas and his guys, not for the "Meet Virginia" guy with the scarred chin (I like both of these bands, by the way),...

Pros: Originality of lyrics and tunes Cons: none
Pete Yorn is quickly becoming one of the best solo artists to rock the rock and roll scene. Joining the likes of John Mayer, Howie Day, or Jack Johnson, Yorn's album "Musicforthemorningafter" is a great collection of original songs that will keep your...

Pros: Brilliant Debut Effort from Pete Yorn. Cons: None.
Throughout the history of popular music, there has been an era for singer-songwriters who all were all famous for writing from the heart and giving meaning to people’s lives. In the late 1990s however, the singer-songwriter era had hit a...

Pros: The best debut album we've seen in YEARS. Cons: Pete Yorn's only got one album out.
I might as well write a "next big thing" series of reviews.
I mean, take a look at the last two albums I reviewed---White Blood Cells by the White Stripes and Is This It, the debut album from The Strokes. These garage-rock...

Pros: Perfect blend of Britpop and rock Cons: "June" sticks out like a country girl in the middle of a Miss America Pagaent
Its been very hard lately to find a new artist who creates such excitement around his debut album like Pete Yorn has. But the hype and praise is well-earned and proven true in Musicforthemorningafter. The album is a breath of fresh are from the obnoxious...

Pros: Heart-felt, observant lyrics with raw-drenched guitar hooks. Cons: -------
The album,“Musicforthemorningafter,” was D-I-Y (do it yourself), which is a total breath of fresh air. Corporate fat cats didn't consume him or his music up, and you definitely have to love that. Pete Yorn reminds me of a Kurt Cobain minus the blonde...

Pros: No manufactured angst or pre-packaged sex appeal...just quality song-writing. Bravo. Cons: Well...he's no Justin Timberlake to look at.
Today's music scene is not exactly one that embraces long-haired folk singers. And indeed, there are times when I'm listening to musicforthemorningafter that I think Pete Yorn might have come along about 30 years too late. But there seems to be...

I went to see me myself and Irene and i waited till the credits rolled to see who had done the music for the movie, specifically "strange condition" i said Pete Yorn, never heard of him :: went to the record store to see if i could find a recording of...

Pros: Still fresh after over a year of heavy rotation on my stereo! Cons: none
What can I say. From the minute I heard "On Your Side" in a Barnes & Noble over a year ago, I was hooked. Pete Yorn is an amazing songwriter, and the sounds he created on this album never get stale. There are songs for everyone on this incredible album:...

Pros: Fantastic tracks, Every song is good. Cons: No one has heard of him.
This album is refreshing. Sick of the bubble gum music out there? Or the very angry teenagers screaming? Then this is for you. It has a folky/bluesy/rock thing going on. Nice ballads, guitar hooks, and light lyrics. No offensive nasty stuff here! Its...

Pros: Addictive, great music from someone who actually writes his own songs! Cons: There isn't another Pete Yorn album yet
This record is the best rock album of 2001. Yorn's songs are well-written lyrically and musically. They're catchy. You can leave this CD in your changer for months and not get tired of it. I've had in it in my car changer for over 4 months.

Pros: One of the most heartfelt and honest records to come out in a long time. Cons: Songs might sound similar upon first listen, but will stand alone in no time.
For fans of the singer-songwriter, New Jersey native Pete Yorn's debut record is a must have for your CD Collection. Yorn sings his songs with such a passion that you will feel as if the things he is singing about are happening to you. Its not often a...
