Pros: DHA & ARA, comfort proteins Cons: Can bother allergies
Good Start was recommended to us on Day 1 in the hospital with our newborn daughter. Even though this was our second child, and we had both attempted breastfeeding and then pumped and then bottle fed our first child, we know in the past 5 years a lot in ...
Pros: Good nutrition levels; Smell not too bad when served; Abundant availability Cons: Makes colorful waste deposits on diapers; Smelly on the way out
Feeding a young baby requires constant attention and care. Fortunately, there are many good formulas available on the market to make the process as simple as possible. One such formula is Nestle Good Start Supreme Infant Formula with Iron, a ...
Pros: Nestle finally has a formula with DHA & ARA, iron-fortified, "Comfort Proteins" Cons: Currently seems to be the most expensive DHA & ARA formula out there
My husband and I are first-time parents. We're still at that stage of "nothing is too good for OUR baby!" thinking. I'm sure at some point we'll "live, learn, and then get Luvs", but for now our little boy gets the finest things we can afford! This ...
Pros: Cheaper than most Cons: Upset my babies tummy.
We are currently using this product with my newborn. She had been given another brand in the hospital. In the hospital the WIC consultant came in and signed the baby up for this program. One of the stipulations of being in the program, is that we try ...
Pros: "Comfort proteins" are easy on baby's tummy, iron-fortified, DHA & ARA.
Cons: None.
I tried to breastfeed my son, but I just wasn't producing enough milk. Nestle Good Start Supreme DHA & ARA is the 4th formula we tried, and it is the only one that has made my son happy. The hospital started my son on Similac Advance with Iron, but ...
Pros: Easy to digest, widely available, dissolves well. Essentially cured my son of his constipation.
Cons: Not many coupons to be found, not available at Costco or Sam's Club.
A couple of days after he was born, our son (now 7 weeks old) began being supplemented with Enfamil Lipil in the hospital. When we asked the pediatrician, he gave it his seal of approval. However, our son did not. Around week 4, due to my low breastmilk ...
Pros: Gave me my baby back! Cons: Even more expensive, not available in economy size at Sam's.
My 7 week old daughter had been on Enfamil Lipil since birth, and while I was also supplimenting her with pumped breast milk, she did fine with that. Once I stopped pumping at 4 weeks, the constipation and the gas began! My once happy, newly smiling ...
Pros: My son likes it. It doesn't cause him constipation Cons: Expensive. But good DHA formulas are.
I was able to almost exclusively breastfeed my son for his first 5 months. Then a C.diff infection knocked me out and I had to go down to just 2-3 breast feedings a day. When he was first born, he was given Enfamil Lipil w/Iron in the special care ...
I introduced formula to my boy when he was months old. I first used the ready to serve similac and nestle good start. Once he got formula exclusively, and no breast milk I switched to powder since it's so much cheaper and he was old enough that I ...
Pros: Cheaper than other formula Cons: My infant was in terrible pain with this formula.
Like most new moms, you are wondering is my baby on the right formula? My week old was on Similiac Advance with Iron. He seemed to be having a lot of gas, so I thought that switching his formula would help. I did a lot of research and decided to give ...
Pros: The best formula if you want to start bottle-feeding Cons: none
After having a baby,I had some serious problems with my health, and after torturing myself and the baby trying to breastfeed and fighting for my milk supply for three months,I decided to start formula feeding.I'm a first-time mom,so I didn't know a lot ...
Pros: Smells better, mixes well, good transition from breastmilk Cons: None... except it's not breastmilk.
My daughter (2nd child) was breastfed for the first 7 1/2 months of her life. We tried the free Enfamil samples given to us at the hospital, but they made her gassy, spitty, and seemed to upset her tummy for days. (Not to mention it smelled terrible!) I ...
Pros: Seems easy to digest Cons: More expensive than some, no coupons except from company directly
I am very happy using this formula with my son. He does seem to digest it more easily than some of the others. He didn't like the ready to feed as much as the powder so I stick with the powder primarily.
It smells a lot better than some formulas do and I find it easy to mix (although I do use a stick blender to make one days worth at a time each night).

Pros: Has DHA & ARA Cons: powder clumps and baby spits up
I used this formula for the first mouth but my daughter started spitting up a lot, so I switched to Emfamil. Good Start would be great, considering all the coupons I manage to accumulate. I also think it doesn't mix well, sometimes there are chucks of powder, the Emfamil mixes easier.
Pros: no bubbles in the bottle Cons: not as easy to find
A friend recommended Good Start after the birth of my first baby, but I never tried it. Boy do I regret it! I am now dealing with gas and feeding problems with my 2 week old, and decided to try Good Start with him. I have to say that it was instant success! What I find is that most doctors and hospitals only recommend Enfamil and will never even tell you about Nestle Good Start. I'm so glad I remembered my friend's recommendation. My baby had been perfectly happy for 2 weeks but started having gas pains and screaming nonstop overnight. I would definitely recommend trying this formula before wasting money on gross soy formula and lactose free formula. I really think the comfort proteins make all the difference. I have my happy baby back!
